Fucking EXACTLY!!! I feel like too many people that just don't really understand why there is no real good reason to for example, dislike or be bothered by the way someone speaks in a certain way or how fast they talk. Too many people have a fucking problem with shit that they should just put out of there mind and pay attention to what's more/most important.

If the ratio's of Aspergers to normal people were reversed, Aspergers people would be "normal" and would on average actually be better at communicating with other, "normal" aspergers people. One of the flaws I have a problem with is the innovative aspect. I understand that this guy thinks that innovations like the newest phone are more harm than good (I can partially agree with that), but innovations in the medical field are very beneficial for people. And while some innovations will still be made with this reduced hours/covering basic needs idea, it would be severely slowed down. People won't have an economical incentive to innovate because in this "perfect society" he described, there's a lot more focus on enjoying life rather than working for a nicer life. The reason I believe people will still innovate though is the fact that some people love what they do and they love a good puzzle. However, I believe that even with these natural innovators, we'd still fall behind in the health field and we'll see a significant decrease in life expectancy.
However, I do respect his idea, it's just unrealistic... and it would almost certainly require several communist-inspired laws to get to that point. The only feasible way I could see it not requiring such laws is if like a hundred million workers around the US refuse to work unless companies agree to shorten hours and invest immensely into technology... but that would probably crash the economy due to the amount of businesses that would have to shutdown.

Schools do a poor job of educating students due to lack of government investing in schools. It is getting harder to get a job out of high school/college that can actually support you. All of this is related to capitalist ideas.

So basically because nobody needs to work since technology has taken over all of the jobs, we would all be free to have what ever hobby we wanted. The only "job" that would be absolutely necessary would be having technicians around to fix machines when they are unable to fix themselves. Of course, those people wouldnt need pay either because theyre real geeks and enjoy that sort of thing. You would also want human therapists. Cool.
So that means it would no longer be money that was the motive, or a fear of poverty. It would be rushing to make sure that nothing in the system falls out of place and a fear of having to take the place of robots and restart the old economy.
I would definitely make a movie on this topic. Human nature is really fascinating when it comes to things like these. As of right now, it has prevented the economy from becoming this developed.

The problem with companies introducing these types of systems, reducing hours, paying more is that the company has to be willing to lose money for it. While there is no net loss (besides the initial cost) when comparing the earnings before to after automation has been introduced, we all know that companies would see wage adjustments as a loss and thus wouldn't go forward with them if it makes more sense monetarily to cut jobs/stagnate wages to increase their overall profit. Companies don't care about morals, they care about the bottom line, and making any less money then what they could potentially earn is seen as a problem to them.

good point. microeconomists and business analysts would reasonably see no reason to take an action that will reduce their net profit. At the end of the day, every socioeconomic ideology has intrinsic drawbacks; for capitalism, it's an emphasis on profit which oftentimes comes at the expense of the rights of the working class. Justice frequently becomes a subordinate priority, especially in a society where healthcare is commodified.

The more I think about intelligence the more I realize that intelligence humanity has is really just a burden for most of the people. They just work in their nine to five jobs, get home, dont do anything productive or anything that will help them progress either physically or mentally and just do this till they are old enough to retire. Most people do not realize how much of a potential humanity has. Of course few people used this in their advantage and thats why there are such a few people with much more property or money than 99% of people has. People need to understand that there is no need to fight eachother, we are intelligent enough ( in theory ) to make such a utopian living, but materialism overall just cant let it through. You have so many business guides, tutorials and what not from most successful of people, but you dont see most of the people getting further. How is that possible? Thats just natural selection at its finest. That is advantage and at the same time disadvantage of current regime, capitalism. You just have to work hard and have some luck to get to a point, where you dont really need to progress so live a happy live. But dont think of me as an anti-capitalist. I think most of the regimes ( of course not counting the extreme ones ) has pros and cons, and humanity has quiet an experience with so many types of regimes, but its only on us, to select the best and get rid off the worst of these regimes, and get to a level, where everyone is happy, where there is utopia.

For the grocery store analogy, it is about greed. Reducing hours and increasing pay means less money for the chain, therefore they don'y do that, and end up just firing the extra people and averaging out the workload over less people. So, those few people simply get a raise, and the rest- whoops, now unemployed. That stacks up exponentially over every store in the world and we DO end up having an unemployment crisis. I get your drift, and your lobby is very logical, but the greed of business owners makes this plan inconceivable to me.

