This whole survival show thing is just plain cruel. At first, all 98 trainees probably felt intimidated and so on since all of them want to debut. But as time passes, they all became friends, even some became best buddies. But only 11 of them gets to debut. For a year 11 of them will get to promote under Wanna One. But then, they must disband and go back to their original company. What a strong mentality they have there... Just like season 1, this whole thing is plaine cruel and breaks my heart to see them like this too...

It is not tears from being so sad that he doesn't have his teammates in Nu'est in P101/WannaOne, nor is it tears of happiness from being the only one who joined in Nu'est - it's complicated, and all that rushed into him at once. The reality is after their initial popularity with Face in 2012, they had not been popular enough to earn revenues and make a name for themselves. Imagine dreaming to debut as an idol and when you do, you achieve that initial popularity - and then imagine every time you do another round of promotions, people hating your music or not knowing you and even being ignored for your efforts. Nu'est was the popular rookie during their debut (Exo and VIXX and BTOB were essentially ignored back then for their debut songs, them and BAP were forerunners in Male Rookie Groups), and imagine them seeing fellow idols in their batch succeed and become legends while they rot away and lessen their popularity - eventually being in the state where having to publish a new album means to beg and wait for their junior labelmates make enough money for them to release a new album and then seeing the album flop. They must have been through so much hurt and pain, to even continue dreaming. That's why I understood Aron back then, even if he was kind of rude. Every one of them in Nu'est is still in debt and bankrupt enough because all their efforts to appeal to people failed. Imagine having to handcraft your comeback for themselves (Minki in Art Direction and Dongho in Song Production and Jonghyun in Rap Lyricism) and ultimately be rewarded in debt. And seeing Seventeen succeed was a big ache for them - and that desperation led them to go to P101 S2. They went there knowing not all of them would debut. They know that they woud be hated. They know how broadcast would play them unfair. They went there knowing that their contracts would end in Pledis the same time the contract of WannaOne would end. Yet they did, out of thinking that this is their only chance of being known, of promoting their group, or even making people know that they are talented. In my opinion, they thought that they wouldn't even make it after the second evaluation in the beginning. But people noticed their talents and their pure caring characters and their experience. They made a name out of themselves again and they knew what that meant to them. And they were happy, we all see it in the later episodes. They genuinely laughed and cried and made new friends - ones that made them set on dreaming more things. But I don't know. Nu'est would never be the same again, as I had seen them since. That gentle happy Minhyun I saw during debut faded into a quiet Minhyun in P101S2 and it changed midway to be that mature hyung. That laughing Dongho I saw during debut became a sign of failure and voice cracks to become a serious yet compassionate coach. That weirdly charismatic leader Jonghyun that became sort of depressed pitiful guy who kept blaming himself for the team not achieving anything moved the nation and became someone so selfless. That Minki that was too beautiful for words that just became someone who we only saw as a girl/guy became someone who was unique and talented and charismatic. And it will take a while to see them again as a whole - and that reality fell unto Minhyun. He was certain that Jonghyun would get in, in his head. I also think he thought DongHo would have a chance too. He, in his calculative mind, accepted that he and Jonghyun would help Nu'est. But the finale happened and he felt terribly alone, sorry, painful and uncertain. His eyes seeked the other members as if it hurt to do this, to debut while placing the whole group in uncertainty. And that's what I think hurt the more - that uncertainty of the future of the people who dreamed with him, who trained with him, who accepted the pain and reality of this business with him, and then striving forward without any plan in the future with them... that hurts the most.
What hurts the most is that 4/6 Justice League and 6/7 Never members made it into Wanna One. Jonghyun was the leader of both those groups and was a kind, amazing and selfless role model. It hurts so much that he was left behind.

It really breaks my heart because him for being one of the winners that night, Minhyun still felt like he lost so much. He will be separated from Nu'est and with their contract ending in mid 2018 but he is exclusive with PD101 contract, not to mention uncertainty of Nu'est's contract renewal....it seems like his days as a Nu'est member has certainty of coming to an end already😭😭😭I cried along with him and when he just stood at the far back of the stage to say goodbye...do need to say how much that made my heart ache a lot😭😭😭

For those confused, this isn't like last season. The contracts this time state they can't do any outside promotions away from the group. Meaning Minhyun can't participate in any Nu'est comeback until January 2019! So they have no choice but to make a comeback without him.

Yiyiwi nah I'm pre sure Minhyun was in top 11 from online votings. They showed four trainees who were out of top 11, this led to crazy on site voting for these trainees, causing them to rise. And when the 11th trainee was shown, it was Minhyun. I suspect he had dropped, and lucky, had been lifted up after the revelation. The ones who copped it the most were Samuel and Jonghyun. Mnet accidentally posted the original top 11 from online voting and JH, Samuel, Dongho were all in it

This whole survival show thing is just plain cruel. At first, all 98 trainees probably felt intimidated and so on since all of them want to debut. But as time passes, they all became friends, even some became best buddies. But only 11 of them gets to debut. For a year 11 of them will get to promote under Wanna One. But then, they must disband and go back to their original company. What a strong mentality they have there... Just like season 1, this whole thing is plaine cruel and breaks my heart to see them like this too...

