Great video. We have a California Pellet Mill which is just a few blocks from where I live. I watched one of your other videos and have found these very informative. I hope I can get to see the inside of ours some day.
I'm beyond jealous of how easy this is compared to the dinosaur I have to repair.. the dies are twice the size and instead of two rolls, there's 3 rolls... I think the rolls we have are also at least 3-4 inches in diameter wider.. this is ridiculous 😂
We don't even have die clamps on our pellet machines... We have to heat the insert with a rose bud to 180-200° f and slip the die in and bolt it down.... Then there's a stiffening ring on the outer ring we have to heat up as well and slip that on there and then the shroud is fastened to the stiffening ring.... I WISH we had pellet mills like this.. this looks like cake work..
I used to be a pellet Mill operator and changing pellet mill dies were never that easy for us we had a die cart and we pulled the whole assembly out rollers and all and a safety precautions used in this video was never used I work for Martindale feed Mill out of Texas.
We do the same but we usually leave the #1, (or the top roll) in it so if the wench fails for some reason it doesn't fall and hit the #1 shaft, or the floor... Or your feet x.x
Look's like LOTO procedures need to be gone over with the employees. Every person working on the equipment must affix their LOCK & TAG to the cutoff switch I saw 2 people on that job. Somebody is going home with a pink slip in his hand. I seen plenty go home from the place I worked at just helping for a minute with no lock on.

Good video. Thanks for showing it.
I own a pellet stove & somehow this arrived in my feed. Pretty scary how much Google knows about each of us.

Yo trabajo en una industria de alimento balanceados y los dados y rodillos se dedgastan muy rapidos
Mucho ajuste u mezcla agresiva
Alimentos con maiz, como alimento de gallina, gastan mas rapido los dados y rodillos

If anybody wants to know how to break a new die in let me know if they happen to be in this industry.
Hello I'm in the industry. What the method you use to break in?
