Gonna be honest, I'm only here for Ozzy every week & this needs to be a thing with his friends & stories more often. Really enjoy hearing Ozzy chat & glad he's doing well. Helps us all to see him doing well. Nice to see the family together of course but it gets chaotic and overwhelming and ozzy gets fired up just chatting with one person instead of trying to get a word in edgewise with all the crosstalking, as families do. He's getting so much better and I'm here for it #longliveozzy👏

Ozzy should have as many of these artists on as possible. This is can be an archive for rock history with the perspective of the greatest to ever do it.

I really enjoyed this! Billy it’s nice to see you on the podcast! I really enjoying your stories. I’m nearly 16 years sober, and I admire you. Congrats on the smoke free last couple of weeks. That’s my next goal. I’m down from 15+ 🚬‘s a day, to about 5 now. Getting close.
Ozzy, I really admire you. I’m a musician, I’ve worked my entire life at it, I started producing and writing for myself and other artists very early on. I recorded my first demo EP’s onto tape in 2000 when I was 10 years old. And went from tape to one direct in guitar cable, one little midi keyboard, and the mic built into my laptop in 2001. I managed to, through trial and error, record enough material for 10 records. Most of it was never released. Then I built a studio from the money I had made setting up guitars and doing a lot of tech work. And buying old guitars from guys that just didn’t want them around, fixing the pickups, fixing the electronics, changing out hardware etc. and selling them. I’ve toured across Canada 🇨🇦, I’ve fronted quite a few “underground” central Canadian bands. Music is absolutely everything to me. My point is, I have systemic lupus, a spinal condition that is getting worse and worse by the day, and some other things that I’m still waiting to see diagnostics for. I was diagnosed, with systemic lupus in 2011. The day my first “Studio” record “Fighting Kids For Swings” was released. I had a gig that day to celebrate my record. I couldn’t get out of bed. I had to call the person who put the event together and say “I don’t know how to say this. I don’t know if you’ll understand. But I can’t get out of bed. Physically. I’m trying. I can’t get out of bed. I can’t remember how to play my guitar! (I’ve been playing since 4-5 years old) I’m having brain fog. I can’t do the gig. Please give the stage to another musician at the party. Please give all of the money to them”. This person absolutely lost it on me. Made me feel this big ||... I realized from that moment on, that the world wasn’t going to be accommodating. Though I was only 21 years old, everything I had worked for and built since childhood, all of my dreams and aspirations and goals in life, came crashing down. Nothing was the same. I used to write every day. I stopped writing for a couple of years. Writing is therapy. Writing music is therapy and without it, I don’t really know who I am. I know you understand what that’s like. When a musician, who lives for the music and lives for the stage, and lives for the energy and passion you feel from your audience when you’re standing there on stage. When it all seems impossible, everything starts to..sort of turn into a black hole. Nothing feels the same. Nothing. Life is just. Not life. I started performing, recording my own work, and writing for other artists as well again around 2013. I had my music featured in an indie film in 2015. For an unsigned artist, that’s a big deal! I was working my way back up the ladder. Had some surgeries, had some flare ups, but I was still getting onto that stage. And still producing in the studio, And still co-writing with local and non local artists. And still, doing guitar tech. Then BAM! 2020 happened. The world shut down. And because I have a very compromised immune system, I saw nobody but my wife. Until 2022. Shut my doors completely to my clients. My spinal condition went nuts. And I haven’t been able to afford physiotherapy, or any therapy for that matter since pre-2020. I’m doing everything I can do myself. But I’m fighting what feels like a losing battle. I’m turning 34 this year. I can’t believe how much time I lost. *I admire the heck out of you Ozzy* For working SO HARD to get yourself back on stage. I don’t have the level of fame you do, but I can still relate to you on a human level. When I think about what I NEED to do for myself, to get myself back to work, I think about what you’ve done. How far you’ve come. I really look up to you. I think a lot of people do. Musicians, people with chronic illnesses, fathers, grandfathers. I hope you give yourself the credit you deserve. I know you don’t like to boast, or put yourself on a pedestal. I admire that about you as well. But you’re giving a lot of us out here, a lot of hope. You take care and keep up the Damn good work! I really do admire and look up to you and your accomplishments. And your attitude. All my best, and all my love to you and your family. From East Coast 🇨🇦- Parker
