GW2 | How to BEAT EVERY CLASSES ( WvW/ PvP ) By Following 3 BASIC PVP Rules - 19 Years PvP Vet Guide

I've been PvP'ing for 19 years now in MMORPGs. ( mainly WoW )
GW2 was one of the hardest to learn PvP if you're new to this game since it requires a lot of "switching" in most case in order to be proficient with your class. If you come from WoW of FF14, switching is unorthodox to our gameplay.. so it wasn't easy for me to adjust.
It took me awhile to understand.. but with time, patience and practice, I learned to persevere and not giving up.
Now I can play pretty much every classes which gives me an "edge" on learning how to defeat different classes on the battlefield at any moment.
Still , even if I win, they may always be another player who will "outplay" you. So you don't really "win" "perse" since there's always someone out there who will outplay you.
However, if you LOSE, you also WIN the opportunity to learn to be better by analyzing your last match. What could you do to improve next time you see him/her with that class?
The most common problem these days with PvP players is that when they lose, they are fast to judge that other classes are simply "overpowered" when in fact... the real problem could be elsewhere... with ourselves.
These 3 PvP rules applies to any MMORPG. Not just GW2. That's how you get better. That's how GREAT PVP PLAYERS become stronger then most. Not because of the CLASS they play, but because they apply these 3 PvP basic Rules.
That's how you beat pretty much every classes once you understand their strength and weaknesses.

Hey, just a tip if you weren't aware: with Skill Retargeting enabled in the settings, on the engineer Tool Kit 5 you can press it with no target, then right before it finishes casting, target the person youd like to pull. This makes it so that beam which is a very clear telegraph is not shown until last second and makes it a lot harder to dodge (they have to actually watch your animation). Glad to see new players picking up the game and getting passionate about improving. Best of luck. This game is really complex and you have the right attitude and methods to be a really good player.

Really informative! Your tips are really good! More new players interested in WvW and PvP should watch this! Also, yeah cele builds are powerful and are nice build that even though I kind of hate and love them I think new players should use them so they don't get absolutely destroyed by vets.

I’m going through this transaction right now. I’m coming from an action combat back ground ESO, New World never played tab target before so huge learning curve.
In case you still haven't realized, you can play GW2 with action cam as well, there's an option/control to toggle it, and a few settings that make it easier to play with. It's perfectly viable for all content, although there are a few small situations where using the cursor / default camera is better, for example casting stuff behind you while running forwards, but you can still do fine with action cam. If you don't mind the cursor/default camera, it may be better to continue with that, but if you really want the action cam, figured I'd let you know about it, I know how much of a turn off the default cam was for me. I have >700h action cam only including a lot of PvP and I don't see myself switching off of it.
@@Matsyir I actually have been able to pick up the camera movement of the tab target cam pretty easy I have the action camera on toggle I feel like its pretty good when kiting and needing to make sharp turns. I came from console originally so I still played ESO on a controller like a pleb lol, but have switched to KB&M on all other games so it was easier to pick up then I thought it was going to be. I feel like overall I am picking up the game pretty fast I have has a couple 20 plus kill arena matches already and my damage is comparable to everyone elses so I feel pretty good about how things are going so far.. The arena is really addictive I'm having a blast with it. Thanks for your response.

I think youre spot on, but the issue for casual players is that they dont have the right build/gear and cant practically change their major stats to suit the battle. I personally would love changeable exotic level gear instead of grinding for the dang legendaries.
that de you farmed, is very familiar to me. i farmed him 5 times and he got one lucky win and starts trash talkin while hes in offline/blockin. very hilarious

How do u like Gw2's pvp over world of warcraft?
They are very different to compare. However I love WoW Battlegrounds for the "no balance " issue and lower queue time to enter. WoW also gives 10 men and 15 men bg which I really love. GW2 has 5v5 only. However I love WvW when there's chaotic battles between 3 full servers ( which doesnt occurs all the time ) unless you are in tier 1 vs Maguuma I believe. Roaming is fun but can be redundant if there's no one on the map or if you're always being outnumbered. GW2 pvp is inconsistent. But is also the best PvP once 3 full server attack each other at the same place at the same time.

WvW is kindergarten when it comes comparing it with sPvP. If you'd play pvp for a few years and manage getting proficient at it like reaching plat 2 etc, you will smash everyone in wvw with two single buttons. People there are literally dogsh!t in most cases. I say this first hand with nearly of decade experience, 6k+ wvw rank/7k+ pvp matches.
@@ManteIIoidk about that i played gw2 back in like 2017 2018 took me like maybe around 3-4 months and about 1000 games to get to plat but when i actively started playing wvw it was a shit show cuz people there have a lot higher stats so they deal more dmg and take less, had to re learn everything basically.
Theif is so op my friend doesn't bother to gear his wvw toon, not just low gear he literally doesn't have most of his gear on for more of a challenge. How many classes can roam with very little gear on.
You can’t learn to defend against scrapper tho 😉
