I was attending a Toto’s concert, my first concert by the way, and then they dropped this masterpiece played by Porcaro himself at the keyboards. And while struggling to know the title of the song I found that the song was written by them for Michael. In that very moment while hearing that shining keyboard melody I found what bliss truly is.
It was about a year ago, I hadn’t really listened to MJ before, but decided to watch his 1988 Wembley show. I was liking it, but it was only background music until Human Nature came on. Then I was just captivated. Literally the song that made me a fan of his!
The year was 1986 for me the 1st time I heard this masterpiece of a song. I was in the backseat of my Dad's car on our way to pick up my mom from her college classes. It was playing on the radio in Los Angeles on a summer night cruising downtown Los Angeles. I remember sticking out my head out the window seeing the shimmering glasses of the downtown buildings.
Yaaay! I've always wanted to learn this song! My mum bought the "Thriller" album in the mid 80's initially because she fell in love w/ 'Thriller' the song, but once she went through the whole album she really fell in love with 'Human Nature' and would always replay it again and again, every single day when she's resting. So naturally I became a huge fan of Michael growing up since my parents, siblings and I would play the "Thriller" album often on the grammophone and this ended up becoming my favourite song of all time! So thanks guys!

Human Nature is a song written and composed by Steve Porcaro and John Bettis, produced by Quincy Jones and performed by Michael Jackson without the men in the shadows, no light!
Toto didn't really write this song... for Michael Jackson. Steve Porcaro was working on synthesizers for the Thriller album. David Paich was feeding Quincy Jones some ideas for songs. Steve Porcaro independently got the idea for this song from a conversation he had with his small daughter. He wrote the song and recorded a demo on a cassette. He was only working on the synth programming. Quincy Jones sent an assistant every day to get Paich's ideas on a cassette. Paich had to transfer a recording of his ideas to cassette for Quincy, he asked Porcaro is he could help him do that. Porcaro said, sure, but found they had no more empty cassettes. So, he took the cassette with Human Nature and recorded Paich's stuff on on side queued it up and labeled the side as "A" so when Jones started it, Paich's thing would play. Later, Quincy called and asked about what was on side B. He had heard side A, and then left the machine running. Side A reached the end after a while and the machine auto played side B where Human Nature was. So, they spoke about having Michael have it on Thriller. So, Porcaro wrote it, not Toto, and he never thought about it being for Michael Jackson.😊
