That's how they conduct interviews in that county. Perhaps it could make the suspect feel more comfortable instead of being a police station room. Also they put him in the front seat to make him feel special.
Anyone catch that he said, “I went back to the kennels?” Like he was there earlier. He was flustered after he said that knowing he slipped his words. And no, I don’t believe he meant back by the kennels. He was talking about where he went, including back to the house after visiting his mom and then said back to the kennels…as if he was there earlier after he said he was never there.
He killed them, went to his parents’ home which was close to the farm, he changed clothes, threw his bloody clothes away, returned to the crime scene and then called 911. If you haven’t seen the testimony of Ms. Smith, who was the caretaker of his mom, Mrs. Libby, from 8pm to 8am when Alex was there he absolutely threatened her and said don’t forget “I was here 40 minutes “. She was so scared in her testimony and said Alex was only there 20 minutes. If he’s not found guilty, the court and his lawyers are so freaking corrupt!😡😡😡
Do you think that’s why she cried full on tears for about 60 seconds toward the beginning? He asked why she was crying and she said something about she loved the family and working there. I felt like it was odd because she seemed to be trembling.
How about when Harpotlian made her FAMILY stand up in the court! That was so uncomfortable! It almost felt like a backhanded "compliment" about her family. I got the impression that was just another threat!
He sure seems............relieved. This interview happened on the day he would have had to show up for the boat-accident trial. But since Paul was dead, he didn't have to. He looks this relaxed only three days after his "beloved" wife and son were shot in the chest and head with multiple guns and ammo? Brains splattered all over the ground? His demeanor does NOT reflect what has happened. At all. Killing his son got Alex out of that lawsuit, and out of the financial scrutiny it was causing him. Hence the relief.............
The pure level of evil to convince the officer to go give the in laws “peace of mind “ when’s he brutally shot and murdered their daughter in cold blood is really chilling and mind bendingly evil
COLDBLOODED !!HOW COULD HE GIVE A DAMN ABOUT AN IN-LAW!! LETS DO THIS LOCK HIM UP AND THROW AWAY? The lights , toilet lets try the OLD DARK ROOM EXPERIMENT. This way he can beg Maggie and Paul to leave him alone , Because im sure he’s not sleeping soundly these days. I’ve watched documentaries about lifers in prison, who share they see their victims or victim every time they go to sleep they never rest and Alex should not either. It tells me this too that just because the person is locked away. The victims still can’t Rest In Peace. If a prisoner is haunted by their victim there can’t be any peace? I guess I’ll never know 😒so sad to think a loved one still can’t rest because their killer still breath .🤨
I wonder at what point the lead detective felt like he may be talking to the suspect. Was it the first or second interview because I know by that third interview that detective was ready to put the cuffs on him.
Alec continuously pounds the 'Boat Accident' every chance he gets as the cause for their murders. He assumed everyone would wholeheartedly agree that it was a revenge killing, feel sorry for him and move on. ~ WRONG ~
Yes I agree with both of your sentiments. He's definitely not sophisticated, not as smart as he thinks and his crying is obnoxious to me, like nails on a chalkboard. I found myself wanting to say "can you please stop fake crying you sound ridiculous"?
Let me get this straight. Maggie heads to the kennels at night. He naps on couch and thinks he MAY have heard a strange car outside. He calls or texts Maggie to ask if she wanted to go to his Mother's but does not answer. So he gets in his car and thinks again he MAY have seen a stranger or a wildcat but isn't sure. So let's recap. He may have heard a strange car outside, seen a stranger or a wildcat but NEVER simply drives to kennels to check on his wife who does not answer his call or text. Instead he simply leaves his wife in the dark to the wiles of a stranger and or wildcat. That is crazy and defies all common sense. But it gets worse. He NEVER mentioned the car, stranger or wildcat in first interview in cop car on night of murder. And the stupid David Owen cop interviewer does zero follow or questioning on the above.
You forgot to add the part where a Snapchat video proves he was at the kennels 4 minutes before they were murdered. He lies so much and says whatever pleases the person he’s talking too. It also doesn’t help the power his family has there and how much law enforcement DIDN’T DO. If I was Maggie’s family I would definitely hire a lawyer because he could be found not guilty with lack of evidence.
