Thanks for posting this video. As a Spectrum owner from the 1980s I am simply staggered at what modern developers are getting out of what is a very modest machine. Simply awesome!
I grew up with 8 bit Ataris, I experienced the rivalry among my computer(XL) and the commodore C64 and AMSTRAD cpc 6128, I fully embraced the 16 bit machines (atari st and amiga) and pcs, but along that journey, somehow I missed interacting with this machine! I think it has by far the most unique identity of all ! I can see why people still keep a vibrant community around this system! Thanks a lot for your great work in your videos and for making me install a speccy emulator!

"The Dark" To put it short : probably, best ZX 3D shooter, and in color!!! Impossible, I thought... "Dead flesh boy" "Super meat boy" for ZX? Great!!! "Survvisection" Looks like a great action/RPG. "Tourmaline" Very nice gfx/animation (but, gameplaywise, just another Boulderdash / Supaplex ...) Thanks a lot for this video! Informative.
ZX was not as powerful as Atari but the games are much more fun even today. Something about that limited number of colors and very specific palette makes them more appealing than many Atari or C64 games.
These games look incredible, thanks for the video. Love the idea of changing the attributes every scanline to get high res colour vertically. My favourite is the one in the first video where you're turning on light bulbs - so good. Something in my brain is saying, "224 t-states per scan line."
Haha you've just brought some memories back with that - does "rainbow processor" sound familiar to you? That was from a book, as were your 224 t-states, I suspect...

Yes..the spectrum is always alive..and the people take like a chance for doing new things...improving the capabiliy of that incredible machine...

228 on the 2A/3+ . Just pointing that out.
Great video and great music. I didn't know many of those games
Nice! the game at 10.10 reminds me of Chaos Engine in parts, the characters and parts of map look similar
Графика огонь, сочетания цветов конечно подозрительно необычные для Спектрума )))
Есть эмулятор на спектрум
10:11 looks like chaos engine monochrome caracters , nicyy :D
No color bleeding? What kind of sorcery is this? :)
It would be great if you would add the times each game demo starts to the list in the description.
Awesome concept! But too much Scratchy AY shame you didn't use a SID!
Denis is unable NOT to appreciate multicolor 😂
Hey! It's a Beatles HELP! cover song :)
Most interesting. "The Sword of Ianna" is a commercial production, I gather?
Yep, it's still in dev :)
It is available for download at: www.retroworks.es/php/game_en.php?id=15
