Batson venous plexus, also known as Batson veins, are a network of paravertebral veins with no valves that connect thoracic veins and deep pelvic veins draining the bladder, prostate, and rectum with the internal vertebral venous plexus.
Nice explanation sir..I am currently in final year of my school and I prefer biology further in higher education. Just a query , does prostate gland disintegrates excess fluid just as it happens with sperm and seminal vesicles fluids.. This is something I didn't find in any book ?
First: nice name (June July) Second: Functions of the prostate: 1. Secretion of seminal fluid (prostatic fluid). The fluid is alkaline to neutralize the acidity of the vagina (the sperms die in acidic medium). The fluid contains acid phospatase. Acid phosphatase increases in prostate cancer due to obstruction of the ducts of the glands. 2. May secrete prostaglandins, it was thought to be produced by the prostate gland. but they are produced by the seminal vesicles. 3. The prostate makes a protein called PSA, which can be measured by a blood test. If PSA is high, prostate cancer is more likely, but an enlarged prostate can also cause a high PSA. But I'm asking what happens to fluids in prostate gland in general when not ejaculated ? say,unused sperms gets disintegrated and thereby after taking essential part ,body throws it in urine. So is there any similar lifetime for prostate fluid after which body disintegrates it and produces it.? As far as I understand, reproduction being continuous ,body generates and disintegrates them when unused and the process is continuous.

Accumulation of fluid in the prostate causes prostate congestion followed by erection and ejaculation (the morning erection is a sign of prostate congestion). If ejaculation doesn't occur, the fluid is reabsorbed by the body or released via nocturnal emissions called “wet dreams”.

That's what we thought it to be,the reason for asking is our school book mentions about sperm lifetime and disintegration but it doesn't say disintegration of seminal fluids/secretions. But because it comes under reproduction unlike other secretions like urine/feces,we analysed it to be regular body product under cycles which can absorb essential parts and throw the rest through urine. Not sure why it's not mentioned or may be we are dumb not to understand. Anyways it's good to ask questions rather than assuming. Once again thanks for reply. Stay safe and have a nice day sir.

They are stored for about 3 to 4 weeks then die (degenerate or disintegrate). 3. The degenerated sperms don't pass in urine but the products of degeneration are recycled. Each ejaculatory duct is formed by the union of the vas deferens with the duct of the seminal vesicle. The 2 ducts pass through the prostate, and open into the urethra at the seminal colliculus.
The verumontanum or seminal colliculus is the rounded eminence of the urethral crest within the posterior wall of the mid prostatic urethra. There are 3 openings at the seminal colliculus: the 2 ejaculatory ducts (one on each side) and the orifice of the prostatic utricle.
The prostatic utricle is a small diverticulum of the prostatic urethra. It is located in the verumontanum between the two openings of the ejaculatory ducts and extends backward and slightly upward for a very short distance within the prostate.
The prostate is surrounded by a firm fibrous capsule formed of collagen,elastin and smooth muscle fibers. This capsule is surrounded by pelvic fascia. They are separated by the prostatic plexus of veins. This fibrous capsule is firmly adherent to the prostate and is structurally continuous with the stroma of the gland, being composed of the same tissues.