AM is an attorney. Attorneys are ALWAYS telling people not to talk to police without an attorney present... yet, here he us, talking to police for a 2nd time. That tells me he's trying to get them to believe his story, and he's trying to find out what the police know. Notice how he asked if they had DNA evidence? Why touch Paul's phone when he just said himself nobody knew the code?? Strange one!? Why would u be bothered anyway when your child & wife r lying dead?? 🤳🤳🙄🤐
I am halfway through this video (and have watched hours more of other videos of Alex being questioned) and I have yet to hear him refer to him as “Paul Paul or PawPaw (I couldn’t tell which one he was saying)”. He’s a great LIAR and a master manipulator. Narcissist at its finest!!! He’s getting some of what he deserves and will get a lot more with the 100+ more charges.
ALEX SAYS, I knew they went down there before I left to my mom's. He said he didn't know where they went when he texted her he was going to his mom's and why didn't he just drive there to tell Maggie he was leaving
Am I wrong that he didn’t mention telling Maggie and Paul to come home? The housekeeper/friend said Maggie called and asked her to come home and she didn’t want to bc she had workers at the house. Did he not mention that to the officer?
One of the many things that's both sad and creepy about this whole thing is that peaceful father/son quality time ride Alex and Paul had around the property. The whole time Alex knew what he was planning to do, he knew that this was the last few hours of Paul's life. Paul had no idea that this happy moment of goofing around with his dad would be the last time they ever spent together. Little did he know that only a couple hours later his dad would blow his brains out.
I can see why everyone says he's good with people. I can imagine him being very pleasant to talk to in other circumstances. Incredible how he on at least two occasions brings up the idea that Paul left firearms all over and probably lost the two. Also trying to fish for info on what evidence has been found.
He was very adamant initially that he had not gone to the dog kennels thus proving he lied at least once. The truth doesn't require as much memory muscle.
He may have did it but he will 1000% be found NOT guilty. Zero evidence and police incompetence and false info from day one. The prosecution cant win like that I'm sry theres way more than a shred of doubt. Just think about it from that point of view
42:35 They just told him his wife and son are being autopsied. That thought alone should have broke him. But he goes on to just ask about what evidence they may find. Weird energy
again Alex says in the second video 13:31 " maggie went to the kennels , and paul left and i'm assuming paul left because you know , of what happened . " Then he quickly changes to i am assuming paul went to the kennels . He keeps saying because of what happened . So something happened to maggie first, and then he shot paul
He slips up another time and says I knew it was bad, it was before he had seen them. Also he was asked if Maggie and Paul were there when he was asleep or not, he didn't want to answer because he didn't know what they would find out. You can hear him redirect several times. It's easy to see what he did.
He’s a monster, but he’s super charismatic. I can see why so many ppl were fooled by him for so long. The town or county needs to redo a lot of stuff so that one singular family doesn’t control so much power in the legal system. They don’t have a Walmart because ppl go to that town to file lawsuits and the plaintiffs get awarded exorbitant judgments.
Wow! What a sicko. He’s a guilty as the day is long, any moron can see it!! Your son, his brain was blown out and you manage to find a way to chuckle in a conversation with the officer. And he said “ya know” about 800 times. So sad!!
13:25 he totally messes up there. I wonder ‘what happened’? He says he assumed Paul left because of what happened. Then he catches him self and changes story. First acts like Paul didn’t go to the kennels then says he did.
He said, “I’m _assuming_ Paul went to the kennels, you know... because of what happened.” What happened is that *Paul was found dead at the kennels”;* so, clearly, _Paul went to the kennels_ when he left the house [is what A.M. is saying].
Yes at the 51.01 mark he said I did him so bad or I did it so bad. I heard it. Closed caption reads "they" did it so bad. I also heard Alex say the words..."you know" a billion times. He is trying to convince by saying "you know".
Alex absolutely said, I did him so bad. It’s my understanding that Maggie called her best friend on the way to meet Alex and told her that she had a bad feeling about meeting Alex. Also, Maggie told her friend she thought she should get a divorce. Maggie was worth 5 million and her sister was the executive of her will. Alex marked out her sister’s name and wrote his name, he’s so guilty! If you’re interested, Fits News and Murdaugh Murders podcast TH-cam channels have lots of information on this case!
His body language is everything, the nodding back and forth, playing with the phone case, his jaw clinching and the absolutely noticeable irritation when they ask for his phone data, he shifts the subject when they start talking about something really important, saying things like "you know, um, but ,maybe", constantly looking over at detectives notepad, anxiously waiting to answer if they deflect him away from the crime scene, the gutteral noises, no tears, pressing his fingers into his eyes to appear more distressed, shaking of the leg, he is showing all the signs of deception, try and also notice that when the line of questioning shifts towards the weapons and where they are all located he drinks alot more of that sweet tea.
