I am on my third Murano. I had a 2015, 2019, and now driving a 2024. I am averaging more than 25 mpg driving a variety of types of roads and traffic conditions
Very competitively priced at least in Canada. The SL cost about RAV4 Limited which for sure will get more expensive in 2026 when the new model comes. From the look this can lead it's segment sales. I would much prefer this over the new Lexus RX let alone the others mentioned in the video. Will wait to see the first model year performance before pulling the trigger to get one. Well done Nissan. I hope you can get yourself out from the current situation.
Well Andrea and Zack, I know you have been anxiously awaiting my opinion of the new Nissan Murano, and I do appreciate your understanding that I couldn't say anything due to the embargo. So, here it is: I like it. 😁 Seriously though, I might be one of the few that really likes Nissans. I rented a Rogue this fall, and I enjoyed it a lot. The previous gen Murano was gorgeous when it debuted, and it still looks stunning today. I agree that the one downside on the new model is the use of shiny black plastic (I call it as it is. This ain't no piano🎵). Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both, and to your sons and family!
I agree, I like the looks of it, but personally not a fan of the two spoke steering wheel and definitely not a fan of no buttons on the steering wheel.
Didn’t get to drive it, but today I sat in both front seats and back seat, and closely took in all features - tech, storage, comfort. I can’t comment on driving, noise, etc., but will say the comfort is incredible. The leather and soft-touch areas are also great. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This “eye” really likes the interior, but finds the exterior just okay. I will consider it for my next purchase (later in 2025). By the way, this couple does an excellent job with their reviews.
Great to finally do a complete review and drive!…I love all your reviews!😊 I must add that the front end turns me off because it looks like a Hyundai 🤷♀️
Beautiful design in both interior and exterior but touchscreen needs a little changes and I am not crazy about the steering wheel and those buttons on it. Great show Andrea! ☕️☕️
That's what I was going to say, although the Toyota is a good chunk more expensive ($5k+). However, you will get some of that back in fuel savings and certainly a bunch back in resale.
@@c7406-q8c They are all crossovers. Just slight variations of shapes, etc. No one said it was a replica, just a competitor. I actually think the front resembles the Venza a bit (in terms of shape), and the Venza is a bit more of a crossover shape (than the more wagon shape of the Crown Signia).
The Murano looks like the Lexus RX 350 with a little less horsepower but much cheaper. It would be interesting to compare the smooth ride and the quietness of the ride between both.
My wife loves her 2014 Murano Platinum. But she has already said a strong "NO" to upgrading to this version because of the interior. Enough with the gloss black plastic, not to mention the lack of physical buttons and a regular gear shift.
Hey guys, love the review. Would it be possible to include a bit more time talking about a cars speakers and quality? I think it would be great for audiophiles like myself. Good speakers are almost at the top of my check list when buying a new car. For example a 9 speaker bose vs a 9 speaker jbl could sound so different, even though they're the same # of speakers. Thanks again!
I once took a guided tour at the Murano glass factory. We watched an apprentice make what appeared to be a beautiful piece to my untrained eye. The tour guide picked it up and smashed it on the floor and said it would be 1.5 years before any of his works would be sold to the public. I’m reminded of this every time I come across poor quality goods especially in the automotive world.
Price wise people are cross shopping this with Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Hyundai Santa FE, Kia Sorento and the Buick Envision even though it is sized slightly bigger than some of those suv's.
Thank you for another great review. Really like the exterior design. Hate the wheels! No fog lights? Like the interior design, but piano black bits have to go! Like the push button shift. Disappointed the rear seats don't recline a little. Pity. MPG is horrible! How about a hybrid powertrain? That's my 2 cents.
