Wollo Sefer looks empty, with hardly any businesses. Abiy and Adanech are making the roads and sidewalks nice, but what is the point if no one can park their to go into the businesses? what is the point of these modern sidewalks if hardly anyone uses them because there are no businesses around? Wide roads make it unsafe to cross the road because the cars are moving too fast, , wide roads introduce noise and pollution. Who would want to pay to live next to a dangerous wide road with noise and car fumes? All in all, poor planning, as usual.
Your user name says nytoaddis and I presume you live in New York. Your conclusion, wide sidewalks cause more accidents is absurd. What's your reasoning? Wider sidewalks along with bicycle routes encourage people to walk and ride bicycles more, and consequently less carbon emissions that means less pollution. When you build roads and other infrastructures you should consider cities population growth. In 2040, that's less than 20 years Ethiopia's population expected to reach 181,000,000. There are other policies you can criticize but objecting the construction of wider sidewalks is ridiculous.
@@MrWosensj Of course wide sidewalks don't cause more accidents, it's absurd that you concluded I wrote that. I wrote about how wide ROADS are unsafe in a city, and in fact, a lot of work has been done in New York to narrow main roads with bike lanes and parking. The way these roads are being widened in Addis Ababa, they are encouraging speeding.
