HOW TO EFFECTIVELY PACK A SUITCASE (plus some amazing travel tips and hacks!)✨
Here are a few of my favorite packing tips to save you space in your suitcase: 😍
1. When packing your packing cubes, make sure you are making the clothing the SAME width as the packing cube to maximize space and NEVER have wasted room with different size items. Using packing cubes is the best way to maximize space and keep clothing clean! I love these compression ones because they then become small and compact so I can fit more! 🧳I keep my packing cubes all one side of my suitcase because the squares fit perfectly next to each other and no room is left. 🚫 Link to cubes: amzn.to/3MYyG49
2. Don’t let your shoes be wasted space!👟 Putting your socks inside your sneakers or around them is a great way to fill up unused space. This is also a great tip for keeping your heels in good shape and not smushing them! 👠
3. When packing purses, remove the stuffing that you usually keep to hold its shape and add items like swimsuit bottoms, foldable beach bags, other purses, accessories or anything that will fit. Using the maximum space and keeping the bags shape for safe keeping! 👛
I use the other side of my suitcase for usual shaped items like shoes, purses and other items so that I can jenga these items around each other! 🧱

This video shows clearly what effective packing looks like. If you don't have packing cubes, here's what I have been using for years now without any issues. I keep ALL the plastic packaging from the pillow cases, sheet sets etc. Anything that I purchase that I can re-use. I will then use one for my personal care items, the pillow case one for feminine products, the sheet set one for outfits. This way, they all fit into the suitcase and none of my clothes gets dirty. Also just in case of spillage, my clothes are protected. For shoes, I use the bags my handbags come in or any such soft bags. Reuse and recycle until you can get to the aesthetically pleasing stuff, especially if money is an issue and you can't afford this stuff. Then when possible, upgrade to your hearts content. You can use free umbrella bags to achieve much of what you are using packing cubes for. Really convenient for dirty clothes when you return home. You can trim the bags to suit luggage dimensions. More durable bags are in museums, or wherever you might have to walk around a building for an extended period of time.

I use umbrella bags for my shoes (singly) & pack them on the edges of my suitcase: it saves a lot of space.
Looks so neat! I dont have a suitcase that zips open on both sides like this, just one huge cubby hole...a little harder to pack when you have to think about the layers.
It does look neat! Packing in a suitcase with just one large compartment can be a bit more challenging. Consider using packing cubes or small bags to stay organized within the larger compartment. ❤️

one question I have is what sizes are the best- and how many? im assuming like 2 medium maybe 2 small... and 1 mini? im travelling for two weeks very far so any tips for flight and packing anyone has please reply to this
And what about if you are going on a business trip and all your clothes are business attire? You would also roll your dressy jackets like that then spend time pressing them in the hotel?
For dressy jackets on a business trip, consider using a garment bag or folding them neatly on top of rolled clothes to minimize wrinkles.

And that's my problem with packing cubes. You need to squish the clothes so it can fit in the cube, but when you take it out It's all wrinkled. And no a portable iron doesn't feel like something i would pack for a trip.

Ik I’m a little late but I’m going on a trip. I’m staying in a hotel so there’s not washing machines. Does rolling your clothes make them wrinkled?
Of course, anything can wrinkle items if left too long. So I take my clothes out right away at the hotel. Or use the steamer /iron on the delicate ones if needed! especially when you pack them tightly. Have a fantastic trip!

Wash it when i come home. I put it in a pillowcase, bagie or my laundry bag i carry with me and put it in my suitcase.

The goal is the organization though. Keeps everything neatly organized throughout your trip so it doesn't looks like a jumbled mess half way through which is what happens to me without them 😅

it does in fact, make more space too!! because its compression, you can fit a LOT more into them and smush them down than regular stacking of clothes. But also great for organization and keeping your bag clean!
