Also in the novel none of the royal guard members didn't know the history of the soul king besides Ichibei
Indeed. Shutara in particular had a very negative reaction to the truth when Ichibei recounted it. A look of rebellious anger is described as etching across her face as others are shocked and downcast.
This is the subject I wanted explored for so long! I would love to see a video about this going down and what captains would fight for ichigo, and which ones wouldn’t
That he is. He had no qualms about chopping up Ichigo and draining his power to supposedly hold the worlds together. And it gets worst in the postwar era with him and the other higher ups essentially rewriting the narrative something Yoruichi and others who know the truth find reprehensible. He represents the amorality of the ancestors and their drive to control.
Nonsense , the story had a retcon , that's all , he was never supposed to be evil.
He isn't evil to sacrifice one man for the worlds, hell Ichigo would probably let him do it if it came down to it to save them
@@ultradripstinct7105He is. Perhaps you should watch Dororo.
Ichibei, like Kyoraku aren't exactly evil but are willing to do what others won't by any means for the sake of their idea of what the best scenario should be. So chaotic good is a fitting nature.
But Kyouraku is not like Ichibei. Kyouraku still has morals. Kyouraku still wants to be fair.
Ichibei is like Aizen for me.
@hOlyscIentistPH Right, they aren't identical. Kyoraku has remorse, but also enough discipline not to act on it. Ichibei does not concern himself with mortal thoughts.
I don't think soul society will survive without Ichigo or his help defeating enemies....
Such as powerful threats
I think Ichibei is very happy with this system, I believe when ever 'the will of the Soul King' is mentioned, I think it is actually the will of Ichibei. I doubt the other 4 zero squad members even know the whole story.
When he told them they were disgusted and horrified even Hallibel was like now I understand Aizen's plan
He is gon be the final villian of Bleach for sure. If you think about it, he is kinda like Yuha Bach. Yuha was connected to all Quincies and can do the Auswahlen. Whereas, Ichibei is is also connected to all Shinigami and has named all the powers and abilities in existence. If he wants to he can just take the names away...kinda like the AuswahlenI think Ichigo and other captains will learn of this in Hell arc.
He would need a major power up, having already lost to Yhwach. Ichibei is probably the puppet of someone much more powerful who resides in hell.
@@iansingh8536most dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Ichibei is the oldest there, he ain’t no puppet
Ur right but lowkey if someone who has arguably the strongest sr power is a puppet, that would mean whoever is in hell has the power of like anos voldigoad or Gilgamesh
@@iansingh8536 do you realize why he lost to yhwach? Yhwachs ability counters him
@@ZortexBocoALtyea but I’m calling BS on that fight he’s fk immortal just think all that time with the soulking he probably has unthinkable power remember we still don’t know much about him and his limitations to his power, can’t kill a fk MONK he’s been there before time itself
And suddenly Aizen wanting screw with everything doesn’t seem so bad
I just realized ichibei could auto win by rewriting his name as the soul king
I think Ichebi trapped the ancestors of the royal families in hell, so they don’t intervene with his perfect world. Also, Ichebi obviously controlls the current Nobal Families Leaders. I think when the world collapsed at the end of the manga Hell’s gate was opening and fully opened after 10 years because the remaining Reitausu of Ywach was holding hell’s gate closed until it vanshied after 10 years and hell’s gates m completely opened.
Yes ichibei is the most evil Shinigami hands down it is said that he is the one who did that and made the soul King the way he is. And what the soul King just give him power I don't think so.. Ichibei stole it he stripped it from him. Or at least that's what I think ichibei is truly a monster.
All I know is they better show us Ichigo's Bankai ability before this is over
Here's what really gets me. There's no real reason that the Soul King needs to be someone who is reduced to a mere husk. If Ichigo were to replace the Soul King as he is an be made to live in the royal palace, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. However, Ichibe wants to reduce Ichigo to the exact state of the current Soul King in order to maintain his own place at the top. *That* is what gets me.
