Very well explained!! Environmental issues has always been a topic of discussions and deliberations. Environmental governance has its own areas of challenges and opportunities. Environment regimes refers to the type of institution , cluster of rules and rights , decision making procedures that give rise to a social practice and assigns role to the participants involved . Many forums and summits acts as the key players in dealing with global environmental issues such as UNEP, KYOTO PROTOCOL, IEAs, MEAs, etc. Environmental issues has gained more global attention in the recent past and the same is evident in the works of American marine biologist, Rachel Louise Carson , Book - Silent spring ,which makes an efforts to advance global environmental movement. As we move forward, we are looking out for the mutual and peaceful Human-Environment Relationship and the idea of sustainable development has gained immense popularity to support the same which tries to satisfy the existing human wants without disturbing the natural environmental balance !!
Thank you ma'am for this awesome lecture🙏.Now it's quite clear that....In order to address global environmental problems most effectively and efficiently, policy makers have developed series of systems of rights and obligations and related decision-making procedures in international environmental policy, known as international environmental regimes. Over the years, a no. of international environment agreements have been signed at the global level to address ecological problems, which primarily focused on preservation of natural resources and impact of pollution on the environment and human health. Stockholm Conference, UNEP, Montreal Protocol, Rio Conference, Agenda 21,UNFCCC, Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement are the noteworthy global attempt to combat such ecological issues.
International environmental regimes are a type of institution, where an institution is understood as a “cluster of rights, rules, and decision-making procedures that gives rise to a social practice, assigns roles to participants in the practice, and guides interactions among occupants of these roles” Current content includes over 1,300 MEAs, over 2,200 BEAs, 250 other environmental agreements, and over 90,000 individual country "membership actions" some examples of international environmental agreements are:- ⏺️Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) ⏺️Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).. ⏺️Kyoto Protocol.... ⏺️The Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer.... ⏺️Paris Agreement.... ⏺️World Heritage Convention.... Thankyou mam for the lecture. International environmental regimes are considered key factors in dealing with global environmental change problems. It is important to understand if and how regimes are effective in tackling these problems, which requires knowledge on their potential impact on these problems as well as on their political feasibility. Integrated assessments of global environmental change, which are mainly bio-physical and technology-economic oriented, barely address knowledge on environmental regimes, due to problems in drawing general and policy relevant lessons on regime effectiveness and inherent difficulties in modelling human and social dimensions.

International environment is a institutions can be understood as cluster of rights, rules and decision making in the society where we are leaving. Thank you ma'am...... Various international environmental regimes deal with international public goods such as space, climate, air, the oceans and their basins, and nature. International regimes seek to preserve the ecosystem and define the responsibilities of member states for this purpose. The creation and evolution of an international environmental regime is related to the conclusion of numerous multilateral treaties, which should be negotiated and adopted predominantly within the framework of the existing international environmental regimes. In particular, the appropriate combination of obligation and commitment and its effective implementation are essential. In these processes, nonbinding instruments occasionally replace binding ones; alternatively, nonbinding approaches based on established legally binding regimes are adopted by interested parties. Most of the following agreements are legally binding for countries that have formally ratified them. Some, such as the Kyoto Protocol, differentiate between types of countries and each nation's respective responsibilities under the agreement. Several hundred international environmental agreements exist but most link only a limited number of countries. These bilateral or sometimes trilateral agreements are only binding for the countries that have ratified them but are nevertheless essential in the international environmental regime. Including the major conventions listed below, more than 3,000 international environmental instruments have been identified by the IEA Database Project. Thank uh ma'am for explaining the topic.

International environmental regimes are a type of institution, where an institution is understood as a “cluster of rights, rules, and decision-making procedures that gives rise to a social practice, assigns roles to participants in the practice, and guides interactions among occupants of these roles”. Scholars in this field have applied different qualitative and quantitative approaches to defining and measuring regime effectiveness . With the continuously increasing institutionalisation of global environmental policy, the complexity of the various international environmental regimes is growing. This can be observed via intersections, interdependences and interactions, but also via conflicts between institutions and policy levels.
Thank you ma'am for such good session..International environmental regimes-especially those regimes articulated in multilateral environmental agreements-have been a subject of intense interest within the scientific community over the last three decades. However, there are substantial differences of opinion regarding the effectiveness of these governance systems or the degree to which they are successful in solving the problems leading to their creation. This article provides a critical review of the literature on this topic. It extracts and summarizes what is known about the effectiveness of environmental regimes in the form of a series of general and specific propositions. It identifies promising topics for consideration in the next phase of research in this field. Additionally, it comments on the research strategies available to pursue this line of analysis. The general conclusions are that international environmental regimes can and do make a difference, although often in conjunction with a number of other factors, and that a strategy of using a number of tools combined can help to improve understanding of the determinants of success.
thank you mam.....International environmental regims are ambiguous institutions. They are highly dynamic and their decision-making apparatuses are established to promote and accelerate international environmental governance. Yet, they do not rely on powerful bureaucracies (secretariats) and many of them lack formal independence and a status as subjects under international law.1 Although these institutions do not fit the model of stable international regimes or international treaties, or that of international organizations, they apparently meet the demand of relevant actors. Numerous of them have been established over the past forty years to govern specific areas of international relations. The most important examples include the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Kyoto Protocol, the Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Ozone Layer and its Montreal Protocol, and the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution and its various protocols.

International Regimes might also include international organisations in a broader sense. A regime is defined by Stephen.D.
