He should have shut his mouth and build and made as much money as he ever needed. It was perfect. But no, he just had to blow it up. Him and his love for his wife! He just had to be the romantic. If he had done his job, known his place, he'd be fine right now!
If Ziegler and his German team had known they were working for dangerous criminals, they might have kept quiet, continued their work, and counted themselves lucky to survive in the end. However, Gus ensured they never learned the full truth. Had they been aware, many of them likely wouldn’t have accepted the job in the first place. Even by the project’s end, Ziegler and his crew seemed oblivious to the true risks, as shown by Ziegler’s carefree behavior at the bar and his team’s at the club. They wouldn’t have been so at ease if they had known their lives were at stake. For Ziegler, the worst outcome he anticipated before his escape was likely a breach of contract, unpaid wages, and a ticket home-not the deadly consequences he ultimately faced.
@@vnXun Yes, he‘s speaking German when it‘s originally English. The dub is really good. Mike‘s VA is the same as Batman‘s from the animated series haha
I think of this quote alllll the time. My walk back from the parking lot to my apartment at night is so beautiful with the stars. Plus sigma in overwatch the German guy says lines about stars that sound like his voice so I also get that vibe from the game
I don't think Werner fully knew what he got himself into and the kind of person he was working for that is why he spoke on the project freely but with caution. He just thought these are serious and secretive people that's as far as it goes. That is why he asks if there is no other way. His story is truly sad cause he had no bad intentions
Walter in Breaking bad takes the alias of Heisenberg. However, The full name of the scientist which inspired this alias was Werner Heisenberg. Cool parallel between these characters
Werner Heisenberg, two highly qualified, highly intelligent employees of Gus Fring. One is innocent, loyal and humble and other is ruthless, unpredictable, as if they are the two sides of the same coin
I swear to god I was thinking the same. I get really carsick if not driving or shotgun, and ain't no way I'm going to down an entire bottle of water after being about to hurl. Edit: carrick to carsick
I don't know why so many people feel bad for Werner. He got a job working with very dangerous and serious men and he screwed up MULTIPLE times. The guy was a dumbass. I feel bad for Mike, not Werner.
He didn't take the hush-hush part of the job seriously enough BUT he wasn't given any information regarding who he was working for. The $ and simple geography should have given him an indication that he was building something for somebody related to the cartel. He had loose lips in the bar and he actually drew a schematic on a cocktail napkin and gave it to a random. Then he ran off. He really just should have waited. It's not like he was in Vietnam. If he finished the job, he was guaranteed to see his wife again. GUARANTEED. Then he mucked it all up by playing spy games. Poor guy. I don't think he would have accepted the job if he knew exactly who he was working for.
How didn't he deserve it? He got into business with dangerous, serious men and then made stupid decision after stupid decision. Blabbed to damn near anyone he could within earshot. He got off easy.
Mike COULD have let him live. He had the ingenuity to do so. Stash him somewhere. Move him across the border when Mike has his next day off (at his age no way was the guy working EVERY SINGLE DAY for Gus...) and fly him home from Mexico. Or get REAL creative and smuggle him into Germany via a shipping container. Kidding about that last one.
I just don’t understand why he took his fate so easily before going to ‘look at the stars’. He obviously knew what was gonna happen but people generally have a fight or flight and if it’s literally your last roll of the dice you tend to get desperate and either try to fight or run away 🤷♂️
Not necessarily true. In that situation, running or some last desperate ditch at fighting against the inevitable fate is weakness. Better to hold your dignity, accept your fate and face it with held held high. He wanted those beautiful stars to be the last thing he saw, the awe of their magnificence to be the last thing he felt along with the comfort of knowing he died with dignity an composure. (It's a bit of a 'man thing' I suppose. Placed in the same scenario, I would like to hope that I too could die with the same strength).
@@venn7eance925Amen to that. I've faced death and understood. I've beaten it several times but when I won't I'll be ok with it, I just hope I can still appreciate the stars.

It's funny how Werner was the domino that made every event happen the way it did. If Werner had just listened so much could have been avoided, including the death of Howard.
I can’t believe Micheal actually killed him. really made his character seem like Gus owned him like a dog, then he lost nacho at the hands of gus as well. he sold his soul for a few hundred thousand dollars. Kinda makes him seems fitting Walter outsmarted him and Mike got his karma finally.
Mike made the mistake of taking him to the bar. Euros love to talk about themselves and life. Just like I can’t tell you how many Kai’s I met that were from Germany, France, Amsterdam…
I like to think that this is why Mike (eventually) had some sympathy with Jesse’s grief and trauma over having to kill Gale. Werner was in many ways Mike’s version of Gale.
I literally have no idea why, but occasionally I still think of him randomly.

Werner should've known better about working for Gus because Los Pollos Hermanos standards are not to be taken lightly.
He really should have.
If the man had modern hentai games and photorealistic tech to put his wife's face/voice on anything he would've held out