I have a 2020 Murano platinum AWD and the fuel efficiency is consistently better than the EPA. Best I got was 6.1/100 on a 120km drive around miramichi-Bathurst area. I’ve been unfortunate enough to be in two accidents in my Murano and it has kept me safe overall compared to my Rogue. I wasn’t sure about the styling of this one at first… but the more I’m seeing it the more I’m intrigued….
My Mom is a Murano driver, she has had three; 2007, 2014, and a 2020. She has not had any transmission issues having driven the 2014 170k miles. When her 2020 feels used to her I’m sure she will give this one a try!
It will be interesting to see what happens with Honda and Nissan. Will it be a full on merger or will it be a partnership? I'd be a little concerned about that if I were thinking about buying the Murano Is it possible to buy a car in Canada then import it into the US? Many models offer things like heated steering wheel in CA but not in the US. Just wondering
Great review! I'd say its closest rival in size was probably the dearly departed Ford Edge, but this is far nicer. It's closer to a near-lux entry akin to the RX350. Still hesitant on that VC-Turbo, otherwise very nice effort by Nissan!
We have leased 2003, 2006, and 2009 Murano's and loved them. In 2010 we switched to Lexus RX 350 for the past 13 years. We may go back to the Murano - if Nissan is still around. Thanks for the excellent content.
Great outside but we all agree to avoid first year of major redesigns. New VC 4 cylinder getting "meh" reviews in the Infiniti, and is it an existing "new" transmission or completely brand new?
Loveeee the ad workkk 😅. This car looks niceeeee but it still needs changes. A real shifter and I dislike the steering wheel and pleaseeeee less gloss black and BETTER CAMERAS lol. But loveeeeeeee the color of the exterior😍 and the exterior is good (needs black lower front bumper intakes)
It's not just Nissan, everyone is doing it. It has to do with emissions and repairs. Small turbo engines like this put out less bad stuff, but also need to be repaired more often over its lifespan. More money for dealers after the warranty is up, which is when things like turbos will fail.
Good to see non luxury brands upping their game... The Toyota Crown Signia is another car like that, very Lexus-esque Mazda is another one that comes to mind
I actually think the Pathfinder is a great looking car - the interior could use an update, but the outside looks great to me. I see one every day - my neighbor has one - lol
You had me until you stated the price. The way you were talking on instagram and at the beginning of this video I was thinking price cut. I got my 24 pathfinder for less and still have the V6 with way more room.
Looks nice inside and out, but I'm afraid that 2.0L VC turbo will grenade itself before 100k (NHTSA have active investigations on them right now). Also terrible gas mileage (same as V6 I think). Former long time Nissan owner, but I'd be afraid right now as they are in some financial difficulties. Hope it helps them move into the future... I think this competes against the Toyota Crown Signia although it is considerably cheaper!
Nissan seems to be recovering quite well from 10 years of mismanagement. These new vehicles look... really good, actually. Is it too late for them? Time will tell.
TBH looks like Nissan just built a Toyota Venza which Toyota just discontinued because of poor sales in the segment. I like that it is lower than most SUV's but apparently few actual buyers share that view. Not sure why they built it?????
@4:15: ANC (sound reduction) is a good feature to have but I utterly detest ASC (fake engine sound played through the speakers). Is there a way to control these functions through the Settings Menu, or one needs to get access to the Diagnostics Menu?
Nissan had a lot of problems with their early CVTs…maybe it’s a good thing that they went back to a regular gear shifter. Like any new platform coming…give a little to get those early bugs worked out.
Does this imply that a buyer should not have to worry about the transmission going out on the 2025? I have a 2017 Murano and the transmission went out at 137K.
Nissans upscale models like the Maxima and Murano always competed with entry level luxury models from Infiniti . I rather this than a QX-50 and I liked the Maxima more than the Q 50 .

