While not the best, you can also easily bait interaction with Ancient Gear Fortress, since that forces interaction to allow for interactions down the line (Branded Lost for Ancient Gear) Still not the overall craziest, but it is A home.
the only use case I really see for Theia is that if you can get an extra level 4+ body on board with Desirae going first so that you can use the Desirae negate to stop something then use him and the extra body to bring out Theia so that they only have 4 more summons to deal with the rest of your board

Like committing 3 cards into 1 (outside of the case with guardian chimera where you can potentially get 2 of the 3 lost cards back while also popping a card) is already bad since your going -3 for 1 body, the spell + 3 monsters to make the fusion is -4 but then you get a body so it ends as a -3 which sucks. I feel like an easy fix for heavy poly and greater poly was just make it so the player using them can also use cards from the deck but NOT ONLY FROM THE DECK. For example if this card said you can fuse a fusion that requires 3 or more mats, you can use mats from your hand field and deck (1 from each minimum), then I feel like it'd be better and then the extra deck option would be just a bonus. This way the card still has a niche in the decks that summon a lot of 3 mat fusions (gate guardian, blue-eyes, ancient gears, fluffals etc), while still not being a foolish burial for 3 like with what happened to pre errata future fusion where the fusion was more of a bonus and the card was really just foolish burial for 5. instead at most you can only foolish 2 mats from deck, but if branded fusion can do that and still not be banned I doubt it would be that broken. and even then you'd still have to setup for it still by having a mat in hand, and field first along with this semi unsearchable card (thrusts and left arm offering gets it but not much else) in the opening hand.

Maybe Im dont get it but isnt Theia supposed to be used going 1st? Like you set up your board, have this in your hand (maybe search it with granite) Then your opp tries to break your board, maybe they imperm a moster or droplet you or smth, you just tribute a couple of your guys summon this and your opponent stop playing cause floodgate. I am asuming this will work like summon limit, the only reason summon limit doesnt have the 2nd part is casue its old. This card neither reads like winda or summon limit so we have to wait and see. The "Each player can only Special Summon monster(s) once per turn" from winda is probably not the same as, Neither player can summon more than 4 times.
"your opponent stop playing cause floodgate" your opponent doesn't stop playing because this is the mildest floodgate known to man. "This card neither reads like winda " What are you talking about, it's almost exactly the same wording, the only difference is that the restriction is worded positively in Winda's case and negatively in Theia's case: "Each player can only Special Summon monster(s) once per turn while this card is face-up on the field" "Neither player can Normal and/or Special Summon more than 4 times per turn while this card is face-up in the Monster Zone."
If theia got good and sp was banned people would just play Knightmare Cerberus instead. That is if they don't have an in archetype way to out a BEWD in 4 summons.
@DonPiantissimo No one played cerberus before, and no one is gonna start now. The only way which cerberus would be played is if Theas is in every deck, which given the requirement, it can't.
This card is just a nibiru Follow up; acter you nibiru and can't out the token because it's too thicc, you just tribute nibiru to summon this guy and pop the token.
Hmmm i personally think Theia is mid its good cause you can force your opponent to skip turn after being nib'd or they have to burn another card to out it. We just need a Rock archetype to take advantage of it now.
I do not get it, -nibirus effect can be negated, because tribute is part of the effect, but theia tribute as cost, so it is harder to stop. -nibiru is just good going second, because you tribute the whole field, but theia is good going first and second, because you can also just tribute the opponents field if they have -nibiru gives the opponent a strong token you need to deal with, theia do not do that -after tribute special, nibiru do not do more, theia can rarely destroy one more card, or have a most of time irrelevant mini summon limit effect But right now i did not think about, how often or how fast different decks get level 11 or higher to the same time on board Do i miss here something, or get i something wrong ?
Oh, ok, now i get it You use theia after nibiru, tribute away your nibiru, destroy the nibiru token and if your oppent rebuild his board, he can just use 4 summons, after his last 5th summon nibiru tributed everything away. That is why people say theia is inside nibiru.
@@flappy7305 Theia isn't "inside" Nibiru, they're different things inside different rocks. Nibiru is a similar being to Theia, stuck in a different rock. They're talked about together because they are obviously thematically matched, not because they work the same way.

