Hendrix is quite one of the most tastiest and fulfilling guitarists in history indeed! The tones he uses were quite insane and innovative in his prime, which is his entire career!
@Vinnie Provolone I agree man. He may. He may not have been the most technical, but truly was one of the first to make guitar an innovative and important instrument solo or band.
Marty, you've filled up all of my time with this pandemic shut down. I've spent the past week breaking down the licks you've taught, between this video, little wing and the bb king thrill is gone, props to you my man, best guitar teacher on the internet.
I don’t play guitar but love all rock , so watching you break it down is a blast. I was one of the lucky ones who got to see Jimi live in the 60’s in California
Ive always struggled trying to do lick #2 but THANK YOU for teaching me you actually bend the 7th up to the root but bending the note a half step down makes it so much easier to bend the other note down.
You're totally awesome Marty love the way you break the music down and haow you repeat yourself and especially the camera angles you do. Has helped me tremendously. Idk how you feel about the band ghost but i cant seem to find any videos where they play and teach like you do. They are either bad camera angles or they dont slow and repeat the processes. Itd be totally awesome if you did one or two of their tunes. Even if you dont still awesome and thank you very much for your videos
Marty, thanks so much, I’ve been trying to think of things to get me out of my rut and add some new things to soloing, this is exactly what I needed. I’ve learned more from your videos than all my lessons and other videos combined. Keep up the great work
Thanks Marty for making these tasty styles accessible to us mortals. I go from I wish I could sound like that ... to I think I might be able to do that after watching your lessons.
Marty, thanks for this video. Also thanks for teaching me how to play the guitar!! I been playing for 5 years now and I love looking out for your new lessons.
First off love your videos! It's great getting all these licks, but the video I would love to see is a ten or twenty lick video and then at the end put all of the licks in a solo or a couple different solos so we can get a good idea of them working together! PLEASE MAKE THIS VIDEO ASAP!!!
Love to hear Hendrix, thank you Marty, I have been waiting on someone to do the leads and solo for Blue on Black by Kenny Wayne Sheppard and no one will seem to do it, nothing But the Blues.
Question…. In the third lick I was watching your picking hand and you alternate, down up down style instead of sweeping the pick across all three strings, down pick rest on the next string. Which is the right way? Or best way.
Hi my favorite guitar lesson maestro. Could you please do" daydream" by Robin Trower. The two I've found on you tube go too fast for me and the way you explain and teach is just what I need. In fact for the younger guitarists that might have never heard of him this might be a good idea for you. He has alot of good stuff and resembles Hendrix style playing. Much appreciated my good friend. ,Rock on 🤘 and peace out!
Hey man I was wandering if you could make a lesson on victim of love from the eagles! I can’t find anything on it!!!! I would love to know how to play it on electric and my acoustic!
Hey, your videos on how to play the electric and acoustic versions of Layla aren’t available in the USA anymore. Do you know why? And if you do, can you fix it please?
Marty, I know this song isnt relevant to this video, however I'm struggling a bit with the strumming for The Civil Wars song 20 years, any chance of you doing that song?
MARTY I recently decided to tune my guitar down to Eb, to account for the brightness of my cheap guitar. I can't seem to figure out how to determine the change in my scale patterns. I don't know how to word the search properly to find alternative scale charts, but I'm sure they are out there. Is there some trick to it? Can you help? Thanks, Zach.
@@vincehuneycutt But, when I tune down, I can no longer play to the same backing tracks, using the same scale patterns. It's all half a step over and it's kind of confusing. I guess the backing tracks would have to be in the same tuning? I was really hoping to still be able to use the backing tracks.
Wasn't into Hendrix originally, but I became a fan after watching your channel and learning just how many people I actually did listen to, like John Mayer, were influenced by him.
Hey marty i started guitar but i have a question It might seem stupid but i dont know how to use the strings like going from step to step or do i hold it down or light press i am confused
i learned that its kind of a balance. not too weak but not too hard, just enough for you to strum without that annoying buzzing sound. that way you use less energy holding strings, and it’s easier to move up and down the fretboard

Marty, where did you buy your hat? (cool licks as well!)
Question…. In the third lick I was watching your picking hand and you alternate, down up down style instead of sweeping the pick across all three strings, down pick rest on the next string. Which is the right way? Or best way.

Zachariah Tuning to Eb will not effect how the scales are laid out. That’s the reason why you tune it down, to match a singers voice or for tone.
