The Overseas is just beautiful. That, and the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar would be my choices if I could afford it. The Nautilus is nice, but there's something about the other two that just sings to me.
@@michele_ I was saying that if I could afford them, I'd buy the VC Overseas and AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars in a heartbeat. The PP Nautilus perpetual is nice, but I'd prefer the other two over it.
I only have the post-production capacity for one project like that. Other people at WB create a demand on the post-production resources, so I shoot Collector's Guide in the style of the old Versus, and I shoot the current comparisons in one pass. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviews figured that was the reason, if you ever get more resources the old format was excellent. Of course the content is consistent in both formats, so great either way!..

Great video as always Tim - but on a side note, when are you going to do another "wake up with watches" or similar video? I love the versus series, and obviously your in-depth reviews of individual watches, but sometimes I just need a half-hour of you presenting watch after watch that I can just drool over!
I've never had this problem in countless watch links owned and thousands more inspected firsthand. Nearly 100 percent of the time a loose screw is one incorrectly tightened. Thread lock is cheap and plentiful if you need it. Pre-2012 PP bracelets have no reputation for screws "backing out." Today's Patek and TAG Heuer use pins and sleeves for the same reason, and that reason is money Best, Tim
Would choose the Nautilus allways, by the way Tim you didn't mention that the Patek has better water resistance..., have to admit that the Overseas is also a stunning piece though...
Maybe I like the Patek more. I'm not sure anymore. But it also seems unwearable these days, because of the inflated value. So I'd probably choose the VC (and a lot of money) over it, so that I could actually wear it. Being able to swap to straps is also fantastic. Vacheron Contstantin also seems like the better manufacturer/dealer to actually buy from. And the Overseas' polished bezel is overwhelmingly preferable to the Nautilus' satin finishing, which will show all sorts of wear.
Just noticed with the Nautilus…it has a shaped sapphire. Out of the two here, I think the VC is the more beautiful watch. But the Patek tops it in all other categories, with the exception of warranty and bracelet tech. I’d go with the latter for those reasons.
@@jordanc9169 my decision above pertains only to these two models in particular. As for fit, I think the Nautilus actually tops the VC here as well, taking into account the extra complexity of the case and sapphire. If not by much overall, at this level.
I’m on the fence w/ a draw. Both pieces have features I like & others that I wish were slightly different. The V has a nicer dial while the thin frame concerns me were as the frame is solid & thicker while the dial could be slightly upgraded to a solid dark color like the V opposed to the rigid pattern design. Both are a draw & I would pick both over a Daytona even though I love the white gold/ black dial Daytona.
The VC is a beautiful watch but conversely so is the Patek, to own either would be a pleasure. My own choice would be the Vacheron but as I said I would not complain if I was forced to have the Patek!
Standard dail, would go for the VC anyday, over any Nautilus, Aquanaut or Royal Oak. But the chronograph dial looks too cluttered, especially compared to the Patek, which I prefer in this instance.
I have a riviera baumatic and a highlife chronograph both with the quick release and it’s very convenient. My concern with the VC having the quick release mechanism is how long such a system will last. Less expensive watches do not cause me to lose sleep. I’m not sure I could stomach this concern with that beautiful Overseas.
Both pieces way overpriced ( especially the Patek ). It’s house money where I’m from!! Obviously both trinity watches, but the Vacheron is better finished by far imo. 🤷🏻♂️
If overseas could change the bezel to matt brushed finish…glossy mirror finish doesnt look expensive at all. All the cheap watches are glossy mirror finish.
Vacheron has more refined elegance, balance and subtle command of nobility. It's design and movement is perfect, I own 5 VCs and they run perfectly, even after wearing them for sports. Patek is just resting on the laurels of Gerald Genta for the Nautilus, an ugly, clumsily flat and boring bezel design. Good luck buying a Patek thinking it will make money
I'm going to call BS on your calling of BS Tim. Somehow this flabbergasts people but screws actually do back out and the last thing you want is your $150,000 watch dropping off your wrist into a lake or onto concrete. Yes I am aware of a thing called Loctite and I'm also aware that Rolex (and my own Tudor) have screws that somehow don't back out but allow me to counter that by saying pins and sleeves are more secure still and no Patek owner is resizing their own bracelet. When it comes down to it on an expensive watch I'd prefer pins and sleeves every time.
I’ve owned the Overseas on 2-different occasions (ref 4500 in steel) and must say the “Seiko” look just bugs. You tell yourself it’s holy trinity and a viable alternative to the Nautilus or Royal Oak........but it’s not, sorry man. There’s a reason the Nautilus & Royal Oak trade for multiples of retail, they check all the boxes and wear so well. I currently own the 41mm current version of the Royal Oak Chrono with blue dial, the 15202 Jumbo & the Jarno Trulli Offshore and an FP Journe for a dress piece on a strap and couldn’t be happier 👍🏻
Your accent on Vacheron Constantin & Patek Philippe got me thinking for years. This is French name and deserves respect, it's not English. What's the importance of your video if you can't pronounce these brands name properly.
Overseas for me anytime, such beautiful design and the moonphase is simply gorgeous.
VC just look way attractive & handsome with tech to match. Really awesome timepiece.

We're in sync. We've similar choices: the VC overseas and AP Royal Oak
Easily the best watch comparison vids on YT; thank you for doing these.
I think that the dial, the case and the bracelet of the VC are way better than the PP; I would have no doubt and pick the Overseas.
Great work Tim. I am curious why you changed from the old Versus format you used to do ?

13:02 Why would you send the watch to patek the year 2100? Can't you just set it yourself? Then 2104 is leap year again and it should be just fine 🤔
Vacheron walks all over the patek
💯
Not the best looking watch.
Just as do not get the Daytona hype
With its JLC movement? Nah never
Dial layout is just wayyy better than patek too
Nah
@@perfolini That is a gen3. No JlC movement there and even so, JlC is no shame to use as a movement.
