Whoever the female narrator/moderator is...basically ruined any enjoyment of watching the game, she never shut up, just kept on talking and talking and talking. Dang lady, people just want to watch the game. We don't want a history of each player or what type grip to use. I had to turn the volume way down. She just kept on running that mouth throughout the whole match. These American moderators of games need to take a lesson from the British. The British game moderators speak almost in a whisper, softly and with much silence so fans can hear the sounds of the game.
Why do Pickleball commentators think we're more interested in their chatter than we are in what's happening on the court. PLEASE take some lessons from the tennis commentators.
To whoever is in charge: please ask the videographers to please please please give us spectators a side angle of the game. We cannot see what's going on from behind the players on one side! I'm begging you. As the "game" evolves, so should the "presentation." I'm asking that the entire presentation be from the side of the court.
This videography, I believe, is some of the best that's ever been done. The whole camera platform is panning and being how from the baselines some as well.
I did the worlds first Oscar! The Oscar is when you jump over your side of the kitchen, fly over the net, hit the ball for a winner and land over passed your opponents’ kitchen line. Much more difficult than an Ernie, or Bert.
Oscar don't got no feel you silly! Better Sesame character for what you did would be a "Grover" or a "Super Grover". Would love to have seen it. Sounds cool!
ALW should have played 2/3rds of court and had RN play other 3rd. Newman can be so much better if he learns how to play more disciplined instead of running all over the court. Irvine the weakest link of all four and isn’t even a top 10 female player. Guess that’s why BJ & ALW are the best at Pickleball today. Some really great plays by both teams. Thanks for posting.
This is a game. A giant ping pong game that is no more a sport than bowling or golf. These people can't even play tennis even doubles and because that plastic ball skips thus making older folks stoop more outstretched trying to get to and they hurt in record numbers.

It seems like he is handling the dinks while she is handling the hard shots. I think it is a good strategy if that is his weakness. Since there are so many dinks, he is doing most of the ball handling to setup the hard shots for her. I think it was plan.
RE your math about pitching in Baseball and Kitchen to kitchen line in Pickleball: A Baseball pitch is just a hair quicker, but then you have multiple chances to hit the ball only one time. Of course, a Baseball bat is a much smaller hitting surface than a paddle. Where that quickness really compares well is with Tennis. Despite all the talk from Tennis wonks about how lame Pickleball is, kitchen exchanges happen at nearly twice the pace of a typical Tennis rally. I've seen _many_ Pickleball rallies where ten or more shots were made in less than half as many seconds. I've only seen one Tennis rally where more than four shots happened at less than 1/2 second per shot, and that was only five shots.
I don't know how you did your math, but I doubt you're right. In baseball, we know the distance and speed. In pickleball, we are guessing both. It can be less than 14 feet when people reach into the kitchen to take the ball.

If I remember correctly, I used 15 feet for the kitchen, mainly because that's an easy 1/4 of the pitching distance (The pitching mound is 60 feet from the plate, right?) And I think a pitched baseball travels at about 3-4 times the speed of a typical PB shot. It's all very speculative. I did the best I could.

You can really get a sense how fast and hard the guys hit when both Irvine and Waters had difficulty handling the drives! Awesome match.