But.. this has nothing to do with ambition for power to remain in that position, his purpose is to protect the SK to keep the worlds existing..
@@Rizingfz08 and you really think stripping the Soul King of all limbs, organs, and soul is a necessity for that?
@@Isiel42those are only method to create some POWERFUL Sternritters TBH 😅😅😅
A few things:
We only know what Ichibei says about what happened. I wouldn't be surprised if the original sin is somehow tied to Hell, or Hell influencing the ancestors/Ichibei somehow to do what they did.
The line in CFYOW about supporting Kyoraku suggests an off-screen relationship that the Kyoraku family may have held personally with Ichibe. Remember, the Kyoraku family is literally a degree underneath the Noble families and we saw how Kyoraku used his name to get things done as Captain-Commander. Also, while Kyoraku wanted the worlds to continue, as they were, I like how Cour 2 demonstrated that Kyoraku didn't fully trust Ichibei and his motives, further suggesting "a past off-screen relationship."
The fact that Ichigo was spared suggests that maybe his sword's ability to shatter Fate because Ichibei (with all of his precog abilities) did not predict Yhwach absorbing the Soul King. Ywach did that because of that dream of Base Ichigo killing him (which you know, he did when he sucked up all of Ichigo's powers but his Shinigami powers). Remember, CFYOW told us that when Haschwalth had The Almighty, he didn't see a future where Yhwach won and that may have forced Yhwach to do that.
As I think back on the final arc/CFYOW, all the characters with precog abilities have a blind spot. I already explained how Ichibei did not predict Yhwach absorbing the Soul King. Ichibei or Yhwach (for some reason) didn't see anything about the Silver Arrow, the Fullbringers paying a debt to Ichigo so he could keep fighting, Aizen, and Uryu's Antithesis. So that makes me question the limits of their powers.
If a fight were to go down, Ichigo would have way more support than people would think. We already know the 11th division, 13th division (under Rukia), the Visored Captains (Shinji, Rose, and Kensei) would support. I think you may even see support from Urahara because remember what he said at the end of CFYOW about how "if his sins were to catch up to him, he would want it to be Kurosaki, Rukia or Hisagi to take him in." That's...massive admiration and respect for the type of beings they are. I don't think he'd want to see Ichigo become that.
Ichigo being cut down for the balance would cause mostly a civil war in Soul Society and that would be an interesting "What If" to see. But damn. Ichibei is broken.
I think it was already stated that part of the reason they separated the original World was because of Hell, that was the reason the fifth ancestor choose to seal the soul.
Also the reason Yhwach absorbed the soul king was because of Mimihage, Ukitake ended up saving both the world and Ichigo, because without his sacrifice either Yhwach would have won right away, or Ichigo would have been made a sk replacement by Ichibei.
Actually, the support for Ichigo would have been so overwhelming that the 'What If' scenario just quickly falls apart to become a fight against Ichibē and Zero Division to then come and punch some sense into Ichigo who was willing to sacrifice himself yet again for everyone's sake and then, finding an alternative solution, hopefully Urahara can come up with something.
@@EleonoreMagilinon Except that's not what would have happened most likely, sure some shinigami who are close friends of Ichigo like Rukia and Renji would try to help him, but the rest ? I don't they would after they realise that without Ichigo sacrificing himself, the world will be destroyed, the soul society and the shinigami showed time and again that they are willing to do anything and make any sacrifice for "the greater good", and add to that the idea that Ichigo choose to be the next sk willingly, and there is almost zero chance that the gotei 13 would help Ichigo, besides "finding a solution" is not that easy even for Urahara, otherwise he would have done so and prevented Ukitake's sacrifice, the best solution was the Hogyuko and even then Urahara didn't make it with the idea of someone taking the sk place, as he is against that idea.
