      I am trying to decide which school to choose for my online MBA. One of my options is University of Louisiana (thanks to you). My other options are: Lamar University (TX) or Eastern University (PA). Just wondering if you have any thoughts on those.

    Thank you so so much for this list! So well explained! Could you possibly do a video on an online masters in management or even the difference between an MIM and MBA. Which degree would be most beneficial for entrepreneurs or company owners?

    • @RichardWalls
      @RichardWalls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi Omo, thanks for the comment! That's a good idea - I'll add that to list. I do see Management degrees pop up, usually marketed as a shorter program than an MBA, but for entrepreneurs or company owners, MBAs are still going to be the best value - it's a degree that gives you a pretty comprehensive look at business. That said, if you're going the entrepreneurial route, an MBA likely isn't going to help you much, unless you're in some consultative business where a degree can add to your credibility. But nonetheless, if you decide you do want the degree, would certainly stay away from many of the higher priced degrees as you won't get a good return on the investment.

    • @RichardWalls
      @RichardWalls  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do not require a GMAT score, which has generally been a factor in rankings. The school, for a few years at this point, has decided not to participate in the business school rankings at all. However, they have various business degree programs that are incredibly well ranked. Their accounting program, for example, is top 3 in the country for undergraduate and graduate.

My situation is different. I'm a midcareer physician so I'm much more interested in Healthcare administration. I believe both Ball and Wisconsin have healthcare administration concentrations. Wisconsin has a clumsy multiple website system which doesn't seem very modern. I believe UIUC will be adding healcare administration courses by 2025 according to my "interviewer." BU doesn't have concentrations despite their brick and mortar MBA offering it. When I spoke with a counselor, I was not impressed by their lack of interest.

    Great overview. Thanks. Btw have you heard about Arden University (UK). Just started to do some research on their MBA program with a Data analytics specialization. If you have come across this name and if you have some feedback collected from any of your friends, please do share. Thanks, Richard.

      Hi, haven't heard anything about Arden University, but just looking at it now and it doesn't seem that appealing to me. Although its low cost, it doesn't seem to have much brand recognition. I'll have another video in the future examining schools in the UK, but check out Middlesex University, Durham Univ, Univ of Aberdeen and Aston University. Still relatively inexpensive compared to most MBAs, but have good established reputations.

      Hi. First thanks a lot for your videos.Very helpful .
      I have 3 questions, please :
      1. I was going to ask the same question than Richard. Most of proposed MBAs in your video are USA ones .I guess they are the best but can you please advise about European ones : UK , Germany , France ..... Canada as well .
      2. Does MBA still have value with all the already existing certifications ( Cheaper ) : PMP, CFA , Agile , scrum......I m a PMP certfied and I still don't know if MBA will bring me any added value in terms of knowledge .
      3. Most of schools don't propose aviation Specialization . Any recommendation .
      Thanks in advance .

      @@fatimabensalem8310 Hi - thanks for the comment! 1) Plan on doing a video in the future w/ European schools. 2) Yes, MBA still has value w/ other options. 3) Focus on getting a business education - doesn't need to have an aviation specialization. Will need to find a different way to enter that market.

As an internatioanl candidate with over 10+ experience including managerial in real estate investment and management and with MSRE degree, the purpose is more to add on MBA degree from the relatively higher ranked business school in general. Hi Ayo - thank you for your comment! Really depends on what you want to do with the MBA (career goals) and your financial situation. I think its a solid option, particularly if you want to go into oil & gas industry since that region is known for it. As far as traveling abroad, you'd have to check individual programs on what they offer. There are plenty that do offer it; sometimes its included with the cost of the program and require, sometimes its optional (and you pay out of pocket, which is more common on the less expensive online MBAs).

      Hi Juan Diego - Purdue is a great school with a fantastic MBA program! If the $56K price tag is within budget, I'd say go for it. There's also Purdue Global Online MBA, which is a bit less expensive. I've looked into the differences of these two programs, and while it appears they are distinct, I'm not sure of the differences. Perhaps they have different professors that aren't a part of Purdue's main MBA program. As far as hybrid programs, I don't know off the top of my head. Every program is a bit different, and some of them, if they don't have a two-week in-person session, then they may have something else where you visit the campus for a few days.
