@mintberrycrunch4333 it is? Mo just did another sold out record setting tour ... I saw it ... She brought the house down...again... as usual...why the hate?
@@blahblog4322 Baby, The Celebration Tour 2023/24 with $227 gross entered to #15 highest-grossing tours by women. It's was the 12th tour (11th world tour). She had 65 y.o. and 40 yrs career
I love the way Nikki Harris defends and speaks on behalf of Madonna-- and this is NOT because she was paid to do her sing and dance duties during the tour. She defends Madonna as a human being-- the side of Madonna that the general public hardly (if not never) gets to even see at all.
wow! i have waited 30+ years to see this! FINALLY! went this originally aired my cable went out & it didnt tape. grrr. they repeat the show 1x, set up my vcr... power went out. NOOO! NEVER thought i'd see this airing! thanks for posting,,, so happy this popped into my recs!
Nikki Harris has always worn her real hair, so I noticed only after 28 years! Not a single wig, wig piece, or hair extension ever on her head! Wow! Now that's a real proud and all-real girl!! Love her.
I have been a Madonna fan for yonks. I have never seen this talk show. I gotta say he's done a great job of showing both sides of the debate. Excellent show.
Madonna never forces anyone to like her, to believe her, nor to even be like her. Either you like her or you don't. If you don't then just keep quiet and stop saying hurtful prejudice remarks about her.
20:10 Straight on and on point mom!! DON'T WATCH IT if you don't like it!! Larry Flynt said the very same thing about his "Hustler" magazine way back in the 70s.
12:20 Madonna's remarks for that "church-vandalizing" incident was done in a jokingly sarcastic manner-- she did not ever meant to condone such acts. Some people just cannot appreciate nor even understand her kind of humor-- it may sometimes be hurtful or annoying, but she would not dare advocate for such vandalisms.
19:50 Yes, JML was banned by MTV but only temporarily. Later on, in 1991 that is, JML would be aired by MTV only on late-night hours, say from 1:00am to 5:00am. However, as the years went by, MTV simply stopped paying attention to all the "censorship clamor" and just aired JML anytime as they wish. In fact, from the years 1997 to 2003, I would see MTV air JML at any given time!
I find it so ridiculous when people worship Michael Jackson even with all his moaning, "hiccups" and the 100% lip-synced tours, and at the same time say that Madonna can't sing nor dance. The everlasting fight between men and women.
33:13 Nikki may have also been defending the LGBT+ community on "being different". She does have great foresight. You can clearly tell that she is an LGBT ally even when she dared the old lady by saying "you accept me becuz I'm black but you won't accept me becuz I'm gay".
11:45 Agree on that point that some (not all) "religious leaders" would use religiosity as a money-making platform to get rich by brainwashing its followers and making them do silly and bad stuff.
The dude that went to my highschool was on this tour and in this documentary a black bro. his name was Oliver! Also I know two other young dancers from Chicago that danced with her Sweetn sticky tour 2010. The wild thing is the white haired gentlemen is correct. Madonna was honest when she said I’m not the best singer or dancer I push buttons. She’s a pop star her image was plastered everywhere, she was a hard worker for what she wanted she was the perfect puppet for rebellion. Lil Richard was too but he denounced his rebellious anti-God ways n came to the truth n so did Prince n Vanity. She’s the last of the early 80’s iconic mega star figures . Madonna is her own God a true Narcissist
I remember this episode. And the Erotica album and SEX book was a year later. If I recall, Kurt Loder said that Madonna would fall as fast as she rose.
9:20 No she is not a Catholic bigot!! Madonna was once a Catholic so she has more respect for them than what others may think. She presents Catholic images only in a fictionalized and artistic manner and that's just the way her style goes.
Poor is the man who's pleasure depends on the permission of another. It implies an unequal power dynamic where one person is subservient to another, needing their constant validation. Obviously, that's not Madonna! Look at how the morality police misinterpreted the one line and trying to do it on purpose believing they got Madonna with her own words. When in reality it only spoke volumes about themselves. That entire song is about intimacy between a man and woman. Madonna is telling her partner to truly be who they are, to be presenktm to share their fantasies. The lyrics do not mention anyone else being with them. There are so many people close up when they finally meet someone they really like that they start hiding who they truly are in real life. C'mon. In case there are some Madonna doubters still out there the through line message of Madonna's 40 plus year career is love. To love and accept one another. Nothing more and nothing less.
The comments from some of the audience members shows how IGNORANT they were about "Adult-Music-Entertainment"!. The kids had "Sesame Street" to watch and nursery-rime-music to listen to! PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR RAISING THEIR CHILDREN and monitoring the the music that they listen to/TV programs, etc.
OMG the religious woman sited lyrics from Justify My Love got the meaning completely wrong. It very much a HER problem then anyone else’s, Madonna or not. 😅😅😅
People tend to forget how popular Madonna was. She was EVERYWHERE and on EVERY magazine cover. I remember it all fondly.
I always tell people that. Think of Taylor swift now. Times it by 1000. Because people had to actively go and get her media. There was no Spotify.
@@MikeFortino Taylor Swift never ever took risks. Her music is safe
Her popularity has never been in question. Not even for a second.
She still is😊
It was not by accident. She just didn’t do this herself she had a team n the product worked.
I remember this. The moral police needed to follow the rule of "If you don't like it, don't watch it".
Madonna is still here, still relevant and still surviving and thriving. Where is this guy 34 years later?
Geraldo? On Netflix Doll. He’s in the new OJ doc
@@therealwilfreddierkes9980 she's obviously talking about the conservative religious bigot that was on the guest panel.
@@therealwilfreddierkes9980 I thought she was talking about Joseph Reilly. His moral standpoint seems irrelevant to star power
39:40 Madonna was never a flash in the fan. It is now 2024 and she remains on top and is as popular than ever before!! The Queen remains supreme!!!
On top of what ? She doesn’t sell
Saw her last concert ...brought the house down as usual!!!
Aww, that's the kindest lie I've heard this year... It's over for Grandma!

The comments on doing everything on camera for affirmation is so relevant today with social media. It is such an addiction for many individuals.

Did he really say that? He was the go-to MTV interviewer and had good relationship with Madonna
