    When you think about it, our real problems are colleges and universities. They make their classes so overpriced so that the poor can't afford it. It is why people born poor stay poor. And as the housing prices increase, the university prices stay the same.

    • @bighands69
      @bighands69 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It is more than just colleges and universities charging.
      The UK government is spending too much money and in turn they are then taxing the people to pay for this.
      And what this does it removes money from peoples pockets that they cannot spend in the economy which creates jobs.

    • @gorgondrifter458

      A large part of it is the job market too. Many employers outsource for cheaper rates, want younger and cheaper employees and degrees seem to mean nothing for many job applications and even go against you if you try to get a customer service job. If you have a gap due to illness, it's really really hard to get work and most of the industries outside of London were stripped away from the Thatcher era onwards, leaving few industries but customer service and health care in more of the poorest areas. Add onto that poorer health in poverty stricken areas, increasing mental health issues and addictions and it's no wonder so many people are struggling to find their footing. I have ten years work experience in customer service and an English degree and I cannot get a job in Subway after leaving a previous job due to mental health issues. There is little to no support for people with mental health to aide them back into the job market and/or to find a promising career path where I live.

    My mum was awesome bless her. Dad cheated on her, they divorced, then her mum passed away and I was awful as a child. Still she traveled 100 miles everyday and got a degree in social care and taught Piano lessons in the evenings to give us more money, they stayed up all night writing her essays for university, and got the best marks in the class despite all the stress in her life. I made her life hard and so did my brother and dad. She was a super woman. I love you mum and I miss you very much

      shan hami you r right, when I lived in England, I saw that first hand. Among places I lived in, I lived in Bradford for 2 years and people assumed as I’m not British that it’s ok for them to tell me how they scam the government for benefits. They all worked under the table and got money from work but claimed benefits. They also hated white British people (called them pigs, infidels etc). It was shocking to me to see how stupid the government is in giving them everything. They are experts in manipulating the system. Some married couple claimed they r divorced in order to claim more benefits.

    It hasnt improved here in 6 years. There are people today having their benefits readjusted because there is now the universal payment and some of them have had their payments stopped for weeks due to bodge ups by the benefits agency. Others are sanctioned(the payments cut or withheld) for not turning up to the job centre appointment due to such ridiculous things as the bus was late and they couldnt make their time slot, Some get a low paying job and lose the whole of a benefit which was the only thing keeping them above water. Shop workers are paid a pittance. Zero hour contracts mean a person is classed as employed but might not actually get any paid work(but it looks great for the reduced unemployment figures) . Interns are expected to work for no income at all. Apprentices are taken on for ridiculous professions and are paid about 3 pounds an hour which is less than half the legal minimum wage.

    True again, but I guess it depends on how you define poverty. The current Job-seeker Allowance for a single person in the UK is £62 per week, and that's supposed to pay for your food, housing, heating, clothing, transport, everything. I would defy anyone to live adequately on that pittance. Don't forget we're the 6th richest country in the world so you wouldn't expect to see the same levels of misery as in some broke, fly-ridden shit hole in Africa or the far east.

    I agree anyone who fiddled the system to get more than they need is wrong. But its not the massive number the government is saying it is. The charity Save The Children is now asking for donations to help starving kids in Britain. People with disabilities like cerebral palsy are now told they are fit for work and need to be out looking for a job for at least 4 hours every day. Bit hard when they can hardly walk let alone work.

    I commend your hard work , i did hard work as well , 12 hours , 7 days ,24 hour rotating roster , non stop work environment. The work environment had many iliegal oh&s of public concern further adding to the stress , 22 years of it. I am now unemployed and finding it difficult , the 22 years bought no respect , i am treated like shit.

    People shouldn't be equal, it is the way of life, there are people that are rich and there are people that are poor, it's just a fact
