I've had one for almost a year now. We were considering a wave runner but preferred the side by side seating and less wet than a wave runner. I believe the newer ones have a higher bimini top and its good to get out of the scorching sun. Another thing a wave runner doesn't seem to have. It's mostly used for exploring on the inner coastal. We have u-bolts for towing a kayak but haven't tried it yet. Super stable, won't sink , foam filled pontoons, top speed 28 maybe 30 with one person. About a gallon an hour at 15mph. It may not be what everyone wants but for our needs we're glad we got it.

@@zzz7zzz9 First off, if you buy a new one, the motor alone is worth over 5K. Then add the boat, electrical stuff, then the trailer. They make and sell them to make a PROFIT. Those aren't "paddleboards" with seats "strapped" on. If you think those are paddleboards, then you've never seen one of these boats up close. I have a 2008 that I picked up for 4K in great condition. It does everything it needs to do well. I use mine on open water in Lake Michigan...it's beefier that it appears. They are inexpensive to buy, operate, and easy to maintain. Plus I can easy tow it behind a RAV4.

I personally like them for fishing small lakes alone. They also work gray on streams. 2 people can carry it to the water, so no boat ramp needed. There are a lot of advantages to something like this. It wouldn’t replace my Allison, but I can take them places the Allison wouldn’t go.

I can't think of anything else that compares to it in terms of fun and sun. I'm curious what you would suggest for someone who wanted to be able to take 2 people, carry a little gear, have a low-maintenance hull/pontoons, and sit low to the water for a thrilling ride. (Oh yeah, and I want the stability to be able to stand anywhere on it and not have it tilt and flip/capsize.) Jetski: nope. Bass boat: nope. Bowrider: nope. The only issue I see with these is the price, as a fisherman, I can get twice the usage and space out of a 800 dollar John boat only cost in my eyes is speed.

Probably make a hell of a skinny water fishing machine if you find one cheep enough. What is the draft on that?

Basically what I have. Made one myself for 100. Currently making better pontoons that dont get sucked under the water. Mine can stand on its tail and do standing donuts.

I would move the Jack plate back and the seats forward some to offset the weight. Maybe make it a foot or two longer. Get it so you can use the trim, altho, looked like it didnt need to be trimmed up during "high speed"

If you mounted it that way, you'd be smacking yourself, and your passenger with the tiller lever. Plus you'd have far less leverage.

Seems like it really lacks any deck space for how large it is. Cluttered. Plus the prop clearance... just doesn't seem well designed for anything other than the novelty of driving a boat on water.