@@naboume466 well, let's see. Zaraki might have chosen to help since he's not about the greater good. Byakuya, Hitsugaya and the Visored captains would be conflicted about the whole thing, but let's say the fate of the world is important enough for them to stand in the way of others. But then there's Ginjo and Tsukishima, Grimmjow and Nel, all the OP abilities of Ichigo's friends (including Uryuu keeping the Antithesis, which would be a game changer if he used it to support all the others) and then let's just assume that if push came to shove, Ichigo's friends would be crazy enough to somehow break Aizen out, and Aizen didn't like that lynchpin thing one bit, and I can hardly imagine him supporting the idea of sacrificing Ichigo just to keep the status quo.
That's damn overwhelming. Gotei wouldn't stand much of a chance, plus some of its members might rethink it along the way, bet Kyoraku would love to find some alternative way out of it all, he likes Ichigo, the only reason he wouldn't support him is that there's no other solution for now. But I believe they would manage to find it when it's that important to them.
Urahara was thinking of creating a system with multiple people working together instead of one poor lynchpin, and he would have more support, opportunities for testing it and more strong people of different species willing to give it a try. It has good chances of working.
@@EleonoreMagilinon I agree that Zaraki might choose to help Ichigo, but Ginjo and Tsukishima helping is highly debatable, but let's say they choose to help, getting Aizen out is just impossible nor would they choose to do that, remember that besides Kyoraku everyone was against freeing Aizen.
Honestly without Aizen, there isn't even a 1% chance of them winning, there is no shinigami that can beat Ichibei, this is ignoring the overwhelming number of heavy hitters the gotei 13 and zero division combined efforts have, and even with Aizen they are still not going to win, unless somehow Aizen evolved again, but given that this didn't happen against Yhwach I don't think it would happen.
Urahara wasn't actually trying to create a system with multiple people working as a linchpin, that was just Hisagi's interpretation which Urahara denies stating that he was only sating his curiosity and was just using the soul king existence as a basis for the Hogyuko.
I think the what-if is pretty Interesting, I would like to see what would have happened in that scenario, but imo I think it would have ended in a peaceful manner with Ichigo shouldering the burden of the world, and his friends begrudgingly accepting his choice, but I also think that Urahara will look for a solution in the meantime, because even somehow by some miracle Ichigo's friends won, Ichigo would absolutely not accept their help knowing that without him the world would immediately collapse, so finding a solution would need to come first in any scenario, and if there is a solution then there would be no need for conflict as the gotei 13 would happily choose the solution that would spare Ichigo, so yeah it really is a bad ending for Ichigo no matter what.
Crazy is that the soul king let this happen to him willingly. So he must of knew what his had to happen to have the world they live in.
The soul kings probably not dead just my opinion to have that much power maintaining for that long and reio saw it all....there maybe a greater motive at play
Great video, as always. Provokes good insight. When speaking of the original powers of Soul Society, Zero Squad and the Noble Families, both align to 5. This cannot be ignored, though its exact meaning may not ever be made obvious. 5 classical elements or class of interactions, 5 classical worlds or classes of humanity; each would only see "shadows" of the other, interacting with them based on their own frame of reference but forever mystified and misaligned. Ichibe is the quintessence, the 5th that provides a binding bridge between the rest, via his power to name and the motion of his zanpakutou release. "All the Darkness is MINE!", as within it lies the infinite possibilities of the power to redefine a thing, thereby creating a new world or reality about it. This is not evil, but merely the reality surrounding a person with such a power who made it his duty to create and sustain a world of generation and degeneration, whereby all things that can possibly exist can at some point exist, with the ultimately goal that all possibly possibilities coexist. He is managing a massive jigsaw puzzle from a perspective far far above ours, but also deeply central.
