    I love my clothes sooo much, Helen! Today I unpacked my summer clothes (I put them away in October every year) and I was so happy to see them again, every single one! 😍You're right about not getting rid of them right away, sometimes a little break makes us feel and think differently. I absolutely love summer and can't wait to style my old pieces again! That was a fantastic video, thank you so much for the tips 💗 and congrats on the moving, hope you can rest now and enjoy the new place :) xx

      Thank you so much Mila :)) I think it'll be great to give them a little break and be excited to see them the next season.

    I have a huge wardrobe accumulated for decades. I love the feeling of falling in love with some old pieces. Some items I don’t fall back in love. Instead it is like “what was I thinking” when I used to dress in those LoL. One thing really sticking out is how much better the fabric and sewing were in older garments from the 80/90s and early 2000s.

    I swap out my clothes twice a year winter/summer. Not everything, but enough to get excited about the changeover and getting back into things I haven’t seen in a while. If it comes out of the storage and I think meh, then it’s probably time to donate. Great ideas here thank you 👍

    i think i can finally understand and embrace the playfulness style in my wardrobe. bcos i naturally gravitate toward polished outfits. sometimes it gets too serious and too smart. i need something that looks casual. at first, i oppose the playfulness concept bcos it looks juvenile. i guess as long as it is done right, it is actually quite ok. you inspired me to experiment with this !

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      As someone who naturally gravitates towards dressy pieces - blazers, tailored trousers, silk dresses etc, the playful element allows me to wear all those pieces and still feel somewhat casual :) There are lots of ways to incorporate it and I hope you find a couple you love xx

    I'm a minimalist, so naturally I love rewearing clothes. I do not, however, like getting to the end of my skincare; it just means I have to buy more and that stuff is expensive. I always buy the same Avene products because of my sensitive skin, but I imagine those who like to try new things might enjoy that feeling.

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing :) I completely get that. I tend to buy my products in bulk (so usually around Christmas/BF in the sales) so there's a lot of clutter in my storage and it does feel nice to clear that out whenever I finish something

    Thank you for sharing your tips Helen! This is a game changer to me. I also do the same, when I am switching clothes between seasons, the pieces I am not sure about I put them aside and after the break I might think differently. I love the feeling of clothing I can wear over and over again and when a new season is coming & getting excited to wear them again ☺

    Love these! I also like to wear a button-up over my gym outfit. It works so well as a light piece during spring and fall. I will be giving my closet another look. Always trying to decrease the cost per wear of my wardrobe.

    I feel the same way, getting fullness from your clothes are awe-inspiring feeling, you may have had a crush on your clothes when you first added them to your wardrobes but when you wear them again you know you fell hard in love.

    I do have outfit formulas, like my most common one, a silky skirt and top/shirt, with a blazer, often a knit one. I wear these formulas because they work well for me, are in my classic-style framework and are very comfortable and flattering on me, unlike those with jeans and most trousers. But, I have enough variety in colors and patterns to keep me happy in my outfit formulas.

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the best approach :) Having a formula, but also having options xx

    Yessss I love to dress up and a nice cardigan or a sweater really helps soften the shoulder line for me, and balances the whole look so I don’t look a corporate lady. I love paring blue, white, and black together, with a pop of stripes for this spring/summer season (North America), whereas if you asked me about those colors 6 months ago, I would have been vehemently against those colors on myself when everything just looked grey. After some storage organizing, I love what I currently have!

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I love your point about organising, everything just looks and feels better after a wardrobe organise/clean :)

    Hi Helen! I have been following you for a few years and LOVE your styling ideas. So practical and timeless. Can you share in a video next time, how do you style the more statement accessories you have? I am always interested in buying a bag or a pair of shoes that are not black/white/nude, but instead an interesting red/green/pop of colour. But I always struggle to justify in my head how I'm going to style them often enough to make the buy worthwhile, and hence end up falling back to the boring neutral shades cos idw risk buying sth that won't work too well with rest of my wardrobe. Would love to see your ideas :)

    I really need the clean slate 😂 I realized recently that I keep coming back to the same outfita everyday.. since I's exam period I spend 90% of my time in the library in a hoodie and sweatpants 🙈 so it feels like I've forgotten how to dress.. I'm so excited to try the summerdress-look! Have this lovely, dressy summerdress that I only wear on fancy occasions.. 😅
    To answer your question: It also makes me happy to be able to wear all my clothes 😍 whenever I have a pice that I never wear it gives me anxiety to look at it 🙈

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว

      So true! I get so bummed as well whenever I see a piece I just haven't worn enough. Good luck with your exams - must be stressful and I hope everything goes well xx

    I totally agree on the skincare! I must have too many products bc i struggle to hit pan/bottom, but I am trying to use what I have before buying more

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tend to buy my skincare in bulk during sales so I am soo happy every time I finish something up :) Hitting pan on powder products also gives me this strange satisfaction (despite then having to go repurchase it).

You always give me lots of inspiration.I love your jewellery especially the pop of red it really suits you. Amazing content Helen I am off to look at your Pinterest page😘

    I've had a Pinterest board for years as well, different sections within the board for items in my wardrobe or even items I don't have but I'm trying to see their versatility.
    Unless something is physically harming me, I've decided I'm no longer letting go of clothes, I'll just store them away at some point I see a way of styling that just makes sense. Now that I'm buying more sensibly, my declutters are no longer satisfying but starting to look like potential regrets as I'm literally trying to donate basics(why did I try to declutter a black wide leg trouser?)
    As for disassociation, my thing is to store them away for a time (usually a year or more especially when I forget about it) and by the time I see it again it feels new I do that to; clothes I'm visually tired of looking at because of a bright colour or pattern, clothes I lounged too much on so they make me think of being a slob around the house 😅, clothes I wore in my corporate job.

    • @lookingatdaisies9901
      @lookingatdaisies9901 ปีที่แล้ว

      To answer your question, I like getting lots of wears out of my clothing, and when I think I'm wearing it too much, I try to get a second option only because I get worried of it wearing out fast, but I try to not get many alternatives because I like that special feeling of something being so useful and easy to dress when it was the only one I had.

      I can’t remember, but I checked her link, about a year? ago, but it sold out before I could get it, I really wanted it. I just ordered a similar light blue silk skirt from Silk Laundry, but it’s a little bit darker, like a baby blue. I looked for this light blue color, in silk, for ages! Like Helen, I have Summer coloring and light blues are great on us, and many other coloring types, too. Hope this helps, friend❤

      It is from Lee mathews :) Unfortunately I purchased what was probably the last one in stock (in the sales). If you like it, I recommend searching for bias maxi skirts - in silk or viscose, and they will be similar xx
