The best prospect team in ages being told no solely due to a lack of competitiveness allows Andretti to do what Americans do best: Sue. Great thing that Liberty is American-based where we have anticompetitive laws to combat exactly this bull Liberty is throwing at Andretti.
Because it would promote unsafe working practices in the pits. Yes, speed is important, but tieing a tangible reward to it instead of a few hundredths or tenths of a second would be asking for injured pit crew members.

I actually tried to do this with Ferrari yesterday because I hate Ferrari and it actually worked because I always started both Leclerc and de Vries on wet tyres with 0% condition, therefore DNFing both drivers for every race. That didn't work for simulated races, though.