So you see, at first I thought it was the case that he felt off and sometimes evil until it hit me. Reyo had a more powerful version of the all mighty and could possibly stare all the way into the future. Reyo probably wanted that to be the case because he let it happen. He was the strongest being overall and possibly showed np resistance. I think the way Urahara see it, its the correct one. Since, it fits for a character like Reyo to sacrifice himself to create balance, in a better constructed reality, where things could trive without interacting with each other when not needed. Who knows how strong Reyo really was honestly maybe he lives in all life forms even after death. Man was OP and Ichibe was probably his devoted follower, now we just look at him weird because hes old and does questionable shit 😂
He may be the greatest fan and a true believer, but if we say Reio did what he did since he believed it would be for the best, it was his choice and he paid for it himself, showing he cared. But then Ichibē doesn't care for anything or anyone, maybe apart from what he thinks is Reio's will (and we know he isn't always correct in reading that will). He's furthest away from care and human emotions, and that makes him a potential true evil. The opposite of love is indifference, and he's the epitome of that.
@@EleonoreMagilinon Maybe his Loyalty to Reyo's creation is greater than his care for other people? He gives me that vibe ngl... Like he'd sacrifice someone for his favorite cult leader type shit... He certainly is sneaky, that's for sure, he also doesn't say where his mind is at. Specially to Ichigo, since Ichigo didn't know that the reason he was being trained by him was so he could replace the soul king.
@@HLDMAD1CKyeah, he kind of gives me a crazy fan vibe underneath it all, believing it's all Reio's will to an unbelievable extent. And that's always a red flag for me. Reio possibly had something Ichibe greatly lacks, the caring side. And he has that tendency of using people blindly, being it Ichigo or Kyoraku and Gotei, all for the sake of what he thinks is right, and that's never a good thing, especially not in Bleach.
Mind you, I think Urahara was quite similar in the beginning, but I see him as someone who chose to try and care as a conscious choice.
Aizen was much the same, but it was partially the reason for his downfall, and in the end it came to his loneliness, a very human emotion he feels and thus he can grow and possibly reflect on his values to become something more than he used to be, to appreciate things.
Even Yhwach, being very uncaring, was essentially that toddler who was afraid of coming back to that nothingness, afraid of pain and death, again, something very human. (And if my guess plays right and he was that way, an infant with no senses. because Ichibe erased his original name, then we're in to find who's at least partially responsible for both wars, hehe).
But Ichibe is the furthest thing away from human, he doesn't care about anyone or anything aside from the idea he believes in, he's not afraid of anything, doesn't lack anything... that gives me the chills as it's hard to relate to him as he is that way, and he's certainly beyond relating to someone at that point. If he becomes misguided in his idea, it can go downhill really fast, and there would be no stopping him inwardly as there's nothing to draw from. He's that ultimate power in favor of keeping the status quo as the end justifies the means for him without question.
And yes, it's particularly creepy to realize Ichigo is going down the path which will require him to sacrifice himself 'for the greater good' without even knowing it. He only wants to become stronger as he wants to protect his loved ones, but Ichibe just uses it to his advantage.
@@EleonoreMagilinon yeah nah, that whole plot line of him training Ichigo was such a set up from him. He literally is willing to take advantage of someone just to keep balance between reality. He's literally like Aizen but creepier lol
The more i watched Soul society, the more desgusting they seems to me. Zommari said that the shinigami kill hollows because they think they are right or that they are gods, but honestly, the hollows are born from sorrow and they became ruttles in order to survive. And we have the almighty shinigamy, who can obtain an asauchi without doing big thing, and asauchi are formed from the souls of the dead shinigami, and they seems pretty much formed like the menos grande are formed. Gave a soul an asauchi and they will imprint their reiatsu on him ("adjucas") and will obtain in the end their own zanpakuto spirit born from the dead asauchi ("vasto lorde"). And by obtaining shikai and bankai they are pretty much the equivalent of an arrancar with ressureccion. Imagine the hell through some hollows need to go to obtain menos, adjucas, vasto lorde and arrancar forms. And they need to be perfected by Hogyoku to became perfect arrancars. On the other side we had the aristocratic, the "good" shinigami, who obtain their powers easy, by "trampled under their feet " the asauchi. And they also had the potential to obtaind hollowification and ressureccion as well through hogyoku, while the arrancars can't obtain so easy an asauchi to obtain shikai and bankai. Ichigo, who helped them so many times, and still, they saw him as a piece of flesh good to be the a sacrifice for the sake of the world in which they think that are gods and make even horrible experiments. Look at central 46, a desgusting organization, full of corruption and the puppet of the evil nobles.
