I don't know if you'll ever see this, and it's okay if you don't. Maybe it's more important just that I say it. Your Credo, the one about ideas- I read it almost every day. You see, I grew up in a cult, where the bigger people around me would hurt me if my ideas weren't the "right" ideas, or my thoughts weren't the "right" thoughts. I've read your novels and Sandman and short story collections and I loved them all (Anansi Boys is my favorite). But still I come back to that Credo. It sinks into me like some kind of healing magic, soundlessly whispering that I should have been free to be wrong. And then, your work, which takes the things most people wouldn't consider classically beautiful, and hangs them on the wall and says, "Look, this can be lovely too." It all inspires me to think more "wrong" thoughts, to give myself and others more freedom. It makes me want to look for small glints of odd beauty in myself and the world around me. And I just want to say thank you and that your work deserves these splendid releases. I hope someday, I'll get to buy them all. I wish you the best and everything that you consider wonderful. 🖤

Loved the Sandman Netflix adaptation. The changes actually grounded and streamlined the story, while being extremely faithful. I think the story works better than the original, so brilliant job to you and the crew.
As much as I would love to own this for myself I would much rather be able to afford to gift this to my BFF for her birthday. We both share a love of Neil and his stories but sadly I can't afford a copy of any of these beautiful books. I'll just have to plan better for my next life so I can afford nicer gifts for my friends. 😂

I have the gorgeously illustrated "new" Sleeping Beauty- like the anime girls, you are finally, giving girls/women/heroines some genuine hutzpah with no apologies. The books are incredible. I still love how a book smells! Never will be an ebook fan... but costs are soaring...Namaste from An Older Fan in Canada who's partner can't believe a woman of my age, listening to a bedtime story...he's jealous of your hair...THE BOOKS ARE VOLUPTUOUS, I CAN "SMELL" THEM FROM HERE. I just wanted to say that the amount of pain I feel after watching The Sandman with all it's unnecessary and awful changes is unbearable. And it hurts more knowing that you, yourself approved them and showed little respect to the source material. What a terrible world we live in.
Eh? Not only was it one of the most faithful adaptations I'd ever seen, I actually thought the changes made simplified and grounded the story and ultimately found it much more enjoyable minus all the DC stuff. I really hope the hugely "detrimental" changes you speak of aren't silly things like...Death being Black? The Endless appear differently, even in the book, to different people. They arent actually any race or gender. I have to say...I have serious doubts you even watched it.

You may bring it to racism, like it usually happens in internet (can't critique anything if there are black actors) but it's about canon. Endless may appear differently to others, but did Death do it? Or did we get a look we knew for over three decades, did they have an universal form. One that looked young but was almost oldest, one that looked like a depressed goth but acted like cheerful child. If a Superman were to be redheaded freckled ginger (and no race change!) some would be angry about this change, and some will still say that it does not change the story. Well, The Sandman was more than just the story, it was also about art, and Neil seems to care only about one of those things.
