LOVED IT!!!!!!! THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN OF FAR THIS YEAR. HOWEVER, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A BROADER PERSPECTIVE TO GET A SENSE OF THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE INVOLVED; AND PEOPLE'S REACTION TO THE SURPRISE DANCE. THAT'S ALWAYS FUN TO SEE, TOO. I'M FROM L.A., AND WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT RIGHT YET. GOOD JOB TORONTO!!!
yes, proud parents are hard to keep away. Trust me, we were a little disappointed as well with the "lack of surprse". Still turned out fabulous, NBS ! So proud to be a part of this - when do we get to do it again ??!!!
People were still surprised including those working in all levels of the mall and office spaces. Only one tweet said flashmob and the rest of twitter was quiet. They did a great job!
I've shared this video as far as I can--A most fabulous celebration of dance, for sure. What a great example of teamwork and one vision, sharing and celebrating dance for all!
I'm currently reading an article about Jeff Melanson, the executive director of NBS. The article is called "Dance for your dinner" (Timm, J., 2010). I really appreciate what he has done and what he is doing to help society. It's brilliant. We need a lot more leader's like him to help art businesses grow.
YEAA this is my school :) I LOVE YOU GUYS :) best school ever ! GO MR.KASTOFF ! YEA Ms.TOTO ! haah we were supposed to go and watch but because we have 150 students it would be too crowded with everybody else there too. AWSOME ! GO NBS ! :D
AWSOME!! FINALLY A FLASH MOB FOR WHAT A FLASH MOB IS BY DEFINITION. THANK YOU!! :) can you shouw the people that call them selfs flash mobs what a flash mob is lol :)
alpha754293 - yup that is the goal. However, when kids are involved (and there were many here) their parents all come to watch (and grandmas and friends...). :) A small price to pay, I think, for having all of those people participating!
Muito bom, muito bom mesmo, não consigo ver uma relação tão emocionante com musica, dança, sorrizos e o mais importante, pessoas se relacionando com a dança. muito bom mesmo!
@101makana 500 people are in this routine and i'm dancing with them it was a pretty hard routine but you can easly learn the chorus with people there teaching you hope you get the routine
wait a minute...that's not really a flash mob. Why are there people already standing in a circle at the start of the dance? The whole point of a flash mob is for a (large) group of people to randomly break into dance so that it APPEARS natural and unchoreographed. (Even though it is.) See the T-mobile commerical - where they flash mobbed at the Liverpool Station.
Uh, in the beggining, why are people standing around in a circle like they were already expecting a show to happen?? I thought this was a 'flashmob' Flashmob fail
now THAT is a flash mob. i hate the others that are in a square already and OBVIOUSLY sumthings about to happen from all the cameras...its not really a FLASH then now is it
It is International BALLET DAY, not Dance Day, because this is the birth date of the Grate French BALLETMASTER- J-G.Noverre from the 18th century. It has nothing to do with Hip-Hop, Jazz, etc. This date has been selected for the holiday of the BALLET in Sofia- Eorope- on one of the sessions of UNESCO. I hate that some people occupy our holiday! I do not agree the street Hip-Hop from the Ghetto, Tap, Jazz and other American Street Dances to celebrate with us! Let them invent their own holiday!!!!! And as usual this nonsense again departs from America, they can not be reconciled with the idea that there was a life in the Earth before them and that many, many things were created Centuries before them. They want everything they have created and invented: occupy things and reshaped them in their own way to look like they created them. Now here take our European date of BALLET and began to call it “ Dance Day” and all around the world began to follow them and think that was founded in America, because that how they spread it on TH-cam, internet, etc! This is just terribly presumptuous and cheeky! To all the Ballet Dancers: Happy International BALLET DAY!!!!!!
looking back at this during the 60th anniversary!

This is brilliant. Thank you, dancers, for making the world just a little more beautiful.
Awesome. When you watch such videos it appears world is so peaceful and Life is a celebration..
I love all the angles, it gets absolutely everyone, including the little guys :)
Nice, classy choice of music. Makes your flash mob stand out above the rest.
A fantastic burst of happy! The dancers didn't even know that they may have cheered someone up that day!
i saw a grandpa & a grandma dancing in that crowd.. & little munchkins. I love it :)
Simply brilliant! Especially when the fountain went off at the perfect time! I wish there was something like this where I live!
i love how they're dancing on two floors!
THE BEST EVER!!!!!
Let's do it again!!!!!!
Perfect timing at the end with the fountain

The most amazing thing is how they timed it with the fountain (cause the fountain goes on and off regularly along the day), that was a GREAT effect :D
People were still surprised including those working in all levels of the mall and office spaces. Only one tweet said flashmob and the rest of twitter was quiet. They did a great job!

I have a feeling if more people broke into dance at public places the world would be a better place. You know, less wars...or something.

Does that happen every year in Toronto?
@therealgiannab8D this was way before..
why didn't they do the national dance day choreo?
wouldve been funny if this was a master burglary where the stores are robbed when everyone is distracted.
Was it for a class at Concordia? comm210? lol
not because of jb.
it's just because canadians are so warm and friendly c:
Uh, in the beggining, why are people standing around in a circle like they were already expecting a show to happen??
