- George Groves spoke with Title sports Network’s Michelle Joy Phelps after Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision in Riyadh.
Groves discusses the claim Usyk’s jaw isn’t broken after it was announced in the post-fight press conference by team Fury.
The former super-middleweight world champion also shares his thoughts on the upcoming Jack Catterall vs Josh Taylor rematch in Leeds next weekend.

Yes George I had a broken jaw twice in my life,terrible pain
I had a compound fracture, my whole head swelled up like a beach ball within minutes and could hardly see out of my eyes because of the swelling or open my mouth to talk. I guess not all fractures are of equal severity but even sitting propped up on the sofa was uncomfortable. Fighting would have been an impossibility.

TalkSport said it about the broken jaw on there watchalong i always listen to see how there scoring it while im at the fight i was the one watching the fight in the crowd with headphones on, listening to TalkSport so i can hear Adam Smith and Spencer Oliver commentate while i watch it live to see who they have up they had Usyk winning by 4 rounds,,, btw i had Usyk up 2 to 3 rounds by the end of the fight,,, and How can you even tell it's not a broken jaw until you have the M.R.I Scan to see what the damage is ??? so someones tellin lies,, that's why the doctor backstage sends you to hospital like if you have a concussion from a KO or if the doctor thinks you may have broken something,, but the winners don't normally go to the hospital when they don't get KO'd or dropped bad,,, you only go for an M.R.I Scan on doctors orders if you've broken something or suffered a KO loss in the fight, aka concussion,,, because that's the standard protocol in Boxing,, but a winner who never got dropped has no need to go to hospital because the doctors check you out in the back Michelle after the fight,, and the doctor says you've gotta go to the hospital i dont like the look of this it could be more serious so they send you for an M.R.I Scan,,, when you win and get sent the hospital without being knocked out or down then you've either broken your hand, or jaw, or ribs, or cheek bones, or eye sockets, or anything major like that tje doctor will send you for an M.R.I Scan,,, There the rules,,, Michelle listen,, you don't announce you've got a broken Jaw because it becomes a target in your next fights,,, you've gotta think smart in this game,, and sometimes you need to lie to protect yourself,, like team Usyk have just done to you,, he's not got a broken jaw ??? Before the Scan ??? Yeah right they know its broke then and hiding it theyve gotta fight Fury again haven't they,, dont tell him hes jaw is broke or he'll know how to beat you,, and if he had broken ribs well you don't announce it to the world either or it's an instant target for your opponents in the next fight,, kinda like how Terence Crawford targeted Kell Brooks eye after he announced he had broken eye sockets,, then it becomes an instant target in all the next fights your in,, they even knew which eye to aim for on Kell Brook,, so it's not smart to tell all your opponents you have just broken something,, or they will say I'll fight him next and stop him.
