Yes, Sony wants Kadokawa for Manga and Anime, and it worries me. Kadokawa releases one of my favorite manga series "Trinity Seven". And sony really likes censorship and DEI, and I worry if them buying Kadokawa won't result in one of my favorite series getting censored or completely axed.

The problem is that Japan may not see it that way. Buying Kadokawa means they have near monopoly of Light Novels in the US (Kadokawa has a near monopoly of as it is) but such a business is a drop in a bucket compared to Hitotsubashi, and Netflix still pays out more. All these moves Sony does to "monopolize anime" is really to prevent them from getting eaten alive by Netflix and Amazon like Dramafever did. Bland and sound business decision, for sure. I just don't like the thought of Sony having my info because they are never careful with it.

IIRC Aniplex aka Sony Music Japan act independently from Sony SIE or Playstation, they even made a Switch exclusive game. Essentially Nintendo probably couldn't care less as long as Kadokawa is a seperate entity or managed by Sony Japan, but they probably would start throwing hands if SIE and Playstation is the one managing Kadokawa Games Division. But honestly the Anime monopoly is the bigger reason why Sony wants Kadokawa and its concerning to say the least (I believe Rev made a video about Cruncyroll trying to Westernized anime for Global Audience).

Seen a clip of the logicians pro exclusivity in this regard being a good thing because the developers would only have to optimize and develop for one platform instead of 3 or 4 thus the game being higher quality and arriving sooner. While there is some truth to this its a fanboy argument because there are plenty of examples of high quality games that are multiplat. It doesnt benefit the consumer if say From Software games became exclusive. These games always came to all platforms. The level of hypocrisy we're going to see if this goes through will be tremendous.
If this happens, considering how well FromSoft games sell on PC, Sony would be fools to not do day and date. My guess is they would release to pc a year later... once. The drop in pc sales due to the delay would straighten that out.
That doesn't work like that there's actually contracts on these games so Sony cannot pull anything from Xbox they have to wait up to the contract ends and why Sony do this and makes no sense for them

We found out last year that Sony was looking to purchase Fromsoft as soon as possible because Nintendo went to speak with Fromsoft developers in 2023 to create a new direction for the Legend of Zelda franchise for the Switch NEXT mixing Dark Souls and Zelda gameplay

They already created a Crunchyroll Bootcamp to train studios on "what the global market wants".

As someone who mainly plays on playstation I 100% agree that consolidation and less competition is a bad thing. I want Microsoft, Nintendo and the PC platform to do good so everyone gets pushed to be their absolute best. At the end the customer wins.

IIRC Aniplex aka Sony Music Japan act independently from Sony SIE or Playstation, they even made a Switch exclusive game. Essentially Nintendo probably couldn't care less as long as Kadokawa is a seperate entity or managed by Sony Japan, but they probably would start throwing hands if SIE and Playstation is the one managing Kadokawa Games Division. But honestly the Anime monopoly is the bigger reason why Sony wants Kadokawa and its concerning to say the least (I believe Rev made a video about Cruncyroll trying to Westernized anime for Global Audience).

Seen a clip of the logicians pro exclusivity in this regard being a good thing because the developers would only have to optimize and develop for one platform instead of 3 or 4 thus the game being higher quality and arriving sooner.
While there is some truth to this its a fanboy argument because there are plenty of examples of high quality games that are multiplat. It doesnt benefit the consumer if say From Software games became exclusive. These games always came to all platforms.

There is no reason to buyout studios, the video game industry makes 20 to 40 times the money the movie industry makes, the reasons you give for that consolidation are bogus at best, not to say entirely false. It's going to kill creative freedom and the originality of these games to be sparkled with corporate atrocities like unbridled monetization, censorship, battle passes, it does not just mean video games from fromsoft, but the pure unbridled creativity that also exists in a lot of anime and manga productions, you didn't think this through long enough for this one. If Sony acquires it it's gonna be the end of way too many things under corporate umbrella's of ethics department and financial constraints.