I thought he began to fake cry as soon as the questioning became uncomfortable for him. Also being a lawyer you’re meant to actually remember stuff, yet he didn’t seem to remember anything about the day of the murders. Like didn’t even mention the bendy tree in the video Paul filmed? 🤔
Hell yeah he’s drinking the green tea and the Damn CUP!! His mouth is dryer than the SAHARA DESERT AT THAT POINT.AND I KNOW IT IS ? When I was 9 my pre go sister made me steal a Hershey bar because she had cravings, mind you she’s older and bigger so I had no choice, long of short. Mom came to the store to kick my ass for stealing, I couldn’t utter a mumbling word my mouth was dry because I did steal the candy but under duress from my big ass sister. YUP HIS MOUTH IS DRY AND HE HAS MORE TO WORRY ABOUT THAN A CANDY BAR😳 GOT 🥛🤣🤣🤣
This is all unbelievable! You couldn’t make this sh*^ up! Why is he in such a good mood?? I can’t figure out why it took more than a year to charge him with murder!
My mum was murdered and so was my friends son few years after my mum. This interview is 3 days later and Alex already speaks of them in past tense. Myself and my friend I noticed we still talk of them in present tense at times. Took at least 1 year to start words in past tense, she was ect. My son was ect. But 5 years later we both still say we love them not loved We also tend to simply leave out past tense words automatically ie she did this or that to explain great mum, not say she was a good mum. It's a natural way of speaking you don't even notice at first of a loved one
Normally, I get a pretty solid feeling about which way a jury will lean. This trial? I just don’t know. It truly could go either way. People following the trial need to be prepared for that.
he keeps saying “YOU KNOW” 🥴🧐 .. No Sir I don’t know, that’s why we’re asking you!!!! ONLY YOU KNOW what really happened!! - He totally killed them ; Hope he he gets charged and doesn’t get off because he’s well known! BLESS THEIR SOULS ❤
I know! If I found a family member dead like that, I’d lift and hug them, not leave them lay on the cold ground. How cold hearted he must be to check their pulse and walk away. Usually cops arrive to see a dad doing CPR on a son’s stiff, blue body. Parents never want to stop trying.
When people apologize for crying I wonder why. It’s like he’s looking for approval or acknowledgment that he is a victim and feel sorry for him. And what’s with the name dropping if another SLED agent?

Why is he so cheerful? No grief. He bold faced lied tuat he wasn't at kennel with them. He's shamesless
That's why him stealing money whilst ppl trusted him is so important to this case his character is very important.
Tell me something either his face ABSORBS TEARS LIKE A SPONGE . Or HE ISN’T CRYING? “ HE IS NOT CRYING” 🤨
Lol. I was thinking near the same thing. Lol
he's def not crying. he would've done better to just pretend to be in total somber shock
crocodile tears 🤣
as many times as he has "cried", shouldn't his eyes be a lil red?
You know, I don't know anyone that you know says "you know" as much as you know Alex does. You know?
42:35 They just told him his wife and son are being autopsied. That thought alone should have broke him. But he goes on to just ask about what evidence they may find. Weird energy
He went from crying hard to regular voice so fast. 🤦🏼♀️
Again they are doing the interview in the car!! Why?
It's bizarre!!! And makes zero sense!!
Privilege is why the broke protocol. Entitlement on steroids
It’s cheaper
He is a Murdaugh don't ya know!!!!! No police station interviews for him. Him being the most prolific embezzler in all the county.
On the other hand, the audio for all four participants is great! So, there’s that.
again Alex says in the second video 13:31 " maggie went to the kennels , and paul left and i'm assuming paul left because you know , of what happened . " Then he quickly changes to i am assuming paul went to the kennels . He keeps saying because of what happened . So something happened to maggie first, and then he shot paul
Really? Yet another interview without sitting across from suspect. Isn't this less than ideal for reading responses?
I think so, yes
My same response - they should be in an interview room
"Wolf in sheep's clothing"....Matthew 7:15
Wow! What a sicko. He’s a guilty as the day is long, any moron can see it!! Your son, his brain was blown out and you manage to find a way to chuckle in a conversation with the officer. And he said “ya know” about 800 times. So sad!!
100% AGREE
13:25 he totally messes up there. I wonder ‘what happened’? He says he assumed Paul left because of what happened. Then he catches him self and changes story. First acts like Paul didn’t go to the kennels then says he did.