Yes because thats exactly what we need, more backrow deck hate. If it targeted face up spell/trap cards then atleast it would have outed floodgates while keeping trap decks away from the splash zone lmao.
This card is a pretty neat win con for decks with rank 4 access, you make your normal board and then on the opponents turn tribute your used monsters and flood them out. Very few decks can play under this floodgate effect
Literally every deck can play under this floodgate effect. Even if you have the most budget of budget decks, you could just make something like Knightmare Cerberus and go on with your plays.
Easy to run in spright sideboard, especially if you go toadally first turn and melffy second turn. You get toadally summon frog (1), melffy pinny (2), melffy synchro to herald (3), then drop this bad boy. If you have Azurune it's even easier.
I'm seeing a completely different, more toxic use scenario for this card. A player goes first, set's up an omni negate board, use the negates on your opponent's turn, then after the opponent has summoned 4 times, u drop this and it basically ends their turn. I see it as a going FIRST ONLY, side deck card. You can also use it to dodge an Imperm or Veiler on your negate monster.
Theia would be good if it was only 1 more Summon, like Winda, but that would be a bit too much and also still seems like overkill at the same time. It's a neat idea, but it's just too situational. Is your opponent really going to Summon more than 4 times after Nibiru in most cases? No. Maybe we'll see more of these mystery planet Primal Beings.
2:18 I believe the way this is actually is suppose to be used is not by the person who used nibiru, it's by the person who got hit by nibiru. If you get hit by nibiru then you tribute the nibiru token pop their nibiru and now they're locked under 4 summons with no bodies on board. It's not suppose to be a win more card it's suppose to be a nibiru counter.
But this doesn't counter anything, it just means you now have a different guy instead of a token. If anything, it makes your board worse, because at least sometimes when your opponent has Nibiru they're bricked and you can kill them with the token.
@@hannessteffenhagen61 this objectively doesn't make your board worse though? You're trading a token that does nothing for a bad summon limit so at least you're actually ending on something.

