How To Fix A Leaning Fence Post-Easiest Method

- In this video, I show you how to fix a leaning fence post easily. It is a really simple process and you only need a few small and inexpensive things to get it done. This is definitely not a pretty fix and it doesn't look perfect, but it gets the job done and the fence post will be secure and straight. If you are looking for a fix for your leaning fence post that will look great, then you are better off replacing it with a brand new one and painting it to match the preexisting fence posts and wooden sections. Other than that, this fix gets the job done and keeps the fence post straight. It is also one of the cheapest ways to fix your fence post, and can easily be done by any home owner.

Great idea if you need a quick repair that costs very little. An idea would be to have someone to hold the fence firmly in place while you drilled to save all the unscrewing but of course we don’t always have help when we need it. Thanks for the video it’s helped me to see another way to fix the problem.

And you leave that metal post there? That’s not very nice looking. I thought you were going to do something else to then be able to remove the post and fence stay straight.
I used a ratcheting strap to a nearby tree, but before that I dug out the post, especially the backside (the side fence leans away from. This was about 6 posts so I did 3 at a time using the next 2 to help reduce stress from the one I was actually working on I straightened the post and then added concrete to my holes. 2 important notes. The fence was solid except for the lean. 2. This is very hard work. End result was fantastic though and it was a permanent fix.

don't mind all the haters, it's a hack, a decent hack for what it is. My question, how hard was it to drive that metal post 4 feet into the ground how did you hammer that down so far? ladder? other mechanism?

I know of no one that puts the posts 3 ft below the ground..and I live where it freezes in winter
Just an additional comment, I like this method and I will tell you why this works for me. The neighbors do not contribute anything to maintaining the fence and the way our fence is leaning puts the pole on their side of the fence in a seldom used side yard that is close to their house, they are slobs and the yard is not maintained. So the ugly part is on their side, lol
