London’s Ben UFO started out on pirate radio station Sub FM in 2007, playing dubstep alongside friends, producers and DJs Pangaea and Pearson Sound. After being sent new music every week, the trio started the Hessle Audio label that same year through which they joined the dots of the UK underground between house, techno, jungle and drum & bass as the global dubstep scene was exploding. Since then Ben has graduated to a fortnightly show on flagship London radio station Rinse FM and a near-constant touring schedule.
The Red Bull Music Academy is a global music institution committed to fostering creativity in music. We celebrate music, its culture, and the transformative minds behind it. Begun in 1998, the Academy has taken the core principles that underlie its annual workshop for selected participants and applied this curatorial approach to events, lectures, and city-wide festivals throughout the year.

Michael Fitzpatrick One of the best names ever. The way it rolled off the tongue always matched how insanely smooth and technical his productions seemed to "roll." Remember hearing "Work Them" for the first time? The energy back then was unreal.

when i look back to that old dubstep and uk stuff (not that edm crap) i have to say it somehow feels a bit cheesy but i dont know why. liked that stuff a lot when it came out but i can't that stuff anymore probably cause of that vocal stuff in it...
GBRL I get what you mean. Some of it I’m over, and over for good, but a lot of it is still pure class, cheese and all, and I love it. Seriously, will “Midnight Request Line” ever get too old? Like any genre, you’re going to have your shit, and stuff that doesn’t age well, but some if it will always be classic. That Ramadanman track they played, for instance, has aged pretty well imo. I still think it’s excellent, but some shit by guys like Rusko that I used to love, yeah, it’s not aged as well. ✌🏼
definitely beats the current tech house trend, where everything sounds "nice" and cheesiness is frowned upon