"your opponent stop playing cause floodgate"
your opponent doesn't stop playing because this is the mildest floodgate known to man.
"This card neither reads like winda "
What are you talking about, it's almost exactly the same wording, the only difference is that the restriction is worded positively in Winda's case and negatively in Theia's case:
"Each player can only Special Summon monster(s) once per turn while this card is face-up on the field"
"Neither player can Normal and/or Special Summon more than 4 times per turn while this card is face-up in the Monster Zone."
Ok so what I basically got from this video is I misunderstood how this card worked. I thought it was way better than how he described it. Now I know
I definitely see it having more use than you mentioned, but yeah, S:P kills this thing. If S:P gets banned, then this gets scary in certain decks.
If theia got good and sp was banned people would just play Knightmare Cerberus instead. That is if they don't have an in archetype way to out a BEWD in 4 summons.
@DonPiantissimo
No one played cerberus before, and no one is gonna start now. The only way which cerberus would be played is if Theas is in every deck, which given the requirement, it can't.
Chaos Ancient Gear Giant seems the most reasonable target for Heavy Poly, since that deck is already going blind second to OTK.
100%, you could also use for some of the cydra fusions but ancient gear synergies way more
Can’t you use this to counter nib? If they give you a nib token can’t you use this card to tribute your token
This card is just a nibiru Follow up; acter you nibiru and can't out the token because it's too thicc, you just tribute nibiru to summon this guy and pop the token.
Eeey, digimon world 3, banger soundtrack
Hmmm i personally think Theia is mid its good cause you can force your opponent to skip turn after being nib'd or they have to burn another card to out it. We just need a Rock archetype to take advantage of it now.
Heavy poly new Mimighoul support?!?!
Memento fools
I do not get it,
-nibirus effect can be negated, because tribute is part of the effect, but theia tribute as cost, so it is harder to stop.
-nibiru is just good going second, because you tribute the whole field, but theia is good going first and second, because you can also just tribute the opponents field if they have
-nibiru gives the opponent a strong token you need to deal with, theia do not do that
-after tribute special, nibiru do not do more, theia can rarely destroy one more card, or have a most of time irrelevant mini summon limit effect
But right now i did not think about, how often or how fast different decks get level 11 or higher to the same time on board
Do i miss here something, or get i something wrong ?
theia only lets you tribute your own monsters
theia doesnt tribute opp monsters.
Okay, why people talk about nibiru 2 if it does not tribute opponents monster, that confused me 😅
Oh, ok, now i get it
You use theia after nibiru, tribute away your nibiru, destroy the nibiru token and if your oppent rebuild his board, he can just use 4 summons, after his last 5th summon nibiru tributed everything away.
I don’t think it will be playable unless it’s searchable
The first thing I thought when I saw heavy poly, was "oh wow, that's an easy way to setup a really hard to out PEP"
PEP the lvl 11 synchro monster?
@@Iluvblazikenpep Guardiola the football coach
@@Iluvblaziken Yes
Unless we get another card that summoning it self like bystial but lv 11-12 it unplayable cus if you using like bystial to summon it, it was too many minus for this work as hand trap i wonder if we can make it work for other than hand trap.
Basically after you nib with this in hand, you can tribute your nib and destroy the token then they can't summon anymore for that turn
i think how it ACTUALLLY is supposed to be used, is by searching this using granite before 5 summons so when ur opp drops nib on you u can have this in hand, and summoning it tributing the token then popping opp nib and floodgating them
@@slimbenhamadi still niche but I understand
Spoiler, the answer is no
NO ITS NOT
So Theia is a worse Niberu and a worse summon limit.
Yes theorically
Because it need a lot of setup and less restricted than summon limit itself
Hear me out: theia plus lair of darkness? If you play niberu and tribute everything, you can then just tribute the token for theia and then stop all summons right? Or just tribute a big bungus on their side
That requires you to have a specific 3 card hand and to go first. Not exactly a smart idea of activate lair of darkness then passing on your first turn lmao
@@harukonoe4248 but have you considered the intimidation factor of lair of darkness pass?
u cant tribute opponent's monsters but i think how it ACTUALLLY is supposed to be used, is by searching this using granite before 5 summons so when ur opp drops nib on you u can have this in hand, and summoning it tributing the token then popping opp nib and floodgating them
@@slimbenhamadi lair of darkness allows you to use one of your opponent’s monsters
For a tribute, so theoretically you can use one of your opponent’s level 11+ monsters for theia. But this is a dumb idea since lair of darkness isn’t exactly the most competitive deck.
@@blue-eyeswhitekirbo2543 Also what level 11+ monster are you tributing lol, there are only a handful in the meta and they either have negates printed on them or are not a big deal if they get tributed.
Josh’s chat makes me lose brain cells. No, Heavy Polymerization cannot fusion summon Hugin. Or Dragon Master Magia.
But i feel like if you let your oponent cook and have 3 or more monster as end board its better to just use sphere mode 😂
And for going 2nd in a fusion deck, super poly is prolly better
Cannot tribute opponents monsters.
Couldnt you also tribute the token when you get nibiru‘d and then „lock“ your opponent as a counter? Not that it makes it good
And it can be negated 🤣 it can't even hit Xyz or Links, or tribute the opponent's stuff lol. maybe that's why the art is angry
@@ERRandDEL it destroys the highest ATK monster on the field so it can hit Link and Xyz monsters. Also, almost every hand trap out there can be negated so what's exactly your point?
@@6210classick Oh, yeah, you're totally right about that (I was focused on the tribute aspect of it)
They could've easily made this for s/t cards!
"If your opponent has set 2 or more spell/trap cards this turn, you can send all set s/t cards your opponent controls to the grave and special summon this card from your hand. If this card was special summoned using this effect, your opponent can set 1 s/t card of their choice from their deck. While this card is face up on the field, S/T cards can not be activated the turn they are set(to bypass any effects that allow you to activate s/t the turn theyre set and lock opponents normal spells).
Just a thought🤷🏾♂️
@@kyounokaien I ask you to revisit this comment in a week or so from now.
Effect is while it's on the field, summons before it hits the board aren't counted towards the limit
Are we forgetting two level 4s make gallant granite and we can search this. Raziel included
This probably is meant to work with primordial
Theia would be good if it was only 1 more Summon, like Winda, but that would be a bit too much and also still seems like overkill at the same time. It's a neat idea, but it's just too situational. Is your opponent really going to Summon more than 4 times after Nibiru in most cases? No. Maybe we'll see more of these mystery planet Primal Beings.
Is this not a floodgate after going full combo in high level monster decks, wait till your opponent makes 4 summons and u just summon this
Theia I think, might slot into high level synchro decks, not just for the summon limit like effect, but also to dodge certain negate effects.
2:18 I believe the way this is actually is suppose to be used is not by the person who used nibiru, it's by the person who got hit by nibiru. If you get hit by nibiru then you tribute the nibiru token pop their nibiru and now they're locked under 4 summons with no bodies on board.
It's not suppose to be a win more card it's suppose to be a nibiru counter.
nope its follow up after you Nibiru bcs this thing is what inside Nibiru so its lore accurate
@@sandstorm7790 it makes it worse because that card in your hand could have been a good card instead. Heck, nobody plays monster reborn and barely anyone plays solemns, but you'd much rather have those than this guy after getting nibiru'd, and more importantly they're not dead if you're not nibiru'd.
It requires you to draw it and something else very specific happening, so it’s almost impossible this card would ever come up. Trash.
I feel like he completely missed the point of the anti Nib monster. You would play this in a deck that not only loses to Nibiru, but can hard summon him when you don’t get Nibbed. Ritual Beast and HEROES come to mind
@@WhatsUrName0o7 so you get nibbed, summon this, and then what? the floodgate eff is a joke as most decks can make s:p in exactly 4 summons to out this.
So you have to have theia in hand, play into nib, then go -1 on top of being nib
That doesn't sound like a good play
he didn't miss anything because what you described is bad
Wait, you have to tribute your own monsters? This is worthless.
this isn't a defense of the card, as it's still quite bad, but how the fuck is josh just completely missing that this card is meant to be a _counter_ to an opponent's resolved nibiru, not something you're meant to pair with your own nibiru
you tribute the primal being token and use its effect to destroy the nibiru on your opponent's board, leaving them with hypothetically no monsters and summon limit at home

If Heavy Polymerization was able to use 2 materials to summon a monster that requires at least 3 materials then that first line of text would have been redundant so how about ya do research and learn how to read card or effects first then come back so that we can have meaningful discussion
did anyone hear notice that this car does not specify monsters you control to Tribute
this thing can tribute your opponent's monsters so long as the levels equal 11.
it still makes it way too specific to be able to see play, but it's a very important thing when reading this card.
@@TbirdGT500 It's the opposite, because the card doesn't specify that ya can tribute your opponent monsters it means that by default, ya have to tribute your own, that's how it is ruled
