Wait a minute isn't Ja40 meant to be at Auckland but its in Christchurch loool forget my other comment, when was this and was this before 1240 came to Auckland aswell
Emmanuel Habtegabre Hey, Ja 1240 was restored by Mainline Steam Trust at their Parnell Depot, Auckland in September 2012. After a few mouths of running in at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway plus hauling a few mainline excursions it was transferred to the Christchurch base. At the time of this comment, 1240 was stored at Dunedin loco depot from October 2014 to star in Dream work's motion picture "Light Between the Oceans" plus running out of the city. It is due to be light steamed home to Christchurch on a freight in the next few weeks.
So originally Ja1240 is home to Christchurch and perhaps Ja1250 is the same i soppose but moved to Auckland a while back. One thing can Ja1240 pull the equalivant of a normal daily freight waggons i wish i could see one or if no just like putting 2 Dc's together what if u have 2 Ja classes ha

NZ RailAction No really cause i work close to 1240 and its in the mail line steam shed
+NZ RailAction Really a plane?...that thing is 69 tonnes. I would've thought they just towed it down there or under its own power.