Ichibe went from Santa Clause to Satan real quick.
Interesting. You presented theories I hadn't considered. Great video!

Everything, went according to Ichibeis plan
Bleach is a story albeit fantasy, about the real world and how the world we live in functions at its core. In our reality, the rich and powerful ALWAYS walk on top of the poor and powerless. What you said about the nobles wanting privileges for themselves while sticking everyone else with mortality would then in this light make sense.
As far as Ichibei is concerned, he controls the story. If you don't trust his character, then he is a villain. If you do trust his character, then he is honorable. What did Zero Squad say after the war began? They blamed the Gotei 13 for Ywach instead of themselves. Blame and politics. And who leads the Zero Squad? Ichibei. So based on this event, and under his leadership, Zero Squad is a dis-honorable, irresponsible organization with no accountability, personal responsibility, meekness, honor, honesty, or integrity. This could describe all politicians which Ichibei has proven himself to be.
To finalize; you can't trust Ichibei. You can't trust Zero Squad.
"They blamed the Gotei 13 for Yhwach instead of themselves"
Assuming you're talking about his attack, Zero Squad's duty is to protect the Royal Palace. Gotei 13's duty is to protect Seireitei. Part of former's duty is also to watch. I personally never saw Ichibei and rest of the ZS as evil.
@@IppoX90 Thanks for your reply. This is how I see it for what its worth.
If Ywach is the Soul King's son, this makes the Ywach problem an internal problem which would make this a Zero Squad problem. I don't think Ichibei and the gang were watching all that much considering they could have passed a friendly warning to the Soul Society anytime that Ywach was gearing up for something. This would be in ZS best interest considering how powerful Ywach is. Ichibei is without a doubt a liar and he's also incompetent. The only reason ZS passed the blame so fast to the Captains is to cover for the fact they were delinquent to begin with.
Take a look at Ichibei's actions instead of his words. One common theme of Bleach is you can't trust the powerful. ZS sure is powerful aren't they? Allowing your master to be chopped up and then claiming to be his bodyguard is obviously an evil thing to do.
@@resolution67 I guess it just depends on the person how they see it. I'm personally the type who agree with line of thinking that people like Ichibe, Kyoraku and Urahara does.
It can just be that being around Reio can cause changes to your body like immortality
Ichibei is the goat but an evil goat lol. But a necessary evil
Unnecessary evil, he is the reason why the whole Soul Society is built upon lies. What is wrong with your head?
@unrealdreams777 if he hadn't protected the soul king , all realms would have reverted back to one caotic world
@unrealdreams777 imagine living in paradise and then hell fuses with paradise becoming paradise/hell ...pretty much a hell 2.0 now ...ichibei was preventing that from happening by any means necessary... so his intentions were good... sacrifice a few for many to survive.
Always amazing content simo thank you
Ichibie, the most powerful shinigami. Unlimited 🍄 for power up like Mario. What job does he do when there is nothing to do? Is this the reason he gained weight while the rest of the crew is skinny except the chef lady? What's his purpose of existence? Is he innocent? If Aizen can hypnotize Yhwach, can Ichibie be hypnotized as well? What's with the DragonBalls necklace?
With this in mind, Yhwach the leader of a pseudo-Reich organization and commits cleansing of his own people on a whim- comes across as the lesser of evil in comparison.
Awesome theory, it makes too much sense dude.