That what I was just saying…..he said he left after what happen ya know……why wasn’t he asked what happened
He said, “I’m _assuming_ Paul went to the kennels, you know... because of what happened.” What happened is that *Paul was found dead at the kennels”;* so, clearly, _Paul went to the kennels_ when he left the house [is what A.M. is saying].
@@u.synlig Okay … yeah that makes sense.
We didnt argue? Well he is lying right there. About all the money he stole she wouldnt have liked at all.
18:21 I went BACK to the kennels!!
such a bad actor
The performance of a lifetime!! 🤩✨
Doesn't anyone else realize he was snorting drugs prior to this??
Yes at the 51.01 mark he said I did him so bad or I did it so bad. I heard it. Closed caption reads "they" did it so bad. I also heard Alex say the words..."you know" a billion times. He is trying to convince by saying "you know".
Yes, he did say ‘ I did it do bad’
Alex absolutely said, I did him so bad. It’s my understanding that Maggie called her best friend on the way to meet Alex and told her that she had a bad feeling about meeting Alex. Also, Maggie told her friend she thought she should get a divorce. Maggie was worth 5 million and her sister was the executive of her will. Alex marked out her sister’s name and wrote his name, he’s so guilty! If you’re interested, Fits News and Murdaugh Murders podcast TH-cam channels have lots of information on this case!
I turned on the captions to see what it says and they came up not I. So weird. Because I thought he said I too.
@@LaughingLaptops I’ve found that captions many times, are incorrect
@@soalegria1971 Oh okay. I didn't realize that.
“Ya Know” seems his going phrase. But sorry AM, we DON’T Know!
That gun wasn’t ‘lost’, I think AM took it knowing full well he could use it later and no one would even be the wiser.
I'm sorry but he is guilty as sin!! 🤦 But rightly so innocent until proven guilty....
@@666DanMartin yeah wheres that collared shirt hes wearing in it? It's never been recovered.
Yeah! So true!
Why are interviews conducted in a car ?
What was he hitting a few lines before cops came
This is all unbelievable! You couldn’t make this sh*^ up! Why is he in such a good mood?? I can’t figure out why it took more than a year to charge him with murder!
he is powerful in that city of his especially carrying that last name
I don’t care if he’s the president of the US! Bet he killed them thinking he’ll get off because of his name.
Is this really three days after the murder?
Yes and also on the day his dad dies too
Yes it is!
"I did him so bad!" Why didn't they follow with a question as to what he meant by that odd self incriminating statement? 🤔
take a swig every time Alex says you know 🤪
My mum was murdered and so was my friends son few years after my mum.
Well we know one thing is for sure. Buster is not going to be going back to law school. He should have stuck with the Wild Wings career path.
Looks like several interviews are in the car. Is that normal?
Can't take a Murdaugh into a police station.
That would be unseemly.
@@pillettadoinswartsh4974 your right! Gotta keep rich people happy 😃 and definitely don’t embarrass them
I wish I could get a $ for every time he says “you know”
Normally, I get a pretty solid feeling about which way a jury will lean. This trial? I just don’t know. It truly could go either way. People following the trial need to be prepared for that.
im afraid of a not guilty or hung jury. prosecution has been sloppy and disorganized.
How many times did he say " you know" and "and"
Why isn't he in the interigation room ?
Same reason SLED and LE didn't do any of this investigation right.
Ya no and yes sir ,him and his son buster think when they say yes sir and no sir they can fool the police
he keeps saying “YOU KNOW” 🥴🧐 .. No Sir I don’t know, that’s why we’re asking you!!!! ONLY YOU KNOW what really happened!! - He totally killed them ; Hope he he gets charged and doesn’t get off because he’s well known! BLESS THEIR SOULS ❤
it's EXTREMELY concerning that hes worried about putting any of his dna at the scene, more than checking jus son.
I know! If I found a family member dead like that, I’d lift and hug them, not leave them lay on the cold ground. How cold hearted he must be to check their pulse and walk away. Usually cops arrive to see a dad doing CPR on a son’s stiff, blue body. Parents never want to stop trying.
He had that presence of mind to not mess anything up. Lol. Right here they knew he was guilty.
He would have confessed if he got 6 hours in the "room" . . .
I agree foxtrot. He would've coughed up a lot more than just snot spit, that's for sure.
When people apologize for crying I wonder why. It’s like he’s looking for approval or acknowledgment that he is a victim and feel sorry for him. And what’s with the name dropping if another SLED agent?
I spend a lot of time in my car too.. Usually I’m driving though …
Gift of gab. Trying to make friends
