I have been hoping for a long, long time that you would eventually cover Marjoe. When my kids were school age, I made his documentary required viewing. Fingers crossed that one day you'll be able to meet this man.
I love him, and I love his wife. When he said the dog came in a wheelchair, she died. I saw her fall out of the camera, and when she came back in, she was clutching her heart.
My first exposure to Marjo was a Netflix episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 called Star Crash where he played an android. That made his origin story even more fascinating to me.
As far as the tone these preachers speak in....... Look into Clancy Brown and how he prepared for the role of Brother Justin in the show "Carnivale". He learned from some preacher back in that time but I don't remember his name.
Even though this isn't religious, I was wondering if you'd ever get into the horror stories of the troubled teen industry. One of the worst schools for troubled teens was a school in Maine, called the Elan school. Kids were removed from their homes and sent to this abusive school and constantly yelled at by staff members and fellow students as a form of therapy, which did more psychological damage than anything else. If you ever get a chance, look into the Elan school, it's a place where plenty of mistreatment and scumbaggery ran rampant. If Marjoe Gortner was ever willing to talk publicly to anyone, it would most likely be you, Owen. You do a great job in exposing preacher scams and so on. Keep on doing it, bro.
imagine going up to that guy and saying "i LOVE your pants!" ps- i read 6 big fat books on howard hughes and more than 10 on jim jones/peoples temple and i have yet to meet anyone who isn't freaked out by how much i know about them both. books are way superior. reading books takes focused effort and the head tends to retain that knowledge better than throwaway quick google searches. i don't know if you'll be able to find any books about this exceedingly niche "-UH" subject. it might be more like researching a family tree. its a hypnotic speech pattern.
Respecting people and respecting ideas are two different concepts. You can respect all people without needing to respect their culture or values. Sacredness is itself a problematic concept. The idea that something is sacred means it is forbidden to question or doubt it's value. I respect that a thing may be sacred to you, but you don't have the right to force me to treat it as sacred.
i love the term 'anti-theist' and its neat to hear someone else use it. i don't know if there's a god, but i don't BELIEVE it, and i don't WANT there to be one. i usually just call myself an atheist to be quick and easy about it, but when the digging comes around, i don't know. i just hope this life is the be all, end all and i try to conduct myself in an ethical manner during my term on earth. 'agnostic' is a bad fit for me, it feels like a big fat shrug rather than a solid considered stance. it's total madness to send me to hell simply because i will die a disbeliever. maybe god is real, and certifiably mad. i'll take my chances.
Funny that you mention Hassellhoff, because he was in a movie with the Hoff.

Could you do a video trying to find the origin of Christian oddities like the vocal tick, backwards records, etc?
I'd like that too.

my dad and brothers used to watch that
Seems like DJT learnt some things from these scammers.
Strangely there's documented evidence of him meeting with faith healers etc.
I heard the whole "something happened - and it's GONNA happen!" and just couldn't not hear DJT's voice. That preacher patter is really something...
Can God deliver a baby?
Can God deliver a pizza?
Can God deliver a court summons?

He sounds like Arlo Guthrie from 'Alice's Restaurant'.

Love you Owen. Keep exposing the bullshit!
I think respect is not given but earned.
I also think that others are inferior
And Soundwave superior.
Hello y'all. First here. Have a nice day
29st
There is nothing interesting listening to the screaming and yelling.
Its bad , its really bad what you do to people
Yes, Marjoe was an evil, evil person. Thankfully he exposed the nonsense about the claims of Christianity.
Who's doing a what now?