At first I thought so but he displays more cynical then evil he speaks so matter of fact or comes off as he doesn't care but he was one of the first beings
Inchibei getting bankaied by Itchigo that would have been awesome.
A man who gave everything in soul society its name? If he was the final villain, soul society is good as dead.
I believe Ichibei stole mostly all of Reio’s powers. He’s a disgusting SOB who needs to be deleted.
Technically, ichibei nerfed ichigo at the start of the show. The Yhwach that is in ichigos blood was going to give his name, but ichibei blocked that. If ichigo knew about all of his powers form the jump, he would've grown more power faster. He would've been like hikone, and all those that know, know that his was almost full power kenpachi level. This would've ended the aizen fight earlier, made ichigo way stronger, and might of been able to stop Yhwach return to full power.
What if the zero squad are actually the fife noble family ancestors but they changed their names?
I dont think he is evil per se i think he is more of a force of nature or the guardian of the world knowing what it takes to keep reality together and he will do what is necessary to keep the starus quo.
Yeah if you know the story of the Shinigamis it really gets dark.
My belief is that ichibe was very very close to Reio and Reio confided to him what would happen and to honor him and let it all happen. Because it is the way Reio saw it. I believe he’s doing it all because he truly believes in his friend Reio
Yes, I actually believe that as well. It's just that he doesn't care for anyone apart from Reio. And that still makes him potentially dangerous and possibly misguided. It's not guaranteed that got the Reio's intentions correctly, since he thought it's Reio's will that brought Ichigo to them to replace Reio, and it was obviously not the case, and I bet Reio knew about it, but Ichibē almost made a crucial mistake (imagine the true purpose of Ichigo according to Reio was to defend the worlds against Hell, and Ichibē almost killed him to make him a lynchpin). A true fan who's not always in tune with his idol is sometimes more dangerous than a villain.
@@EleonoreMagilinon you are totally correct. What throws me for a loop is that multiple zero squad reference Reio’s feeling of Ichigo. Like they actually are communicating with Reio. Both ohestu and Tenjiro make remarks outside of Ichibe. I can’t tell what to make of that. Maybe Simo can bring that up in a video.
His intention to do what it takes is much greater than having compassion for someone, if there was no other way Ichigo would definitely be the new SK, would be the only right thing to do to keep the worlds in existence.
Tokinade: I am a Joke for you ?
First, we have no way of knowing it was the only way to keep the worlds, it's just that he never allowed any research to be conducted to find any other solution, and it's his choice, he bears responsibility for itm Thus, not the only solution, just one of them. Second, who says it's the right call to make? He's just imposing what he thinks is right on everyone, nothing wise or noble about it, just his egoistic choice.
I think they were responsible for reio and white separation.
White?
I don't know what good do you want from a world where the Captain Commander Yamamoto Genryusai had to be calmed down from massacring the quincy race into oblivion and original gotei 13 captains were literal FUCKING CRIMINALS!
i mean, you will have better finding a monodominant psyker in the Imperium of mankind than to find good characters in the bleach anime,i guess.
When a good guy do a bit of evil, every one will be like "he is the true evil", or when an evil guy do one good act, people will be like "he has a heart of gold".
Simple human psychology. So no it cannot be agreed up on that he is the worst or the most evil.
He is lawful evil
Nah, it's not really about it. Even Aizen cares about something, even if it's care to find someone equal to him, to understand him, not to feel lonely. And that makes him human, it makes him capable of caring for others even in theory. Ichibē doesn't care about anyone, and doesn't look like he ever will. If he ever did, he abandoned that care for the sake of his idea of how the world should be, willing to sacrifice anyone for the sake of what he thinks is right, he's the furthest thing away from human.
That's what makes him the true villain for me, not just his atrocities.
@@EleonoreMagilinon We know pretty much nothing about him other than some presumptions from the light novels which is not even authored by Kubo. Hence, I don't think its appropriate to call him the most evil or with such hyperbolic descriptors.
