I don't know what you've done to me. Before my college semester ended I had no plants and how I have 8. I work then buy a plant, like what is this curse.
I agree Rhipsalis Paradoxa, it’s also taken me over a year to find this one at a reasonable price (uk) and finally got mine last month and love it. Hope it grows well for you.
The Burros Tail is just sun bleached! I take mine outside for the summer and it always gets that way then gets darker during the winter even in a south window with a grow light lol!
Any tips on getting them sunbleached without sun burnt? I slowly started adjusting mine to outside full sun and it was NOT happy. A lot of leaves shriveled. 😢
The hoya is a nice, chunky hoya australis 😊 My australis has waxy undersides. And there are two types of variegated australis, Lisa and an outer-variegated version 🙂
For the monkey tail cactus, make sure it gets as much sun as possible. There’s a misconception that they are jungle plants that don’t need much sun, but that’s not true. They grow on cliffs above the jungle canopy in Bolivia and are exposed to direct sunlight. Without enough sun, it won’t grow uniformly and won’t develop as much hair.
The first Hoya is a Hoya australis ssp Tenuipes (Carnosa has pubescent undersides). I’ve grown the ssp Tenuipes outside in Southern Louisiana and it has a pleasant Hyacinth smell. There are sooooo many Anthurium hybrids now that it’s hard to tell them apart, especially when they are so juvenile. The braided jungle cactus is a Rhipsalis paradoxa. A full basket of it looks divine.
@yvonnesmith6152 Hi Yvonne, can you please tell me more about Hoya Australis Vs Carnosa? I have a Hoya Australis Lisa (variegated) and this smooth leaf thing has thrown me into double checking the name is right. What did you mean Carnosa has pubescent undersides?
I’m in the United States and planning to travel abroad. Im hoping somehow, someway we can meet at some point. I’m a serious rare plant and wardian case collector here in Texas and I’m such a fan! Been following you for 2 years and appreciate everything that I’ve learned from you and watching your life unfold in front of me.
Hi Clare...The green leaf hoya on the trellis is called Hoya Australis. I have 3 of them. One remains upright and produces long vines; one trails beautifully. Not sure why they seem to have different growth habits. Also have the Hoya Australis Lisa but am having a hard time keeping it alive, unlike the Hoya Australis which seems to be easier to grow
Hi Claire! The succulent that is pink it is sedum rubrotinctum 'Aurora' it's super easy and u can propagate it from just a single leaf, i have green with redish tips grate plant, give it as much direct sunlight as u can, to keep it pink
Selaginella are a genus of mosses that do not have spores. They can be propagated very easily by cutting, and they root prolifically. S. uncinata are a legitimate "low light" plant, that have a blue tint depending on the light. The color is not a pigment but part of its physical structure, like how crystals can shimmer different colors. I have trouble getting these to grow outside of an enclosure, but it's possible. Dont let them dry.
I think it looks totally typical for ssp. tenuipes and that is super common here in the UK. I think she’s mistaken/misremembering that ‘Lisa’ and the outer variegated form sold as “Blondie”are fuzzy as they are not.
Forgot to add that Hoya keysii was sunken into Hoya australis ssp. australis, and I don’t think this one fits that. The ones sold as Hoya australis ssp. keysii are mislabelled xx
Lovely additions! You probably already know this but if you are planning to get frogs for the terrarium (I know you mentioned before) please ensure to get the correct UVB lights for them too to enable D3 synthesis and a longer happier life too! (Work in a pet shop, all frogs need and benefit hugely from the correct UVB which do need to be changed as per manufacturer's guidelines)
I work with isopods and springtails and surprisingly there is quite a lot of plant knowledge that transfers over. I also have 4 reptiles on bioactive and I absolutely love it! Definitely recommend it!
That second Hoya just helped me figure out WHICH australis i have! 😂 mine is very similar but less rounded more of a point at the end of the leaves! Apparently its an australis ssp sanae!
I couldn't resist ordering a silver blush from between to thorns whilst watching this video. The plant was still ONLY £7 and the p&p was just £4. You are my top plant TH-camr and I am so grateful for little window (your camera) you allow me to look at your amazing collection
I believe Anthurium Crystal Hope (a crystallinum hybrid) is sometimes referred to as silver blush, so maybe that is what is being referenced? As for the differences between the two anthurium babies, it just looks like seedling variation to me.
Claire, you look absolutely radiant! Your joy is contagious 😊 You've got me seriously considering a terrarium 😅 and I swore I'd never have a cabinet - but I never said anything about a bioactive terrarium! Thank you for sharing your excitement and inspiration!
That’s a Hoya Australis green. I have the same one. They grow huge also mine blooms white flowers with beautiful smell. I think your one is Thai pink lipstick plant. That’s another beautiful plant.I really want one.Good luck ❤
The bushy garden plant that you might have had in mind when seeing the Nematanthus Gregarius Variegata was probably an Euonymus fortunei "Emerald Gold". We have them in our garden at various places, they are a bright golden spot amongst all the other greens, and can be cut back regularly to maintain a nice shape.
