- This is a 5-second clip from Microsoft's HoloLen's Trailer a couple of years ago. Windows 8/10 doesn't come with a specific startup sound. But if you dig a bit, it shares the same Vista/7 tune. Therefore, the above video is only a suggestion/feedback for a new startup sound.

Microsoft is gonna regret this choice. I'm pretty sure by October 2025 Windows 10 still keeps 50% of the entire Windows market share. By the way did you ever hear this startup sound? Mine was always Windows 7.
Fake it's a holo trailer windows 10 has a startup sound but not this one it uses vista/7 startup sound but disblased by default
I love it, it just fits well with the older, futuristic startup sounds. 2000, NT 4 and 5 are still the best tho.

Because after 1903 update,Windows 10 startup sound has been changed to Windows 7/Vista sound

and i know about the 3 tone boot sound bit its really the login sound not really the boot. the boot is the same lazy windows vista boot sound. i have it enabled but it only woks if you have windows fast boot off

That happens. I think maybe the Win7 startup is the current Windows startup sound. It makes sense, since the first startup sound was used for 9 versions from 1992 to 1995. (That's a lot of versions!)

FYI, you can enable a startup sound in Windows 8/8.1; however, it's the same one as Vista and 7.

there is a startup sound but it is the same as windows 7 and vista. to make it work you need to go to the sound settings on the control panel tick "play windows startup sound", than turn off fast startup. and see how it works out for you

I have looked at tutorials for this, and yes you can have a custom startup sound for Windows 10. I’ve done Windows 95 to XP, and works like a charm

This probably qualifies as Microsoft's most boring sound/tune in their history. Even Windows Vista/7/8 had a better startup sound when compared to this. Their best themes came from Windows XP, in my opinion.

Windows 10 Startup is the one reused from Windows VIsta/7
The Windows 10 Startup is a short sound. It’s not Vista/7 startup. Although the Vista/7 startup is the main one, while the short sound one is the second. The Vista/7 startup is to check the box “Play Windows Start-up sound” in System sound settings. The Windows Startup is a sound in C:\Windows\Media.
Windows 10 re-added the ability to have a startup sound in an update, but it's just reused from Windows 7

This WAS probably created in alpha/beta testings before scrapping the idea (like usual, since Microsoft has become USELESS and LAZY in my opinion, and they are running out of ideas too probably.

Windows 8 did have a logon sound, just seek for "Windows Logon.wav", even in Windows 10 it's still here, and I think Win10 also uses it.
