One of the biggest problems nobody talks about: The event doesn’t incentivize multiplayer. Seriously, I tried many times playing with randoms on act 1, but I ultimately won in a solo. I tried doing a trio on act 2, but I won second try being in a duo. And I spent hours trying to do act 3 with 3 other players, but it was ultimately better for me to just solo it. Now let’s look at the Frost Invasion Event. You get the SAME BENEFITS wether you’re in a solo, or a full mega server. So you’re practically INCENTIVIZED to play with a full server. Yeah, you COULD solo it with the right towers, but you’re better off being in a full server. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want an event that’s harder than Polluted Wastelands if you’re in a quad, and has the difficulty of fallen if you solo it.
Since elite asks “why is this beam of light hitting the other hand when I’m not even aiming at it”, as I’ve stated before on an eggcrypted video, For those who haven’t found out yet, the hands aren’t damaged by aiming the light at them, they take damage just from the light being on when the hand is in front of that certain light, u can just turn on a light while the hand is in front of it then focus on ur commanders or soldiers whatever u have going on without needing to focus on aiming the light at a hand

the only thing i hate about this event is the idea of it, It's wild to me that a group of people thought that it would be a good idea to face a pair of hands that get stunned by light without having eyes. I don't recall seeing hands anywhere in the storyline unless umbra somehow faced the narrator's hands which makes no sense. They know how terrible the event is aswell because they had to lock the server for 2 and a half days. I'd rather the event end off in act 2. It's also stupid that they called this their best event yet. It's a real punch in the face and this paragraph isn't even talking about the horrible balancing and glitches that have been going on. The best way to describe it is a school assignment that you procrastinated on till the last night. Im hoping this this is some extra late april fools joke or what they orginally had planned was wiped off the face of the earth and had to be replaced as a back up plan till they get the main one back.
I genuinely dont understand what happened in the time from Act-2 to 3. It genuinely does feel like they made this in under a week because they were far too ambitious with what they WANTED to create and had already promised to update so they scrapped it. Its all unprofessional. No New gamemode. No cutscenes explaining how we even got here. No Voice acting. This act was DEFINITELY not tested for real. No new quests. The list goes on its honestly so disappointing. They really should of never put a date on this event.

I don't understand why the devs made Act 3 with no cutscenes, no map changing. Literally just the Solar Theater with some background. It barely has story to it. We went from the Act 2 story to literally the Narrator destryoing the theater. The map is literally defend the center with paths. Also, Act 3 can be insanely better if we actually fought the Narrator instead of his pair of hands.

wouldve been interesting if this map was changed a little and during the halfway mark there would be a cutscene where umbra destroys the entire map, bringing the DTC format back partway and you have to rebuild the map if you want cliffs but alas, this is tds and from what we've learned before, they do not listen to QA testers
They legit could have hired you and me (I had a whole conversation in my mind of how act 3 will bring back act 1 and act 2 enemies but stronger on the map) It's pretty long I don't want to say but yeah We could have cooked better than the devs who were hired and payed money to do this
3:14 Its to force enemies to take a longer path and thus give you more time to attack. Additionally, double gates on the same road does not necessarily mean it is there to block those specific enemies. There is a crossroad there, where other enemies can come in through. That’s the whole point of the gates.
From the lore, I have gathed the "narrorator" worked on the order Halloween events to get to his rank of power now. So there for in act 3 he doesn't want you to ruin his work.
Rn is a crucial time where communication with the community is needed. The opportunity is here and they need to seize it. But seeing as how the last nerf was a shadow update and they haven’t even responded to QA testers, it just shows they are cowards and are just scared of complaints from the community. It’s a sad way to end such an anticipated event, and it’s prob the reason why they locked down discord for so long

it took me and a squad all with accels, some with sledgers and good coordination and COA chaining to beat this event, and they just made it as easy as a walk in the park
I think the part that I'm mostly upset about is they had an amazing plot to the story, and it all went to waste... they never conveyed the plot any further the cutscenes in act 1 were what I thought great.
Act 1 - Some epic umbra and penumbra backstory with a very cool cutscene and voice acting! Act 2 - WHERE'S UMBRA? oh okay jack o' bot back story its good it's fine. Act 3 - Narrator suddenly becomes mad and he spammed a bunch of sock puppet (he have been preparing it since trick or treat town).
TDS Idea:Four people enter a tds round but instead they are split up and each have their own enemies and maps to defend, One will need air defense other will be Camo defense crowd defense and finally boss defense.After all the rounds all the players get put in the same lane and they have to defend the hard boss that shoots at the base(they share the same amount of base hp) and starts rushing at the base for 3 seconds.The rewards can be 1000 gold and a free tower that is good in all of those categories (crowd control, hidden detection,air defense, boss dps)
I noticed this too I just felt like the acts degraded in quality such as (using old skins in the crate AHEM GRAVEYARD FARM) and even though the event looks like its fun and cool its just a multilane map to the center of a map with a few gates with spotlights that do damage THATS IT. I feel like even though this event was wanted for a long time, it just feels like its terrible with necromancer going from a battle pass event tower to a GEM tower that made it avalible to anybody who used a hardcore grinding strat. and overall the general issues with this event is crazy (dont worry there are upsides like the BP skins are cool and jester is a well made tower)
It would be cooler if every round the hands came down and stunned some towers, and in wave 10 umbra comes to get the cube but the director piches her or sum

