Love Live! Superstar!! season 1 has finished airing, and I loved every second of it!
Make sure to watch the show if you haven't already, it's amazing!!
This mashup was fun to make, both songs really compliment each other. However, Starlight Prologue and Snow halation are 4 semitones apart, so I had to pitch shift both of them by two. I left the intro to Snow halation unchanged, because it's not too noticeable when the key changes during the first verse of the mashup.

This is great! How did you get the raw vocals for Starlight Prologue? I’ve been meaning to make a remix but couldn’t find a studio acapella :(
Thanks, I’m happy that you liked the mashup! Unfortunately, there is no studio acapella available, so I had to isolate the vocals myself.
I used the program “Utagoe” to isolate the vocals of Starlight Prologue, then I used FL Studio's EQ to remove the unwanted frequencies. Utagoe is pretty good at isolating vocals.
I recommend looking up a tutorial on isolating vocals with Utagoe, it’s a very useful program!
Forgot how magical the snow halation instrumental was🥺
This makes me think of other similar songs like blueberry train and colorful voice 😅

In the context of this video, “A/B/C…” major signifies what key (scale) the song is in.
For example, the notes in the song Snow halation follow the A major scale while Starlight Prologue follows the C# major scale.
The pitch of both songs were adjusted to be the same key (B major).
This was done so that the song would not be “off-key”. When a song is off-key, it usually ends up sounding wrong/unpleasant.
I hope this explanation somewhat makes sense, I’m not the best at explaining lol 😅

Also, how did you pitch shift the vocals without making them sound like a chipmunk?
In order to make the vocals not sound "chipmunk-y", I used formant preservation when pitch shifting the vocals. This makes the vocals sound more natural when adjusting the pitch.
I used FL Studio to make this mashup, but I'm pretty sure this feature is available on other DAWs as well

Thanks! I used the program “Utagoe” to isolate the vocals. I also used a little bit of EQ to lower the volume of frequencies that I thought had too much artifacts.
Another thing I like to do in order to make the vocals sound more “clean” is putting the audio into a program like ‘iZotope RX’, which uses AI to clean up the vocals.
