Aviation is nice, to be a captain you have to be brave, a quick thinker, able to multitask and remain composed even at the face of death, you are supposed to be always updated about new regulations, change of routes so reading even before you are airborne is key, captains are supposed to fly a max of 125 hours a month that gives them time to get good rest and time to study. mental health is very vital. Mad respect to captain Sally. Mkurugenzi you are the best respect.

Truly a gifted storyteller.

I know I am a calm guy but this captain is on another level. I listened to the CVR conversation between him and the ATC, the calmness is frightening.

Those floaters are called rafts. They are designed in such a way that if an aircraft sinks the rope attached to the raft separates. There is also a knife attached to raft that can be used to cut the mooring line to separate the the raft from the aircraft. In such situations no one knows how they will react. As usual good story telling.