The only problem is, businesses would see this as a way to cut the amount they have to pay out to employees. So they would end up cutting people's hours and NOT increasing their pay to match, for the company to increase profits even more.
The problem is the greed of the company in the first place. They aren't focused on making sure their employees are making enough to live on.

This theory is assuming that the leaders/CEOs are free of greed. It would definitely work if that were the case. However, making the same amount of money while not requiring as much labor/resources to the company, means more profit, and they will keep it that way. The job crisis is caused by this exact concept. Everyone wants more money, and they don't care that their minimum-wage workers are struggling. McDonald's could definitely afford to pay their workers a lot more, but to maximize profit, they pay them as absolute little as they legally can. I really wish the world didn't work this way, but it's just how it is.

I’ve been going through this guys channel for about two hours now and I say that this video very strongly stands out to me because I’ve had this thought of if everyone worked to support eachother, a lot and I mean a lot of the world’s problems involving money would be gone. Never really found someone who thought along theses lines in my life, but now I have. we have to understand that the leaders of our world from long ago till date have created us to think about us and only and us and money increases that urge to focus on just ourselves. However if we lived in a society where the main achievement of life was to work for the ones around us and not just for ourselves we would thrive much more in ways that go even just beyond work. Because if we lived in this reality now we have a state of mind that says you need me as much as I need you. but sadly the human race is to self centered

You have given me a better perspective of how to navigate the 21st century especially as an entrepreneur.
I believe what have shared if applied will bring a really positive impact but that's only possible in a world where THE LOVE OF MONEY, GREED and PRIDE doesn't exist.
As long as these exist Humans will use technology against themselves instead of using it for their good.
Take an example that if CEOs, Executives and Managers get what you are saying, then we will have some of the most wealthy communities in the world in the coming years.
But the problem is that most of those CEOs, execs and managers see technology as a way to get rid of employees so that they can generate more money for themselves and their family.
Personally i pose this as a challenge to myself and all my upcoming endeavours in business and investing to have a better look of things and not allowing myself to fall in the trap of Loving money, Being Greedy or being Prideful so that i can see people, technology, the resources and everyother thing the right way.

I agree--the jobs of today are NOT the jobs of yesterday or yesterdecade. The problem isn't we have an unemployment crisis as we have a knowledge crisis. You are correct that many jobs that were "necessary" a decade or so ago have been taken over by machines or technology. But we STILL need people to service/maintain/develop that technology. We already DO have tags on things so people can self checkout. The store where I shop has reduced their checkout personnel from 4 per day to six--mostly to be sure people are indeed checking things out (and not just walking out with them--sorry, there are those who believe that they can just take whatever they want) and to make sure things run smoothly. So cutting back on the numbers of people who need to be employed in such a situation can be reduced. That is true. BUT who puts the groceries on the shelves or grows or makes the products or gets them to the market? We still need employed people to do that. When I was your age, there was a hue and cry about the phone system going to self-dialing systems--and no longer needing operators. And yet we still need someone to maintain even those systems. It was just a matter of retraining people to deal with that new technology--and now we have even MORE people employed because of it. When your cable quits or the Internet collapses, who will take care of that if we don't have people knowledgeable--and working--to tend to that? I can also tell you that we do NOT work nearly as many hours today as we used to--and yet we earn more money and have more recreational time than ever before. And one thing that I have definitely learned in my lifetime (and psychology has proven) is that people WANT to be productive and feel like they are doing SOMEthing for the benefit of mankind--even if it's digging a well or ditch or building a road or finding a cure for a pandemic.

They just improve the tech/system and won't need more ppl + checkout incl extra staffs have less workload. Phones do alot more than years ago and more scale, so it makes sense incl ppl making apps. Also, not enough research or funding or implementation going into labour displacing tech, so more ppl. Yes, ppl would want to do sth but ppl hate their "jobs" too. The goal is to have our needs met and we'll still work coz we love it. Also, even if we're stuck with less technology, workers not receiving profit (or less working time) is slavery. Also, other types of workers have it hard and they're still needful in our society... Imagine they all quit, imagine no janitors, imagine everybody that hate their job quit. You're lucky, other ppl aren't. Cheers.