Honda Passport, VW Atlas Sport, Mazda CX-70, Toyota Crown Signia and Subaru Outback are Murano's main rivals.

This new Murano looks AMAZING. I love the steering wheel

Crown Signia is the competitor to this!
That's what I was going to say, although the Toyota is a good chunk more expensive ($5k+). However, you will get some of that back in fuel savings and certainly a bunch back in resale.
Crown Signia rides noticeably lower and is purely hybrid. There isn't even a hybrid offering (yet) for this Murano.
@@ytj22 we know that. we were thinking in terms of this shape of vehicle, slightly upscale but still a mainstream brand (non-luxury).
You dream it. It is proper SUV. Not a wagon!

I actually think this generation Murano is a rare good vehicle coming out of nissan in past 10 years. Nice job

This one is punching well above its weight. If I were an Infiniti dealer, I would be outraged.
i have the Rogue platinum, and talking about the piano black front, i can say that it bothers often, as the sun reflects right in your eyes on that
I would think that the Toyota Crown Signia would be its main competitor, but that’s just my opinion.
Just sat in a Signia yesterday. Not in the same class. The Signia is the modern take on a station wagon. The Murano is not.
The Subaru Outback could also be a competitor to this one and the Signia.
I think it looks sexy. But you're a man so you probably think it looks like another man.
That’s kind of bummer, not having a hybrid model. The side body shape looks like old Lexus 350.
Nissan is bringing e-power (Nissan Hybrid system) to the US in 2026. They confirmed it.
I really like this re-design. Very modern without over-the-top futuristic design that Hyundai seems to like.

Too long and too late… Unless the Japanese government steps in, Nisan’s goose is cooked! Looking beautiful Andrea!
Cheers!
Nice Honda Murano ......

