I've seen a few of those episodes myself. After his time of being a panelist on a few shows, he would get his own game show for most of the 80s on The Nashville Network, "Fandango".

I first Bill Anderson as a guest on PASSWORD PLUS, but I do know that he did co-host a short-lived Mark Goodson show called THE BETTER SEX with Sarah Purcell who was also guesting on PASSWORD PLUS along with Mr. Anderson.
Bill Anderson also had like a game show on the Nashville Network in 1987 called Fandango, with Edgar, the talking jukebox, where contestants would answer questions for prizes. Does anybody remember this show besides me ? LORD, I hope so, Because otherwise I'm really getting old! ...... lol 😀😀
I was 12 yrs old in 1965, but I would have had to disqualify myself because I knew who Bill Anderson is - and I'll bet by the end of the 60's decade, they all did too.
I believe this marked the approximate end of RQ's tenure. Goodson was still producing game shows in New York, and Lewis was spending more time in Hollywood (movies, guest shots and radio). Merv was probably outcast as he had started his own production company. Convy did indeed have tenure...I believe he was on G-T's payroll from 1968 till his death.

NO -- Bill Anderson did NOT start Po Folks. Betty K. Hare opened the first PoFolks in Anderson SC (ironically). They clearly were profiting off the name of Bill's 1961 hit. Rather than sue, being the class act that he is, he sold the chain the rights to the name and made a deal to become their spokesman. LATER in 1983 Bill did own one franchise location in Oklahoma City - his joint owner was Conway Twitty. Burt Reynolds did own a restaurant in Ft Lauderdale in conjunction with Jack Jackson. But its name was Burt and Jacks. Burt had no connection to Po Folks. SORRY.
Maybe nobody on that panel ---- but HARDLY nobody - City Lights hit #1 in 63, Tips of My Fingers, 8X10 and Mama Sang a Song had also charted by then :-)
@@cjstone3140 City folks for sure -- but I don't recall any of those four ever coming across as especially "uppity" . They always struck me as pretty decent folks -- or at least good enough actors to present that front.

Billanderson7382 is a scammer, for those who haven't already figured that out.
I just saw Bill Anderson July 23 , 2019 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville! He was the opening act.

love this .
Great memories ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I worked at WSM for several years, and Bill Anderson remains one of my favorite people in Nashville. Or to be more accurate, in Hermitage.
Little did Bill Anderson know that he would one day end up working for Goodson & Todman himself.
He did appear on "Match Game" a few times.
I've seen a few of those episodes myself. After his time of being a panelist on a few shows, he would get his own game show for most of the 80s on The Nashville Network, "Fandango".
He also hosted "The Better Sex", along with Sarah Purcell.

The costumes number 1 and number 3 have on are suites Porter Wagoner would definitely be proud of.
Bill was a game show host on TNN Network.
FANDANGO
number 3 no doubt
I first Bill Anderson as a guest on PASSWORD PLUS, but I do know that he did co-host a short-lived Mark Goodson show called THE BETTER SEX with Sarah Purcell who was also guesting on PASSWORD PLUS along with Mr. Anderson.
+agd29ifi And there was a female contestant who appeared on Password +, who played in the ladies team on The Better Serx.

Surprised they didn't mention Tracy Stallard gave up Roger Maris's 61st home run in 1961.

It's all I had. LOL!
I believe Robert Q. is underpraised. He was possibly Goodson-Todman's greatest "go-to-guy".

They should have recognized him by his voice alone.
Bill and Burt Reynolds , started a restaurant chain called po Folks, Still a few in Fla. Good eats!

These questions are truly dumb. They have nothing to do with who Bill Anderson is
They were not dumb. They were questions that the panelists figured that a successful songwriter and country musician would know the answers to.
I never like Anderson, his singing was horrible in my opinion compared to so many other country western singers.
I think he is mostly a song writer
saw HIM live JULY b4 ''9/11!!
