Ron Carter's appearances on 2,221 recording sessions make him the most-recorded jazz bassist in history. Wikipeida

Wonderous music by talented musicians. Each version has merit - it is a matter of taste as to which you prefer and I don;t believe that we who are less talented should judge. The beauty of music is the infinite combinations and variations - especially so in jazz. For a more recent iteration: th-cam.com/video/oIPkN1BQ_7k/w-d-xo.html

Thanks God, it does exist cases like this one, where the art intrudes the religious way to connect the Universe.

Very nice, but Bill Evans', Miles Davis' and Cannonball Adderley's solos on the original recording of "So What" are still the definitive statements.

That wasn't Cannonball, that was John Coltrane...

Stanley Lewis, On the original version of "So What", the one from the Kind of Blue album, Davis, Coltrane, Adderley and Evans all soloed - in that order. In the version you might be thinking of, the one from the CBS-TV "Sound of Miles Davis", Davis, Coltrane, Kelly and Davis (again) soloed in that order. Adderley was sick that day and did not make the CBS-TV gig. I was referring only to the ORIGINAL version on which Coltrane soloed, as I said above, but it is MY OPINION that Davis', Adderley's and Evans' contributions to that version are more successful than Coltrane's. I did say definitive instead of successful; perhaps that's what confused you. I did NOT confuse Adderley with Coltrane.