My 2017 Murano's transmission went out at 137K. I like the car, but has Nissan resolved its transmission issues on models 2018-2024?
So sad the V6 is gone. What's the 0 - 60 compared to the V6 model?
It will be interesting to see what happens with Honda and Nissan. Will it be a full on merger or will it be a partnership? I'd be a little concerned about that if I were thinking about buying the Murano
Is it possible to buy a car in Canada then import it into the US? Many models offer things like heated steering wheel in CA but not in the US. Just wondering
For 50k, a lot of cars don’t compete with this, the value offered is really good.
Great review! I'd say its closest rival in size was probably the dearly departed Ford Edge, but this is far nicer. It's closer to a near-lux entry akin to the RX350. Still hesitant on that VC-Turbo, otherwise very nice effort by Nissan!
Absolutely gorg 1:43 eous (A Nissan Murano owner since 2005) 🇬🇧
How plush and comfortable are the front seats?
The exterior reminds me of the Toyota Venza, especially in the front. It also looks a lot like the Aria.
This competes well against the Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50 and the Volvo XC 60.
reminds me of same scenario back in 2009 Jaguar's new fleet of redesigned cars that came along just after the acquisition by Tata
We have leased 2003, 2006, and 2009 Murano's and loved them. In 2010 we switched to Lexus RX 350 for the past 13 years. We may go back to the Murano - if Nissan is still around. Thanks for the excellent content.
Had a 2015 . It was a great ride
Comfort at the time. Transmission was i moved on from it. Everything else was great with it at that time
finally Nissan has updated the Murano hate all the black plastic and touch button gear changes otherwise I would buy one tomorrow
This is a beautiful vehicle with the exception of the front end. So close, yet so far away.
The front isn’t its best feature but it’s not bad either.
Headlights remind me of the Tucson which isn't a great thing, although it does look a little better than that
I like this !
Love this new Murano! I would get the SL AWD. 😂
Great outside but we all agree to avoid first year of major redesigns. New VC 4 cylinder getting "meh" reviews in the Infiniti, and is it an existing "new" transmission or completely brand new?
this looks great! only thing that I am still unsure is decline in reliability for recent models. Getting rid of CVT makes me more hopeful though!
Recent models? The reliability has increased. 😂😂😂
Hey guys, do you know anything about a Sentra refresh? lol 😅. I hope it doesn’t look way better than the 2024 sentra because I might need it lol. Jk
What’s the sense in replacing a perfectly fine V6 with yet another turbo 4 that doesn’t get better gas mileage? I just don’t understand Nissan
Emissions
It's not just Nissan, everyone is doing it. It has to do with emissions and repairs. Small turbo engines like this put out less bad stuff, but also need to be repaired more often over its lifespan. More money for dealers after the warranty is up, which is when things like turbos will fail.
@ yes, I know it’s not just Nissan…this video just happens to be about a Nissan vehicle and I drive a Nissan V6 vehicle as well…
Really nice car
I'm impressed by this car, should make for a good used car once depreciation hits. No Instagram shots for this car?
That's a facelift Tuscon on the front, and a lexus on the rear xD
My problem with nissan is noise coming into the cabin
Looks good, but would pass on this due to all the capacitive touch controls and lack of physical buttons on the dash and steering wheel.
😂 Love Andrea’s face and hand gestures when accelerating 😃
Good to see non luxury brands upping their game... The Toyota Crown Signia is another car like that, very Lexus-esque
Mazda is another one that comes to mind
Pricing are also upped too ..........
Is this a Variable Compression engine?
NEEDS A CD PLAYER FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Redesigned Pathfinder next 🤔 ?
I actually think the Pathfinder is a great looking car - the interior could use an update, but the outside looks great to me. I see one every day - my neighbor has one - lol
Beautifull slick car
The front looks like the Tucson, and the back reminds me of the NX 350. Is it just me?
when it's a challenge to decide what it competes with, then it will come down to the price vs any SUV with similar pricing.
Ahh,, the front design looks old though, i wish they made it like pathfinder-ish front grill
Nice car ❤❤❤
You had me until you stated the price. The way you were talking on instagram and at the beginning of this video I was thinking price cut. I got my 24 pathfinder for less and still have the V6 with way more room.
I disagree, this is priced very competitively, the base price is excellent for what you get, it's loaded with features. These are going to sell.
It’s just so pedestrian compared to the previous body style…the flair is gone. Was hoping for more.
Nissan seems to be recovering quite well from 10 years of mismanagement. These new vehicles look... really good, actually. Is it too late for them? Time will tell.
i think this looks great - I just wish it had about 275-280 horsepower. Perhaps add a battery - we can only hope.
TBH looks like Nissan just built a Toyota Venza which Toyota just discontinued because of poor sales in the segment. I like that it is lower than most SUV's but apparently few actual buyers share that view. Not sure why they built it?????
Andrea, is the 2.1 available via software update, wireless in the Future (web-based)😮😊🇺🇲🇨🇦?? I think the Front Facia looks a lot like a Tucson 😊.
I did ask Nissan if it could be done through a software update and the product planner said no it can not.
When is Nissan expected to re-design their Pathfinder?
@4:15: ANC (sound reduction) is a good feature to have but I utterly detest ASC (fake engine sound played through the speakers). Is there a way to control these functions through the Settings Menu, or one needs to get access to the Diagnostics Menu?
The price for Platinum in Canada starts with $57.5k
The daytime running lights reminds me of Hyundai
you see that everywhere now .........
Which I hate
Right!
I wonder what this will compete with in 2035?
Competing with the one-year used GLC 300's.
No more CVT is a big plus. Having to pay extra for a spare tire is a big minus....
I would buy this over Toyota Crown anyday❤ New Evolution of cars
Competitors envy owners pride
Nissan should have gone with a V6.
I think this can compete against the Crown Signia
Reliability with the super complex engine is a big question.
If you rub the Nissan logo it says Honda underneath
I thought infinity Qx50 used a version of the Gla/Glb twins power train
Infinity is going down
Where do I sign? ✍️
So this is the 2025-2035 Murano
First to see the embargo end for you 🤟
Somehow the front gives me the Azteca vibes….
just yuck .......
It’s ironic that Murano - wherein Mura means inexpensive in Filipino - is actually priced really high. 😂 at least for me.
getting higher and higher ...........
Not a fan of those wheels and the push button shifter
2L VCT engine = trouble
Compares with a 1966 Studebaker … just before they go out of business? 😮
Nissans upscale models like the Maxima and Murano always competed with entry level luxury models from Infiniti .
I rather this than a QX-50 and I liked the Maxima more than the Q 50 .
Love the car but the engine worries me
Why can't Nissan introduce more hybrid and plug in hybrid models? That's costing them a lot.
The natural competitor would be the CX-70.
CX-70 hands down.
Na, it’s much bigger, almost 7” longer
apparently 7 inches don't make a big difference to people
Nissan does not want to be without an entry in the booming entry level luxury suv segment after they discontinue Infiniti
Variable compression engine.....very bad idea...ask Scotty
The styling is not my cup of tea, but it sounds like it’s now class competitive.
Murano has also been 'unique', now even more weird.
Well, as I watch more reviews of this vehicle, it's growing on me. A little bit anyway 🙂
@@jsfbay1 need to see this in person I guess ...
Another competitor: the redesigned Tiguan?