It is not tears from being so sad that he doesn't have his teammates in Nu'est in P101/WannaOne, nor is it tears of happiness from being the only one who joined in Nu'est - it's complicated, and all that rushed into him at once. The reality is after their initial popularity with Face in 2012, they had not been popular enough to earn revenues and make a name for themselves. Imagine dreaming to debut as an idol and when you do, you achieve that initial popularity - and then imagine every time you do another round of promotions, people hating your music or not knowing you and even being ignored for your efforts. Nu'est was the popular rookie during their debut (Exo and VIXX and BTOB were essentially ignored back then for their debut songs, them and BAP were forerunners in Male Rookie Groups), and imagine them seeing fellow idols in their batch succeed and become legends while they rot away and lessen their popularity - eventually being in the state where having to publish a new album means to beg and wait for their junior labelmates make enough money for them to release a new album and then seeing the album flop. They must have been through so much hurt and pain, to even continue dreaming.
That's why I understood Aron back then, even if he was kind of rude. Every one of them in Nu'est is still in debt and bankrupt enough because all their efforts to appeal to people failed. Imagine having to handcraft your comeback for themselves (Minki in Art Direction and Dongho in Song Production and Jonghyun in Rap Lyricism) and ultimately be rewarded in debt. And seeing Seventeen succeed was a big ache for them - and that desperation led them to go to P101 S2.
They went there knowing not all of them would debut. They know that they woud be hated. They know how broadcast would play them unfair. They went there knowing that their contracts would end in Pledis the same time the contract of WannaOne would end. Yet they did, out of thinking that this is their only chance of being known, of promoting their group, or even making people know that they are talented. In my opinion, they thought that they wouldn't even make it after the second evaluation in the beginning. But people noticed their talents and their pure caring characters and their experience. They made a name out of themselves again and they knew what that meant to them. And they were happy, we all see it in the later episodes. They genuinely laughed and cried and made new friends - ones that made them set on dreaming more things.
But I don't know. Nu'est would never be the same again, as I had seen them since. That gentle happy Minhyun I saw during debut faded into a quiet Minhyun in P101S2 and it changed midway to be that mature hyung. That laughing Dongho I saw during debut became a sign of failure and voice cracks to become a serious yet compassionate coach. That weirdly charismatic leader Jonghyun that became sort of depressed pitiful guy who kept blaming himself for the team not achieving anything moved the nation and became someone so selfless. That Minki that was too beautiful for words that just became someone who we only saw as a girl/guy became someone who was unique and talented and charismatic. And it will take a while to see them again as a whole - and that reality fell unto Minhyun.
He was certain that Jonghyun would get in, in his head. I also think he thought DongHo would have a chance too. He, in his calculative mind, accepted that he and Jonghyun would help Nu'est. But the finale happened and he felt terribly alone, sorry, painful and uncertain. His eyes seeked the other members as if it hurt to do this, to debut while placing the whole group in uncertainty. And that's what I think hurt the more - that uncertainty of the future of the people who dreamed with him, who trained with him, who accepted the pain and reality of this business with him, and then striving forward without any plan in the future with them... that hurts the most.

What hurts the most is that 4/6 Justice League and 6/7 Never members made it into Wanna One. Jonghyun was the leader of both those groups and was a kind, amazing and selfless role model. It hurts so much that he was left behind.

It really breaks my heart because him for being one of the winners that night, Minhyun still felt like he lost so much. He will be separated from Nu'est and with their contract ending in mid 2018 but he is exclusive with PD101 contract, not to mention uncertainty of Nu'est's contract renewal....it seems like his days as a Nu'est member has certainty of coming to an end already😭😭😭I cried along with him and when he just stood at the far back of the stage to say goodbye...do need to say how much that made my heart ache a lot😭😭😭

It is sad that Minhyun has to leave the other 3 members of his family behind but alas that was the way this show worked. Voting can always go either way in someones favour. I understand Minhyun's pain for the position he found himself in but I have to give a shout out to his buddie Seonho for giving him comfort and hugs when Seonho saw Minhyun was hurtng. He never hesitated even though he was probably sad as well because he also missed out on top 11. That shows me what an awesome person Seonho had become throughout the process of Produce 101. I wish them both good times. Friends forever knowing how much Seonho looked up to Minhyun.

For those confused, this isn't like last season. The contracts this time state they can't do any outside promotions away from the group. Meaning Minhyun can't participate in any Nu'est comeback until January 2019! So they have no choice but to make a comeback without him.