Let at least wait for Kubo to write & develop Ichibe before passing judgment on him.
@@EleonoreMagilinon
And? Despite Aizen's secretly wanting to be an ordinary soul reaper because he felt isolated he still revelled in his power and still treated everyone like tools to be used and discarded. He killed how many soul reapers in his attempt to create the Hogyoku. He turned his fellow soul reapers into hollows in his sick experiment. He manipulated and eventually discarded Momo, basically mind f*cking her. He attempted to kill Harribel for "not being strong enough to fight on her behalf". He wanted to kill 100,000 humans to create the Ōken. All because he wanted to replace the Soul King based on how he thinks the world should be, the trait you vilified Ichibe for. Aizen may have wanted to change the world, but let's not pretend it's for anyone else's sake but his own. Aizen may have felt isolated from others because of his supreme power (boohoo), but Toshiro once felt the same way due to his potential yet still overcame this feeling and forged genuine bonds with others so this is no excuse for Aizen's behavior.
@@herpderp5727 I'm not trying to excuse Aizen, he's done a lot of shit and it's legit that he's in prison for it.
But in essence, Aizen is more human than Ichibē as he at least cares for something, he's not indifferent to everything (as much as he tries to make it seem that way), and in that, he has some chance to change at least in prospect. And Ichibē is just completely indifferent to everything but his goal, he's not interested in the world down below, and even if he used to care, he seems to seized to doing it a long time ago (no matter if it's good or bad type of 'caring', it's one thing and indifference is another). So if Ichibē ever goes south, there would be absolutely nothing to stop him inwardly (when there was that loneliness that played a part at stopping Aizen, it was a part of a reason for his defeat which makes it a good thing that he had it), he is completely impartial and thus is a potential real monster.
He gives me the chills with that cold impartial indifference much more than Aizen does, but that's my personal take.
So many thoughts of Ichibei but one thing that keeps coming up from everyone is how evil Ichibei is but there's another angle that one could take and that would be maybe Soul King told ichibei about the future and the plans etc. Maybe Ichibei was under the wing of the Soul King and was instructed ot not get involved when Reio gave himself over to the Noble ancestors to be placed in the crystal and dismembered. Maybe Ichibei was instructed by Reio himself to just not try to stop them because there was a future where it was necessary. I know Ichibei being evil is the most popular thing because of people call him sneaky and cunning however it could just be that Ichibei is really just doing what he's been instructed to do by Reio however many years ago. Regardless, I like all the theories and I hope we get some concrete backstory soon.
I totally agree. Ichibei has always been loyal to the Soul King, like a keeper. Since SK himself did not rebel against the ancestors of the noble families, Ichibei accepted his decisions and continued to fulfill his role as guardian.
Ichibe is not evil. He is willing to do what it takes to keep the balance of the 3 worlds. He's a necessary "evil".
He's not a villain more like the man whom is responsible for the ising and setting of the sun. The Balance. He will do good and bad and is not Ichigos Friend but actual superior....
نفس صوت سيمو كيسكي
Just because we dont see the other nobles from the time of the original sin, does not mean they were defeated by Ichibei. Even prior to the light novels there were plenty of nobles we didnt know of. They probably congregate in the noble areas of soul society or the 5 "discs" in the royal realm. Maybe some of them were killed or imprisoned. Im not discounting the possibility, Im just saying there is no proof one way or another. I had a bit of a headcanon that one of the heads of the original noble families that was directly responsible for cutting up Reio was an ancestor of a character we know now. After the original sin their noble family was expunged from Soul Societies history out of shame. A person of that capacity had to have been good with the sciences and Kido (Demon Arts) as well as keeping secrets so they dont get found out by others. So generations in the future one bright man felt sorry for what Reio had been subjected to and devoted himself to the sciences so they could possibly repair Reio's body. After experimenting with different technologies he was one step closer to providing a false body for the Soul King. And that man is Urahara Kisuke.
Ichibei is not evil per say.
