amazing watch, so many golden insights. what do you think is better points scoring, short and wilson (or lazzaro/windsor) OR flanders and hustwaite/roberts (can only field 2 of mckercher sanders hustwaite roberts) basically i have this idea where i can fit in every rookie i want and not pick any premos im not super keen on, but it pushes 2 of those mid rookies to the mid bench and makes my f5-8 sexton wilson lazzaro/windsor and cadman i think short is probably the most slept on premo, certainly for defenders
Hey Luke. Thanks for your support. That’s a tough Q because you’re looking across lines. I have Flanders in that 95-102 points range, and Short in a similar range too (potentially a tad higher). But I would prefer Hustwaite/Roberts over Wilson because both of their roles are better than Wilson’s. Ideally though, you’d start all 3 of them - if it’s a matter of who you would start on field, Hustwaite/Roberts > Wilson! If it wasn’t for the early bye I reckon a lot more would be choosing Jayden Short! Hope this helps!
@janathfernando1695 yeah the short option is very imbalanced where you have to bench 1 extra of those 2 good rookies, where I'm sure at least 1 will probably clear wilson for scoring. I guess the way you would make up those points is if Jayden short was well clear of Flanders in scoring, eg. He goes 110 vs Flanders 95. I was curious what your thoughts were so thanks for answering my question. I finally reached a side I was happy with the other day, but since then have felt compelled to bring in Luke Jackson, which suddenly has me in a position where I have LJ Flanders and fisher when my fwd line has been super light most of preseason and it feels a bit weird haha. But I think this is unavoidable if I want Luke Jackson, unless I want to upset the balance of my team. The only other way that I can think of to get rid of Flanders is by dropping him down to fyfe/harmes and upgrading wines, but I feel like Flanders and wines will score more than dawson/green and fyfe/harmes. Also you're left with a decent chunk of money left over in the bank. Why Dawson/green? Well for me right now I currently have 3 spots for 600k+ mids and bont and butters are locked in at 1st and 2nd preference - I'm constantly flipping between Dawson and green for who I like best for that 3rd spot. I do not like LDU because of big durability concerns. One way I've been told to look at it is that after 12 games Dawson plays 12 compared to greens 10, therefore if your replacement scores in best 18 are 60s green needs roughly 122 to match Dawson going at 115, of course, Dawson is 25k dearer. Thoughts lol 😆 sorry really long comment
@janathfernando1695 I just realised, and hilarious oversight to not notice this sooner, but with this jayden short team idea I had daicos in midfield, therefore i could get touk instead! (Or Steele if you like him) Touk and wilson/lazzaro vs Flanders and hustwaite/Roberts is more interesting I think, though it's still probably the latter just because i reckon at least 1 of those two rookies probably gaps wilson/lazzaro for scoring.
Hopefully we get a definitive timeline on Sean Darcy’s injury mate! Anything above 5-6 weeks and I’d feel very pressed to start Jackson as my F1 - would get there from Fyfe + Harmes to Jackson + a basement rookie. Heeney is very tempting too, but I that early bye is enough to put me off of starting him! Cheers
Tough one Fletcher! I would go Heeney, because with the Swans mids missing to start the season, if you’d want Heeney it’d be to start the season to maximise his scoring. Heeney is primed for a **stardom** season surely. I’m still not 100% sold on Flanders! Although the got 50% CBAs and scored well against the Tigers, I personally can’t see 4 Suns mids averaging > 100 points across the season. Hope this helps!

Over half the teams in the comp are based in Victoria - so what? I'm not complaining about Port btw - end of season they don't leave Adelaide to play in Grand Finals😜
I really like Jai Newcombe mate! He could enter top 8 calculations this year! Probably underpriced, but I think there’s more value in players below him (Wines, Steele, Crouch, Touk) who have performed well in the past, as well as in some of the Uber premos. Newcombe is defs a gut call pick though! He does love a matchup vs the Doggies midfield - if he bumps his tackle numbers he could be an Uber Top 8 mid premo this year. Rowell has that early bye, and similar with Flanders I’m not sure that all 4 top Suns mids average above 100 across the season!

I find the whole port only leave Adelaide twice through the first 10 rounds pretty funny. some of the Melb teams only play away 4-5 times a year🤣
