properly set threading dies will give full thread engaugement. i.e., measure the length of the thread inside the fitting and the pipes thread should thighten to the same length. this may required to change for different manufacturers of fittings. thats why you should use the same manufacturers fittings. also import fittings the steel is not strong enough and will streatch and maybe even split the fittings. domestic fittings may cost more but will give you la better job.
