I echo Ash in the sentiment that this could be a really good replacement for skirmishing in the Age of Sigmar setting. The Brutal realms and the wandering Shrines of Ishtar have a very "Chaos Wastes" feel.
Figs are still available through Iron Wind Metals. Haven't heard anyone trying to get the game itself relaunched in 8-10 years though. Never going to happen, realistically.
We had two games yesterday. Burrows&Badgers merry highwaymen with the help of a Reaper cyborg armadillo bounty hunter VS an highly trained mercenary stryke team snatched from Star Saga. It was a blast :D.
I'd like to see you use some well-known minis and assess how well you can translate them into this game. Necrons being the regenerating AI, for example, up against a Frostgrave party.
Two accts made 6 days ago, posting about some random scam service in some random comment on a wargaming channel, on a video made a long while ago. Never change, bots, never change.
Odd that you need a username/password to access the Store on the Dark Age website, so other than the stuff on the main page I don't know what the minis look like. It's like they don't want you to buy/see the product but the rules are free ::shrugs::
This might just be me but i feel like the amount of different skirmish games out there is kinda stretching gaming groups thin i cant keep up. I enjoy playing one or two games max and most ppl end up flocking to the next thing is kinda irritating.
It's one of the things that has led me to liking minis agnostic games instead of ones tied to a product line. It's not so overwhelming when you have multiple rulebooks sitting on the shelf, if you have groups of minis that can be used in several of them depending on the feel of the moment. For instance, I have a warband of Primaris marines that can be used as-is in at least 4-5 of the skirmish rulesets I own, ranging from just normal guys in beefy power armor like Brotherhood of Steel, to super-soldiers like 40K Astartes or Battletech Clan Elementals.
The great thing about this and why I've ordered it is because it has rules for solo play! This means that even if nobody else wants to play, I still can-and can keep creating and playing characters no matter how popular or not it is 🙂
This looks like all kinds of fun. The thing to do is to really stretch the any figures theme. Something like a Walking Dead faction (C caaarrrll!) vs a House Teknes from Wraith of Kings. Put them on a board that looks a cross between a Walking Dead city and a realm right out of Age of Sigmar mashed together. Now there's a whole bunch-o-fun!
Which one or ones? There are a lot of them out there (and it's hard to define what the term really means - Rogue Stars is figure agnostic but doesn't do things outside of skirmish scifi terribly well), and most have something unique about them and many similarities. Contrasting this one to the others I've played, it's got more scenarios than usual, the immortality of your crew's models prevents you from needing new figs as replacements for casualties, there's a bit more light roleplaying involved than most, the campaign system is baked in instead of an afterthought or supplement, and the AI system seems to make solo play easier.
Please do the batrep with Dark Age models. I love that stuff and it will be balm on the wound of not being able to find any Kukulkani for a decent price ...
It looks really interesting and the fact you can use any miniatures you want makes it more fan hobbywise . Now we have to wait for a battle report!
Those Dark Age miniatures are a joy to see on the table, so they get my vote!
RIP Dark Age, I SO hope it returns at some point.

The font and title style looks so much like Malifaux 2e's core book.
I haven't heard the name Vor the Maelstrom in a long time. I had that book ages and ages ago.

Awesome idea. Visually I can't get over the feeling I'm looking at a Malifaux rulebook mind you.....

So basically the ending of Time Bandits yes? Knights, cowboys, and space marines? I’m in.
Looking forward to see you give this a turn on your wartable.
Because of the title I thought it was a Kickstarted Boardgame I almost backed a few years ago... Same name.
Sounds fun, I love figure agnostic games.
You should break out the Dead Space miniatures for this one, 2020 demands Isaac Clarke suffer a little more
You got me hooked on Rangers of Shadows Deep, now this... your killing my wallet Ash;)
Since you mentioned Eden... How about Punkapocalyptic miniatures? At least you can still get the models.
Game sounds fun, I look forward to your batrep
When are we going to see a playthrough?
I'm total checking this out,I've got to many random minis not to!
Cheers for the vid Ash.
Finally I can use my batman miniature game arkham joker crew with harly
Also check out Pulp Alley.
I made a bunch of Gotham heroes and villains in that game, it's kinda perfect.
Ash, you persuaded me... Purchased!
You had me at miniature agnostic skirmish game.

Cool. I thought if Dark Age minis right away.
I am so hyped to start playing this game
Anima Tactics heroes vs Dark Age AI
Just found your channel. Good stuff!
Nice one Ash! Now please do the same for Open Combat, and then feed it to Owen, lets see if he can break the system😁
I know the guy who created this. He Runs Shorehammer.

Are you ging to play a test game on your channel?
Yup!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames when?
Do you think this would be good for a xcom like game or do you have a recanmendation for a good system for xcom? Thanks for all the good vids
100% would work with xcom. It is very similar in mechanics. You even have the specialized classes just like in X com.
Thanks for another great video. Anxiously awaiting the report 😉

Your BMG miniatures.
(Then try them out in Pulp Alley)
Blades of Khorne (from AoS) or dark age!
Where can you purchase a hard copy?
The website should have it!
Pirates vs Ninjas!!
"I think we can all agree that a pirate-ninja would be the coolest thing ever."
Love this video, also love hearing Ash swallow burps like a fun uncle after a long night out.

I was actually thinking of doing my Dark Age models vs Wrath of Kings Goritsi with a Vampire Hunter D kind of theme :)
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Yes! Perfect. This game can be the tabletop miniatures equivalent to Ready Player One.
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Wrath of Kings? Is that dead as a post, or did I miss wherever the community moved to?
This sounds really cool.
What, in your opinion, makes it different from all the other Miniature agnostic games?
Again, sounds pretty darn cool.

seems the exact same thing as No Quarters/No Limits.
Someone has insight on that ?
This looks cool!
Could you play a team with Dinosaurs? One big dino? team of all Raptors?
Can't see why not. It's all about how you imagine and portray the model types and skills you are choosing. The beauty of minis agnostic games.
100% yes
"I like dinosaurs" 😂
