The Being As An Ocean song dou mean is "the hardest part" and I know what you mean "Lying awake in bed, feeling the spot on my chest, where you used to, where you used to rest your head.." is pretty similar and both Songs, this and BAAO's are two of my fav songs ebrr frol counterparts & baao. Also this song is obviously about Brendans cat who was really sick and he was really close to dying and this cat means the world to Brendan. He said that if his cat died he also might not be here anymore and that his parents put him on suicide watch. So this is probably one of the most important songs he has ever written. I just love brendans lyrics, they touch my feelings at the right point, they make me cry, they make me feel sth and most importantly they help me in many ways. Not a lot of bands can do this to me. Counterparts are one of my fav bands ever and imo are one of the best in all of metalcore, they never released sth I don't like.
They so deserved to be much more famous cause they are really talented. I love this song and the idea it is about one of their pets makes me even more into it!

Unfortunately the video and song are actually quite sad. The song is about the vocalists cat and how it’s really sick. Kuma, Brendan’s cat, recently passed which makes it extremely sad but very fitting for the music video.
That video was CATastrophic Love Counterparts a bunch but it really makes me want new music from TGI. I’m a dog person. Allergic to cats otherwise would probably have one.
This was better than TGI's most recent single, in my opinion. It sounds more like they were covering a Stick to Your Guns song. Very radio rock, very 'hey guys, here's a very basic song to sing a long to'.
