    1. The last scene was shot in Ladakh, India. It is a cold desert.
    2. The drone shown over here in the first part of this movie was actually created by a man I forgot his name. He is an entrepreneur now running th largest drone startup in India.
    3. The character of Rancho is based on a real personality named Sonam Wangchuk. He is widely admired personality in India.

This movie is inspired by a novel "five points someone life" written by an Engineer. He wrote most of the things from experiences in his college.. only the ending is completely changed. Pushing from top of the abdomen actually helps in bringing the baby out, in case of difficult deliveries - like in this movie, when mothers become too exhausted and cannot push hard by herself. I had assissted in vacuum suction deliveries and it’s a real medical emergency and i’m glad that the movie stayed close to the facts .. this is a great movie and i was glad to have watched it in 2012.. later on, i attended a medical college in india (i’m malaysian btw) and the indian culture is just so fascinating and i enjoyed their movies! You can try veggie samosa, masala dosa, these have spiced potato mixture inside. Samosa is popular in the northern part of India and is eaten as a snack. Whereas, Dosa is prominently eaten in South India, and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch as well as dinner. Both of them are served with chutneys. These are 2 popular vegetarian indian food options to get started and acquainted with.

" Give me some sunshine" is our anthem of school and college students specially final year of during farewell 😢. Any way the whole movie was shoot in India. Because India has everything from Snowy Mountains, desert , Heavenly beaches with turquoise water, tropical jungle, rain forest, delta , islands, like everything. But you just have to know. Even most of the Indian people don't know, outside of those people who travels a lot. And next obviously 'Dangal'.

That child birth scene gets me every single time even after so many years. The character of Amir khan is loosely based on a real scientist - Sonam Wangchuk.
You got most from this part too. The scene where Virus shuts down the tune with hand. You can stop now.
I forgot in the previous part - Rancho sits in any class with the lecture. He sat in the class of the senior - the same guy who was about to pee outside his door.
This place is Laddakh - China has created disputes over this place since 2020.
How are Indian movies different from Hollywood? Put that in one of the videos.
Do you guys want to see - English Vinglish ? It is quite under rated but partly filmed in USA. That could be an incentive.

It was fun to watch it in a fast forward with you all. Great to know you also liked the movie. Fun facts -
“Will sue you in American Court” is used by silencer as a taunt on speed of the case proceedings in India. There are a lot of people in the country which means it’s really difficult to speed up the overall court proceedings. You don’t know when you can get the next date of trial if the facts are incomplete in front of a judge so it usually takes ages in complex trials. It’s not really easy to manage that many cases but they try their level best. Because of this there is now provision for faster proceedings in fastrack courts, for those special cases where you want faster results.
The price tags used in the movie are in INR, you need to convert em into USD to check how much it translates into. Example - watch was costing 4Lacs in INR that translates to 4800 USD approx.
Monsoon Rains - it is a bit exaggerated that ambulance can’t come for pick up but yes it can happen if the rain continues for a few days. Certain parts of some cities can get flooded like how they showed it. Not usual but considering the plot and creative freedom of the makers, it is not very hard to believe.
College pressure - very true portrayal. Being a mechanical Engineer myself (a bad one like farhan😅), me and my frnds faced this issue and have stories to share for whole life ahead but once you are out you also tend to inherit an unstoppable attitude no matterwhat. I don’t mean that the pressure made us all super hard working, no, not at all, but once you handle that pressure, you can better handle the pressure situations in future.
Parental Expectations - very true for middle class families. India is probably one of the top countries with so many economic classes in the society. As is portrayed in salary comparisons of raju, farhan, and rancho’s father, you can probably see the difference of earnings and it’s true. From richest to poorest all in one country. Still there is an unspoken understanding on all of this and people are living in their own worlds. And there are products out there in the market for every buyer. Name any product from a car to pen, you can get most expensive to most useful and value for money products all in the same city. And that also makes India a hot market for new businesses. Every family wants to jump a little higher on the social economic scale and first method they all see is by getting good education for their kids and push them to best colleges. Trust me, the competition is cut throat. So best of the best get that chance and that is why you have now started seeing such people at higher positions in many companies.
i guess that’s all. Good to know you all liked the movie, it is actually a good one. Thanks for sharing the reaction. Cheers.

Yes, it does flood like that in India when it pours. Sometimes even worse. Our monsoon is wild.
And funny you mentioned Patch Adams, 3 Idiots is the third movie directed by Raju Hirani. His first movie "Munnabhai MBBS" is heavily inspired/remake of Patch Adams. Please watch that movie after this, you'll not regret it.

I taught this film to Grade 7 (Form 1) students in Hong Kong for ten years. In some cases, they applauded at the end. We looked at suicide and the education system. One interesting point: When Virus speaks to Rancho and says he cannot always be right and he has to change, he appears to also be speaking to himself as he realises his errors. Virus, though the villain, is admirable in many ways: hyper intelligent, a director, ambidextrous, a success in his education system, and a father who helped to raise two wonderful girls and give them a great life, encouraging them to excel. Sadly, he pressured his son by imposing his own expectations, leading to the suicide. But as the film shows, we leave Virus as a more compassionate and understanding individual, rounder and dynamic as a character.

Dahi Aloo (Potatoes in Yogurt Gravy):

3-4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and cubed
      1 cup plain yogurt (curd)
      1 teaspoon cumin seeds
      1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
      1 teaspoon garam masala
      Salt to taste
      Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
      2 tablespoons oil
      Instructions:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

India's seasons are as diverse as her people. In case of the monsoon season, parts of India get little to no rain. On the contrary, the rest of the country often sees enough downpour that they might as well say that they suffer from it. On some parts, landslides, floods and overflowing rivers are an annual disaster.
The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore served as the location for ICE, the college in the movie. Bangalore sees anywhere from 500 mm to 1350 mm of rainfall every year whith an average of about 970 mm. That means almost a meter of water every year, most of which comes down at once within the span of a month and a half. And that's the case in the movie.
I bet that was also the most touching moment in the movie for the expectant mother. I *kinda* suggest another movie that discussed similar topics with similar vibes, and was also a big hit. "Chhichhore"(2019). Unfortunately, the brilliant actor who played the male lead in the movie had a controversial end, but the movie is a well loved commemorative for his fans till date.

50:57 indian Cuisine from East India and North East India has potatoes in everything. Although the kind of Indian food you might find in the United States is only North Indian Cuisine which is known all over the world as "Indian food". But the cuisines from each region is vastly different. In north east the cuisine is more closer to South East Asian cuisine like Thai, Vietnamese, and other oriental cuisines and mostly it's non vegetarian whereas North Indian cuisine is mostly vegetarian and known for being spicy and oily.
South Indian cuisine has a lot of coconut like food prepared with coconut oil. West India have their own stuff.
Also another movie that you can check out starting Aamir Khan as well as directed by him is taare zameen par (like stars on earth in the international market). It's a very sweet movie that will move you and deal with things like dyslexia and parenting. As expectant parents I guess you might enjoy that movie as well.
