That happened to me last year when I got laid off… I applied for unemployment, I assumed it was gonna take two or three weeks, so I kind of got lazy about logging in or checking my mail.
Turns out I, they now wanted to do the Internet identification… Sort of like the same thing they did when I signed up for my TSA pre-check.
So with the Internet identification, the last time I was laid off in 2020… Somehow they had my email address as my old work address which I did not have access to check so that’s some verification email could be sent to my email address
I had to put in an online request and it took about a week or somebody to fix an update my old email address to a current email address .
But I had already surpassed the deadline of getting that fixed and my unemployment claim continuing… So I had to call the unemployment office and physically get through to somebody to tell them. My email address was finally updated and to please continue with my unemployment claim.

I applied and was approved, but my post office sent it back because there was an issue with my mailing address, keep in mind that I had COVID and almost died, so I get my mailing address recertified and by the time I got it certified our governor cancelled our unemployment benefits and they denied me and I have a 12 year old in school. School. Is there anyway I can recovery the benefits. Because I am now almost 4 years behind on my property tax if I don't have it by April of 24 we are going to be homeless. Also I filed for my disability because I just kept getting sicker and sicker from COVID and depression, I was awarded my disability because I had worked for34 years and had earned enough credits, but they only went back 4 or 5 months, so I didn't get my back pay .

They said that l just now became disabled back in May of 23.Don,t get me wrong, l am so greatful for the help l am now receiving, but if I would have gotten my back pay from 2019 I would have been able to catch up on my property taxes and save our home.

I applied for unemployment and qualified, but it looks like its only for 13 weeks. My initial balance for my 13 weeks is about to run out. Will I get the additional 13 weeks to get to the 26 weeks I was told I'd get?
