They were ahead of their time. Synthwave, albeit growing, was still a niche genre (arguably presented to a more wide audience with the movie Drive). Had Wonder Girls not been korean and released this in more recent times, this could have been a Blinding Lights of sorts. Still, compared to many other entries into the genre of modern 80's retro, Reboot stands as one of few that actually sounds as if it was taken straight out of that era. It is among the most underrated albums, nay, musical ventures of all time and a masterpiece.
i really like this comeback. almost all the latest songs in k-pop right now are just summer songs but THIS is absolutely something else. something different but good. i love how both the song and the m/v gives me of the 80s vibe. AND i´m loving the fact that the girls look like real women not some girls dancing around or playing instruments. also who is the rapper she killed it. idk her name :).
Wonder Girls were always ahead of their time and don't get the respect they deserve. That's partially due to JYP holding them hostage in America for so long back then, but how many new idols name Wonder Girls as their influence? Not many.

Reboot is definitely one of the best girl group kpop albums out there. The 80s influence was such a good way to go and it wasn't so try hard to be 80s either it was simply just SO great. Now a days it's so hard not to find ggroups doing the played out cute school girl concept. Goddd I love thisss Wonder Girls really really blew me out the water with this comeback. This is months later I'm writing this that means I'm still so amazed haha. fightiingggg!!!

the group is not underrated as they are 2nd gen legends but the band era of the group is underrated since they they were on hiatus for a while and came back right in the middle of 3rd gen. When reboot came out, most of the 2nd gen groups were either breaking up or going on hiatus.

I feel bad for the people who disliked this WG song. 80's music at it's finest in this day in age. I didn't think the music was underwhelming, but some of the vocals could've had more of a punch. I really like that they brought this type of music back with a little of modern feel to it. We should all appreciate old music & new. I mean without the music from the Beatles, michael jackson, bee gees, abba, annie lennox, etc (the older gener.). There wouldn't be all these other experimental new genres of music you kids like these days. Anyways, i must say WG amazing & confident, no need for overly sexy dance moves. Great job WG!

All the fandoms get along in the old days; they only hold grudges against the agencies (lol) I remember when WonderBang was at its peak, WFs & VIPs still deferred to Cassies because of TVXQ (whose relocation to Japan opened the domestic door for WG & BB, just like the latter's own exodus opened the same for the 2009 idol groups).

reboot is the best kpop album ever made… my girlies are so underrated
the group is not underrated as they are 2nd gen legends but the band era of the group is underrated since they they were on hiatus for a while and came back right in the middle of 3rd gen. When reboot came out, most of the 2nd gen groups were either breaking up or going on hiatus.

I feel bad for the people who disliked this WG song. 80's music at it's finest in this day in age. I didn't think the music was underwhelming, but some of the vocals could've had more of a punch. I really like that they brought this type of music back with a little of modern feel to it. We should all appreciate old music & new. I mean without the music from the Beatles, michael jackson, bee gees, abba, annie lennox, etc (the older gener.). There wouldn't be all these other experimental new genres of music you kids like these days. Anyways, i must say WG amazing & confident, no need for overly sexy dance moves. Great job WG!
showsomedignaty I know right. Way to much ass twerking going around these days. That's not what it takes to be sexy. To many Kpop groups doing it these days. It's the reason I left American music behind. But it seems like way to many are following the same nasty trend. I'd rather see my Kpop idols do without all the twerking to be sexy.

Natalie Jean Oh i totally understand & can respect people who have different tastes in music. But when some of them don't even know or don't research why the concept was made the way it is & complain. Then it bothers me. I don't mean to rant to you, but I respect that WG/JYP tried to recreate 80's music ,etc while still being them. I know it might've not lived up to what some others hoped for but I appreciate what WG did. They brought a piece of musical history back to the present day.
5 years of Reboot. What an iconic era, they said let's show them why they call us retro queens. Amazing album, amazing concept and ofc Sunmi was back too so it was even more iconic. 💜😭