I have a few buff ideas: - more enemies, but passive income is active (a little less from normal games, still no farms) -Goes to wave 18 instead of 14 - add a boss which travels to centre, maybe a weaker version of the umbra or the narrator (lower hp for shorter map) - maybe make a map shift mechanic? (Probably not) - MAKE THE JESTER AN ENEMY
The reason is the community complains the first parts had a lot of time in them but they could of moved act 3 to later but they know they will get mass hate if they do I would be happy for it to be better and wait

8:00 the hands: they both get damaged because the spotlight 'aoe' was massively buffed, thats why both of them are getting damaged even if you arent hitting them directly their invincibility: it isnt a bug apparently. its a feature... yeah... Their invincibility is supposed to work for like 15s (or less) and there is ZERO sound, ZERO effects, ZERO animation to actually show that they cannot be damaged... Right now, its just a whatever. but any time before act 3 became a cakewalk, this was basically the only reason why people would actually lose. Because of stupid unprompted i-frames the boss would activate without any indication of it taking place. And if there is an indication of that happening, id love for it to be far more noticable (like immune text spam that could be copy-pasted from fallen kind you know...) Edit: and building gates is supposed to slow down or funnel enemies together to take them down more effectively. So towers that have piercing can multi hit, or multi stun (sledger) and you wont have that many enemies coming over at the same time aswell, because their shortcuts will be cut off by the gates (theres still just 1 path that this isnt the case for, but its better to have one like this than more)
My friends came up with a strategy a few hours after the freezer glitch was patched. We beat the event but got no hat, we beat the event when it was impossible and got nothing for it.
I didn't notice this before, but did you know the right hand (maybe the left hand I don't know) KILLS YOUR TOWERS!? He legit killed two of my commanders and I couldn't chain, which means its the first boss SINCE RAIDER BOSS that can actually KILL TOWERS.
Ight since elite doesn’t understand the story of the event i will explain it, basically the player (us) head to a random cinema hosted by some narrator guy and he puts on a show for us in the form of acts, which recaps the early stage of before and after the umbra became, a god i guess. Act 1 showing before and act 2 showing the after, seeing umbra was behind the attacks of 2019 and the infamous 2020 halloween event, failing to get the cube and moving on to world domination a year later in the form of a solar eclipse, been there done that so the player wants to leave and give a bad review to the “narrators” cinema on google, Ofc narrator cant allow that so act3 happens. Guys something happend in this update but archer does no damage What am saying is that if you got a level 3+ archers do NO DAMAGE EVEN THE BURN DOESNT DO DAMAGE I cant tell if it’s just me but if someone that owns archer please test it and tell me if it’s just me or the archer tower is bugged.
Guys I recommend not just using golden soldier but the other things too like accel and commander, for me it’s easier to solo it with a full loadout of towers than just golden soldier.
in act 1 there was long drawn out cut scenes with decent graphics and animation in act 2 there was the map rising from the ground and a couple more cutscences and act 3 is just nothing like what happened to the lore????

How to beat act 3: get golden soldier, pyro, commander and DJ. Then spam down 15 golden soldiers and lvl them up one by one then put a DJ lvl 3 and save up for more soldiers. When you have max placement limit and no supports sell 3 soldiers to put down a medic and 2 max or lvl 3 pyros when the hands come out spot the light to them and get ready to use Ur commanders and medic and boom you got Ur self a free victory
I just beat the event (quad cuz I keep crashing in solo) and the problem is I’m mobile and due to Ui mobile palyers can’t equip confusion bombs even tho it’s maxed cuz u can’t see it😭😭😭😭
it’s nearly impossible to aim the light at the boss on mobile and my god the one reason why i lost is bc the controls on mobile (you could say relay on teammates but for some reason for me they always waste the batteries on the small enemies)

I just did with soldier and another friend , I have g soldier and my friend had soldier, He brought dj and i brought commander, Just spam level 0 GOLDEN soldiers at start and let your friend place level 2 soldiers and after a few waves when you start getting lots of money place 2 commanders diagonally far away and just use their ability at level 2, Get all soldiers level 2 and then max dj and start maxing all soldiers and ggs
idea: easter event.... will be something special it will not be a ducky event like 2020 and 2022. instead umbra's return. now hear me out the umbra ain't gonna wait till halloween for revenge. (or maybe it will just- like - this WAS the finale. after all it was a PLAY about a STORY about umbra. maybe the hands were just narrator's hands cuz he was tryna stop us from ruining his play)

I think what happened was this was suppose to be phase 1 and there was going to be a phase 2 but devs ran out of time.