The nematanthus is also known as a goldfish plant!! Yes haha they look a lot like variegated holly or boxwood plants, which are evergreen plants found outdoors for landscaping. I said the exact same thing when I first found out about them, but they are actually also known as goldfish plants! That’s because their blooms (mostly in shades of orange, red and yellow) resemble those goldfish with big bellies 🤭 More mature plants with longer strands look absolutely gorgeous as hanging baskets especially when blooming en mass! They actually look like schools of fish swimming through seaweed.
What a wonderful new collection. And Im so glad you were renergized by he experience and for passing some of that energy along to we your followers. Thank you, I needed that. Be safe, hi to Ross. Peace
I love your gravitation towards some pinky-purpley plants. I have a Calathea Roseopicta 'Dottie' and it gives me a special kind of joy. Obviously, Calatheas cause a lot of stress in my life but the foliage is extremely beautiful.
Hoya australis also have outer variegation version, since lisa is inner variegation. I have all 3 types and this looks like australis to me, none of mine have fuzzy undersides of leaves either.
The hoya is an Australis. Australis don't have a fuzzy downside of the leaf, probably what you had before wasn't Australis. And the variegated form that's not Lisa is Australis Albomarginata, the variegation is on the margin of the leaf. I have the three versions, love all of them. Great haul!!
Lovely plants 😊❤ For the plant cutting you picked up from the floor, I believe it’s rhipsalis paradoxa. I am quite into rhipsalis and jungle cacti, and r. Paradoxa is one of my favorites! For propagation, I’d recommend you put it directly into a well draining potting mix, with a few centimeters of its bottom under soil. From my experience, r. Paradoxa is quite prone to rot, so just be mindful of letting the soil almost completely dry out. It is a fascinating plant with a very unique shape and growth pattern. Hope you have fun growing it!
I have a plant that looks like that bush plant and it’s called a variegated goldfish plant because the blooms look like goldfish! Maybe that’s what that is? 28:16
🇦🇺 hi Claire 🙋🏻 I'm looking forward to the joint operation terrarium. They're like the hoya rabbit hole... Once you've done one you keep looking at it and thinking how you can do it better, or you keep finding the 'perfect terrarium plant' and you need to make another one. You have been warned 🤣 pinguicula have been great in my terrarium, but the drosera capensis has been brilliant for decimating the fungus gnats. I can also hughly recommend Ficus villosa, Microgramma vacciniifolia, and peperomia string of turtles and pepper spot grown epiphytically. Love all your new plants 💕
So. nice you got some selaginella uncinata. I grow some in a glass together with some moss and it is so beautiful, especially because it is iridescent and under some light really blue. I love this little plant and it growing so fast and beautiful! ❤
My donkey tail looks like this one! It grows in a west facing window and gets direct light. The side facing the window is totally white - appears to be sun stress!
Loving this huge plant haul! The Thai pink lipstick plant is on my wishlist, the blooms are like little pink lipsticks 😊. Also, i think that is a monkey's tail cactus, i bought a huge one recently and im in love! They love a sunny spot, maybe a South facing window. 🪷💖🪷
I hung my N'Joy in a south facing window that had net curtains hung, and the rate of growth increased dramatically. I think the net allowed scorch prtection but still let the plant have all the light that it wanted to thrive. My N'Joy also came from IKEA, and its never attempted to die on me. Just a thought if you wanted to play around with placement with yours :)
The Hoya is Hoya australis ssp. tenuipes. That subspecies isn’t fuzzy (neither are the variegated forms like ‘Lisa’ or the outer variegated one in the UK). Other australis ssp can be, but you don’t see them often. I got mine in Wilko before it shut down. xx
Cleistocactus strausii grows considerably thicker than that even at such a small size and has sturdy central spines. You can’t touch a silver torch cactus without getting impaled on dozens of spines that stick out like a bed of needles.
@@morningstar8187it really depends on the growing conditions, mine has been through many different growing conditions and has grown both quite thick and very thin. And idk I can touch mine, I just avoid like, poking it.
29:42 For a US viewer, what are the active ingredients in Liquid Gold Leaf? I’ve found an additive (not a fertilizer) promising similar results. I’m just wondering what is in it and how it compares.
The little succulent he got I got it too for some time now, they are very good, and the more light you give them the more pink they are, I keep mine in the balcony where they get 4 hours of direct sunlight and they are super pink.
So many Anthurium hybrids. It's so hard to tell what they are unless the grower adds the cross. That's the fun of Anthuriums. You never know what is until it matures. Loving my orchids this year. They are popping with flowers.
will you plant the propagations from the N'joy straight into the new plant? To save space? It needs a lot of light to grow quickly, but now that you have a big one, you can put it in a darker place
Ah I have the sedum that Ross got! They’re greener in the warmer months and in the cooler months the entire plant goes a deep pink! Very cool! Good find Ross😍
