I upgraded my E36 M3 w a Gripforce FX Stage 2 kit w single mass flywheel and its awesome! Engine revs so freely, super smooth shifts and no annoying chatter. I did use an OEM throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Best $350 i ever spent.
Nice job Dude! I think I’m gonna need to get this done in the near future, but think I’m gonna have to take it to a shop, I don’t have access to a lift. Update on the Carly, and vacuum leak btw, got the leak fixed, it was the vacuum control valve on the back of the intake. I’ve also coded the windows to go up and down with the key, which is nice on hot days, lol. Thanks again and keep up the great work, happy driving to ya Evan 👍👍👍
Try doing the clutch by myself on jack stands couple days ago. I wasn't able toget the transmission off completely since I wasn't able to get to the final three bolts on the top of the transmission.ended up putting it back together but looks like the starter motor isn't in the right orientation or something because now car is making a screeching noise when I try to start it
Three tips. 1. Get an engine support bar and tilt the engine to get the top bolts. 2. Car should be jacked at least 19.5” to work under there. 3. Use some firm prying to remove tranny. May be necessary to use PB Blaster on couple of trans alignment divots that rust onto block.
Guys I have a 318ci auto and when I put it into d or r or park I can feel and hear a clunk from the back. Also if I put my foot down hard u can hear the clunk for 1 second. Any ideas what it can be? Diss bushing?
It was around a 12 hour day but we did take breaks and had to run out to get a tool and lunch. However we also did a lot more than just replace a clutch and flywheel. We did all the seals in the transmission and rebuilt the shifter. Which I highly recommend we also did the guibo and rear main
as someone halfway thru a46 clutch replacement - this video is fax

Great job dude. The clutch disk itself had plenty of life left in her. The heat spots are from riding the clutch.
Thanks man. Thanks for letting me know that about the heat spots too I didn’t know that
Thanks for another great educational video.
Thank you!

Thanks man! I don’t think I would have tackled it without a lift. Glad to hear you fixed your vacuum issues!

Yes could be diff bushings and or transmission mounts
Evan Goyuk thanks a million
Plan to do this soon on mine, any good clutch recommendations?
Oe Luks and make sure you get a new flywheel
Great job. So how long did the job take overall?