The reason is the community complains the first parts had a lot of time in them but they could of moved act 3 to later but they know they will get mass hate if they do I would be happy for it to be better and wait
I love how they said they'd want everyone to get the best experience, just for delaying it

This event was once truly difficult where you needed skull but in just a day it became mindless
Also the lights bug and they don’t do anything damage to the final boss sometimes.

the hands: they both get damaged because the spotlight 'aoe' was massively buffed, thats why both of them are getting damaged even if you arent hitting them directly
their invincibility: it isnt a bug apparently. its a feature... yeah... Their invincibility is supposed to work for like 15s (or less) and there is ZERO sound, ZERO effects, ZERO animation to actually show that they cannot be damaged... Right now, its just a whatever. but any time before act 3 became a cakewalk, this was basically the only reason why people would actually lose. Because of stupid unprompted i-frames the boss would activate without any indication of it taking place. And if there is an indication of that happening, id love for it to be far more noticable (like immune text spam that could be copy-pasted from fallen kind you know...)
Edit: and building gates is supposed to slow down or funnel enemies together to take them down more effectively. So towers that have piercing can multi hit, or multi stun (sledger) and you wont have that many enemies coming over at the same time aswell, because their shortcuts will be cut off by the gates (theres still just 1 path that this isnt the case for, but its better to have one like this than more)
As someone who has Gold Soldier, this is a HUGE W.
My friends came up with a strategy a few hours after the freezer glitch was patched. We beat the event but got no hat, we beat the event when it was impossible and got nothing for it.
Same i got the same glitch and the devs didn’t think to fix it until people just thought it was broken and just left out of rage
I grinded the event got a 100 wins for no ugc and i bet once they patch the ugc glitch i would get nothing for all this effort 💀

The only hard thing in this event is the damn hitbox, like the light sometime does not even damage the boss
I didn't notice this before, but did you know the right hand (maybe the left hand I don't know) KILLS YOUR TOWERS!? He legit killed two of my commanders and I couldn't chain, which means its the first boss SINCE RAIDER BOSS that can actually KILL TOWERS.
Yeah its even in the wiki but its way weaker than raider boss' (he used to spam that shit)
the act 1 and 2 maps was good but it was really annoying to do act 3 with the map

Ight since elite doesn’t understand the story of the event i will explain it, basically the player (us) head to a random cinema hosted by some narrator guy and he puts on a show for us in the form of acts, which recaps the early stage of before and after the umbra became, a god i guess. Act 1 showing before and act 2 showing the after, seeing umbra was behind the attacks of 2019 and the infamous 2020 halloween event, failing to get the cube and moving on to world domination a year later in the form of a solar eclipse, been there done that so the player wants to leave and give a bad review to the “narrators” cinema on google, Ofc narrator cant allow that so act3 happens. And thats it lol, feel free to say “🤓” or “wikia colours wanna be below in replies”

Guys I recommend not just using golden soldier but the other things too like accel and commander, for me it’s easier to solo it with a full loadout of towers than just golden soldier.
in act 1 there was long drawn out cut scenes with decent graphics and animation in act 2 there was the map rising from the ground and a couple more cutscences and act 3 is just nothing like what happened to the lore????

How to beat act 3: get golden soldier, pyro, commander and DJ. Then spam down 15 golden soldiers and lvl them up one by one then put a DJ lvl 3 and save up for more soldiers. When you have max placement limit and no supports sell 3 soldiers to put down a medic and 2 max or lvl 3 pyros when the hands come out spot the light to them and get ready to use Ur commanders and medic and boom you got Ur self a free victory

it’s nearly impossible to aim the light at the boss on mobile and my god the one reason why i lost is bc the controls on mobile (you could say relay on teammates but for some reason for me they always waste the batteries on the small enemies)

Here’s the thing, every event in the past few years has had a badge for winning it. This event didn’t, something might happen
if I’m being honest I think it’s cool what they did with act 3 cause umbra will probably come back for real sometime and yeah. ok actual prediction is umbra comes back and kills narrator and steals his minions to add to her army
This really is the most anticlimactic grand finale, they had a super cool idea of switching maps half way, but they decided to do a random boring defend the center without any interesting enemies or even a interesting boss, act 1 and 2 where great but this is just hot flaming rushed garbage
I just did with soldier and another friend , I have g soldier and my friend had soldier, He brought dj and i brought commander, Just spam level 0 GOLDEN soldiers at start and let your friend place level 2 soldiers and after a few waves when you start getting lots of money place 2 commanders diagonally far away and just use their ability at level 2, Get all soldiers level 2 and then max dj and start maxing all soldiers and ggs
Right at the very end I lost all my go but killed the two bosses right as that happened it apparently counted as a win. I’ll take it