I have a Hoya australis with smooth undersides that looks similar to that second plant. I've also had a couple small Hoya australis lisa, and they did seem to have leaves that grew and felt noticeably different from the australis. The lisa leaves were a bit more unpredictable in their growth the way that hoya leaves sometimes can be while the regular australis leaves were usually more uniform. I think there are other varieagated varieties of the australis as well (if I remember correctly the aleksandre is one). I've gotten so many hoyas where it's just like "well, maybe I'll figure out what it is when it blooms."
I’ve got the exact same Burro’s tail! It’s the same pot and size and it’s easily my new favourite plant! It’s in a self watering pot which I haven’t had before so I’m intrigued to see what you’ll say, I didn’t even let you finish talking before I commented. 😂🪴
I can tell you that the Burros Tail is white because of lack of light. I have grown several that way intentionally. As soon as they get very little light, they turn light like that.
Your burrows tail I do believe is actually a Lilac Mist… could be wrong but I have one very similar and that’s what they’re labeled as over here in Michigan
Ooo can’t wait to see what you and Ross do with the terrarium I have been inspired by Amy perky plants to make a terrarium lamp for my bedroom still looking for a lamp at the moment 🤣
The Nematanthus Gregarius is also known as a clog or goldfish plant, they create the cutest flowers that do look like fat little goldfish. I have 4 types, normal, variegated, radicans and tropicana. One of my favourite plants! It isn't found outside but it does look like an outside plant!
About anthuriums, the variation happens naturally if they are being produced from seed, sometimes clone variation happens even in tissue cultures. I have 4 crystallinums i bought different times, one is almost completely silver, one has thin silver lines, one with thick silver lines and darker leaves, and one that barely has any lines and it is also dark.
The donkey tail succulent been looking for one for a long time is hard to find one that looks really chunky and full basket of it. Definitely one that you repot it once and leave it alone cause is so sensitive in dropping is leaves. Also that colourful sedum there are so many varieties of them they remind me of jelly beans. Another one the leaves easily drop off too. I also like the Pachyphytum succulent another lovely one with the same delicate leaves. I love these succulents but so hard to maintain. That one is Rhipsalis Paradoxa one of my wishlist plant but hard to find here. Harli G made a terrarium where she introduced some of her springtails, isopods, snails and worms. Which you can get some ideas. I am not a fan of insects they creep me out especially ones with loads of legs gives me the chills.
Lots of nice plants Claire...happy growing! And by the way I have the same Oodie as you "I Love plants" hahaha How did you get yours all the way from here in Australia?
The Nemetanthus is a goldfish plant! (There are two unrelated genera of goldfish-Columnea and Nemetanthus) I didn’t know they came variegated! But looking at it, I wonder if it could be reminding you of a variegated Pittosporum. They’re native to China and Japan, but I believe they can be grown ornamentally outdoors in your climate. But anyway, Nemetanthus do grow a bit like a lipstick or a hoya, but much faster than a hoya and have adorable orange goldfish flowers.
Hello Claire (sorry if it’s Clare) my burros tail looks exactly the same as your new one and it’s so big. Mine is so icy white/minty blue I love it. I thought they were all like that to be fair?
A 20 houseplants shopping haul is so reasonnable ;)
Claire: I need to downsize this year
Also Claire:
😂❤
I don't know what you've done to me. Before my college semester ended I had no plants and how I have 8. I work then buy a plant, like what is this curse.
Same, but I'm out of college and am currently at 20, and not stopping. 🥲
The jungle cactus cutting is a Rhipsalis paradoxa
Yea, indeed. The 'major' form of it. And I'm jealous. I would love both major and minor in my collection 😄
This!
Yep, indeed 😊
yep came here to say that too lol
I agree Rhipsalis Paradoxa, it’s also taken me over a year to find this one at a reasonable price (uk) and finally got mine last month and love it. Hope it grows well for you.
The Burros Tail is just sun bleached! I take mine outside for the summer and it always gets that way then gets darker during the winter even in a south window with a grow light lol!
I agree! A south facing window isn’t really full sun for a cactus/succulent.
Any tips on getting them sunbleached without sun burnt? I slowly started adjusting mine to outside full sun and it was NOT happy. A lot of leaves shriveled. 😢
Its variegated version, Burro tail, pretty🍃💚🤗😍
The hoya is a nice, chunky hoya australis 😊
My australis has waxy undersides. And there are two types of variegated australis, Lisa and an outer-variegated version 🙂
I had to go feel the leaves of my austrails just to make sure! Lol!!
I was just about to comment that mine are also smooth on the back lol!
Hi, yes it is the Joya Australis. It has waxy under- leaf. 💚
For the monkey tail cactus, make sure it gets as much sun as possible. There’s a misconception that they are jungle plants that don’t need much sun, but that’s not true. They grow on cliffs above the jungle canopy in Bolivia and are exposed to direct sunlight.

