BtVS is one of the most complicated shows ever made. It will make laugh so hard that you can't breathe, cry so much that you don't know if you'll ever be happy again, piss you off to the point where you want to murder Joss Whedon, and creep you the fuck out... Often at the same time.
Scenes like this make me wonder what the hell the citizens of Sunnydale not in the know thought was going on. I mean, they had the "crackheads on PCP" story for vampire attacks, there were probably rumors of gangs that'd attack people while wearing monster masks, that's . . . not *too* hard to accept, if you mostly stay in at night to avoid the gangs. A town-wide case of laryngitis is a bit of a stretch, but without the details you might end up joining a protest against a factory suspected of contaminating the water supply with something that numbed the vocal cords. But once you've been a part of a perfectly-coordinated musical number despite any prior lack of singing or dancing training, how would that affect your perception of reality? Even if you were at least a little aware of the vampires, this wouldn't fit.
Lmfao I managed to get some of my old bandmates from highschool to do this in front of my fave dry cleaners in chicago during rush hour lmao im gonna post the video as soon as i get the sound to sync with the video!!!!

Buffy opens the door to witness what you see in the clip and then realizes that this is affecting everyone, not just them.
Joss appeared playing piano in an episode that foreshadowed this one, in which Giles, Buffy, Xander and I think Willow all had dreams in which the only two constants were something moving just beyond their perception, and the "cheese man." When asked about the cheese man in a later interview, he simply replied "The cheese man is important."
+Jaysteeny Buggerlastnames He only appeard in one episode, in the first season, and it was just a news caster voice. He had a much more fun role in Angel, played Numfar.
