What a cool idea and a great mix! I found a few new songs I didn't know! My dad had that Warrant cassette when I was growing up and I remember the album cover so vividly. I hope you consider doing a fall mix (my favorite time of year). I will definitely give the entire playlist a listen! Loving all your creative nostalgic content! Made my night to see a new video posted. My song choice that makes me think of summer is "After the Rain" by Nelson (cheating as it released in 1990). But we had a camping trip growing up where my parents played that cassette the ENTIRE time and now every year when I go camping I have to bring my Nelson cassette :)

All night passion, Alisha. And 6. Can you feel the beat, Lisa Lisa.
Awesome idea! With the exception of Lita Ford and Damn Yankees, I've heard of all of these performers, even if I've never heard any of their songs. Of course my dad listened to alot of Foreigner, Genesis, Van Halen, Robert Palmer, Journey, and Toto when I was growing up. Addicted to Love was in the rotation, Invisible Touch is on the 1999 album, Turn It On Again: The Hits, which my dad has on CD, and he'd play it on our stereo system in the living room all the time. There was a mixtape that my dad had that he used to play in the car on our way up to the cottage and it had songs like "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler, "That's All" by Genesis, "Waiting for a Girl Like You" by Foreigner, "We've Got Tonight" by Bob Seger, and "Open Arms" by Journey to name a few, and so I associate those songs with going up to the cottage in the summertime. Also, it's funny that you mentioned "Dreams" by Van Halen, because I know that song because not only is it on the soundtrack album for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, but, it plays at the end of that movie, going into the beginning of the closing credits.

Pretty awesome list. Only one I really disagree about is addicted to love, never liked it. I always hated warrant because I hated the song cherry pie, mainly for the cartoon faces in the video, always creeped me out but they do have some cool songs, the one you mentioned is a good one for sure. I know you were going away from songs with summer in the title but I think Cruel Summer is the perfect summer song, also for boys of summer I actually like The Ataris' cover better from the early 2000's. Just sounds better to me.