100% agree these beauties needs looooots of light seen so many stretched around unfortunately 😢
Twenty plants...legend 🪴👍
The pink succulent is a Sedum rubrontictum (jelly bean plant) so beautiful! The 20 plant haul is so real 🤣🤣
Methinks Sedum rubrotinctum "Aurora" (pink jelly beans)
The first Hoya is a Hoya australis ssp Tenuipes (Carnosa has pubescent undersides). I’ve grown the ssp Tenuipes outside in Southern Louisiana and it has a pleasant Hyacinth smell.
There are sooooo many Anthurium hybrids now that it’s hard to tell them apart, especially when they are so juvenile.

I believe the second plant is a Hoya Australis ssp. ‘Keysii’. The leaves tend to be a bit thicker than regular Australis. :)
I agree. And the variegated kind that Claire spoke about was probaably Australis "Blondie".
I was thinking obovata lol
i was gonna say probably a different type of austraulis as well! i only found out recently there is multiple
I think it looks totally typical for ssp. tenuipes and that is super common here in the UK. I think she’s mistaken/misremembering that ‘Lisa’ and the outer variegated form sold as “Blondie”are fuzzy as they are not.

The one you found on the floor is a Rhipsalis paradoxa! Great snag!
It's definitely a hoya australis. Mine looks exactly like it and it's a ssp. Tenuipes. Not fuzzy at all.
That hoya is satisfyingly well-trellised. ❤
That a very great haul. Great job.
At 24:50, this cutting is a rhipsalis paradoxa. Very easy to grow
Your nemtanthus gregarius is a goldfish plant. Super cute when they bloom!

I started breeding my own predatory mites. It’s SO EASY!
I was tired of ordering them constantly. Good luck with your future millipedes 😊

Nematanthus Gregarius is a Goldfish Plant. The little flowers look like goldfish; so sweet! I've given then as gifts 😊
Hoya australis also have outer variegation version, since lisa is inner variegation. I have all 3 types and this looks like australis to me, none of mine have fuzzy undersides of leaves either.
I’d love a giant millipede too! You and Emma are making me spend a lot of money on plants already and now the millipede! 😂
The N'Joy LOVES full sun and I live on the equator
Lovely plants 😊❤ For the plant cutting you picked up from the floor, I believe it’s rhipsalis paradoxa. I am quite into rhipsalis and jungle cacti, and r. Paradoxa is one of my favorites! I came here to say Goldfish plant. I had one for years and wanted it to flower, but I eventually gave up and sold it.
Hi there may you enjoy your plants with good health love and peace god bless hugs xx
These videos are sooooo good. Thank you! ❤
I believe the 1st hoya is a hoya australis! and the one you were talking about that is variegated could be a hoya australis outer variegated/blondie?
Do you repot those hanging plants out of the hanging nursery pots? How do you water hanging plants that have drainage holes?
So many Anthurium hybrids. It's so hard to tell what they are unless the grower adds the cross. That's the fun of Anthuriums. You never know what is until it matures. Loving my orchids this year. They are popping with flowers.

Ooo can’t wait to see what you and Ross do with the terrarium I have been inspired by Amy perky plants to make a terrarium lamp for my bedroom still looking for a lamp at the moment 🤣
That first anthurium is a crystallinum. It looks the exact same as mine and mine is a baby too 💚
The Nematanthus Gregarius is also known as a clog or goldfish plant, they create the cutest flowers that do look like fat little goldfish. I have 4 types, normal, variegated, radicans and tropicana. One of my favourite plants! It isn't found outside but it does look like an outside plant!

Hoya australis is waxy, Hoya keysii has the furry undersides so I believe.
On the Hoya, I think AH014 is also a possibility. I have one, and the leaves look very similar.
I had a very small burros tail i bought on fb market place but i could not stop touching it 😂😂 didnt last a day.
That mystery jungle cactus might be a rhipsalis paradoxa, but I’m not sure I’ve never owned one
AWESOME SELECTION OF PLANTS!!
I wish you had included prices. Great video!
Do you have a recommendation for the type of pon you like? I've never tried it, but i would like to!
any plants on the smaller side you recommend for a bedroom?
Your portora is looking good and healthy!!
My Melo doubled in leaf size when I transferred into pon 😊
Hello Claire (sorry if it’s Clare)
my burros tail looks exactly the same as your new one and it’s so big. Mine is so icy white/minty blue I love it. I thought they were all like that to be fair?
